No surprises on the menu but everything is delicious. Respectful, old-world service, with survivable prices (unlike other area restaurants). Everybody in our group (7) enjoyed their food, which was tasty, hot and fresh. Well-behaved children are welcomed and will feel welcome and at home, but this is no play-yard, Scaletta is for family dining (almost a lost art in NYC). I've never had a bad meal here. The pasta is terrific, the Italian classics are done perfectly, and you are never hurried or pestered. My only disappointment was they were out of duck--and I love their duck! It's especially nice for holiday meals--I've had Thanksgivings and Christmases there--plenty of room for all and really good meal options.
