  • "The music they play was too loud, had to shout to be heard and had to strain to hear. The classic meatball, that they say the secret is nonna's sauce, although the ball itself was tasty, it was dry and tough. Had it been served with a proper amount of nonna's sauce, it would have helped with the dry aspect of the ball. The burrata drizzled with honey and truffle oil served with toasted focaccia bread was good but the texture was off both the outer layer and inner filling. The Margherita pizza, thin crust, oval shape and served with scissors so that you cut the pizza yourself, was very good and the fresh mozzarella was excellent. There is a DJ spinning the tunes and could be why music volume escalated as the night progressed."

  • "I had dinner with a girlfriend of mine Thursday evening. We sat at a table in the bar section in between 2 large tables and the DJ stand was so it was quite loud but not overly disruptive. Portions of food are large. We shared 3 apps!! Loved the Burrata, but I'd suggest serving it with plain crostini rather than it covered with butter and garlic. It overpowered the flavours of the Burrata and honey together, and I wanted to enjoy it as is. In fact, olive oil would have been preferred on the side (and more authentic too)! We also had the calamari and artichoke/spinach mix - all which were delicious. All in all, great experience! Our server was sweet, courteous and attentive and the hostesses were friendly. Will return! Thank you xo"

  • "I've only been to Scaddabush a couple of times. The first with my girlfriend for a wonderful dinner experience that included some delicious drinks and incredible made-in-house mozzarella. My first experience certainly warranted a second visit, so when I was scheduling a lunch with my business partner, I could think of no better place. The service was friendly and professional, the food was absolutely delightful and the entire atmosphere and experience was a great combination of sophistication and relaxation. I tip my hat to the entire crew of servers and chefs. I will definitely be bringing more people to Yonge and Gerrard. Bravo!"

  • "I've been to Scaddabush three times now and each time I loved the food. Very good choices. Terrific atmosphere. When I made reservations the lady told me she sat us by the kitchen so that we could see the mozzarella being made, however, there was nothing happening in the kitchen. We brought it to the attention of the person who sat us and he said we'll make some for us but nothing happened. Oh well. I would still return because the food was delicious."

  • "I work in 777 Bay and we received coupons at our desks for 20, 30, 40% off with each visit. As we had a group lunch we thought we'd avail ourselves of the opportunity. I'd been to Reds before but not Scaddabush. As one of our group already had used the coupon once, we got 30% off! We enjoyed the food, the music was pitched at a level that allowed us to have a business meeting. The service was friendly and prompt. The fellow (owner?) who brought out some of the dishes came out to talk to us and ask how the food was. That lent a personal touch that you don't often find in Toronto restaurants. It was a good choice."

  • "I went to Scaddabush with a coworker on Friday. I ordered the Chicken Avocado BLT with side salad, and my coworker ordered a pasta (capri I believe), we also shared an Apple Ravioli for dessert. The main dishes were really well presented, portions are fair for lunch. My sandwich is a little bit cold, I believe it's because our lunch took awhile to arrive due to the pasta. But the taste was good. The crowning glory is the apple ravioli, it's kind of like a pizze pocket but with apple inside it. I didn't expect that, it's warm, flaky and served with vanilla ice cream...It's really delicious, I will come back to Scaddabush to try more of their desserts!"

  • "Fantastic restaurant. I dined with a group of 8 for lunch. The service was perfect: timely, friendly, helpful. The menu is pretty unique and the food is very fresh. The price is also just right for the quality of dining. Only thought would be to expand the number of vegetarian options on the menu; we had 4 vegetarians and all ended up getting the same item."

  • "the pasta we ordered was way undercooked and it was still stiff. Apparently the pasta wasn't adequately stirred while cook because they all stick together and making everything even worse. I rarely ask dish to be recooked but we were sharing a 'social' dish, and all three of us agreed that it was terrible. So we ask to sent the dish back to kitchen. The second time was better but still not amazing pasta, just merely average. My other companion ordered individual pasta, which was also slightly undercooked. The only dish that was acceptable was pizza dish. But the service was fine, and the ambience was okay. But I will never go back again"

  • "I enjoyed my experience here well enough. The food was better than expected, and there were many options for everyone at the table. The decor was probably my favourite part of the restaurant, and the 'rustic' elements were fun and playful. The waiter did a very good job, but reminded me of step by step service that was very impersonal. His language was peppered with Italian phrases, and it was very clear that this was most likely a choice made by the management team to create a 'traditional Italian experience'. I personally found it alienating, and found that it left the server feeling flat. I prefer a more dynamic/interactive experience from my servers. That being said, he did a great job and made some lovely recommendations. "

  • "I really liked the ambience and decor of the place. It cozy with a touch of rustic while retaining eclectic appeal (electric bulbs and candelabras in the same room says it all). I split the buratta with a friend as appetizer and it was good, tasty with nice texture. We also had pizza margherita which was not amazing but not terrible either, I've just had versions of it that I prefer.. I also got to try the Zucca which a friend ordered. There was a generous portion of butternut squash filling although the cream sauce was too heavy for my taste. Another member of our party ordered the Arrabiatta which was generally good although much too spicy. On a different note, the service was great! Would go back to try other items on the menu."

  • "I am a sucker for italian food, and mozzarella cheese. This food was so great. I had the Primavera pizza which had all my favourite grilled veggies on it, and I loved the scissors that came with the pizza so you could cut it however you want, great for sharing! I also had the caprese salad which was so wonderful. The fresh mozzarella in the salad was literally the best thing of my life. I had the zeppole for dessert. It came in a little brown paper bag with a cute little cup of chocolate hazelnut spread for dipping. The overall food experience was 10/10. The service was also wonderful, as well as the atmosphere. Just a great place to eat really!"

The bartender was great! Super friendly and helpful. Was not pushy at all. The rest of the staff was very upbeat - always had a smile on their faces."

  • "The address on the website is very misleading because it says Yonge St but it's actually on Gerrard so me and my guests had problems finding the place. The service from the hosts, bartender, and wait staff was excellent. Food and drinks were very good. The music in the bar and dining area was very loud and made it challenging to have a conversation."
