Diner Reviews
  • "This place never disappoints! We had a great time at the bar with our superb mixologist, Jesse, on a busy Friday night. My friend and I shared an array of small plates that were creative and superbly executed, and timed perfectly despite the crush. Great experience!"

  • "An amazing meal from start to finish. The flavor, quantity, and pace at which each course was delivered was outstanding. Service was superb, especially from our server Oswaldo. Stand out dishes were the trout, lamb, bucatini, and eggplant terrine. Overall, a perfect dining experience."

  • "in a long time.. totally worth it... get the pork chop.."

  • "Several tasty items (The popovers, the strawberry shortcake and the eggplant marmalade on the fish) but also many inconsistent or boring items. And the lamb entree was almost too salty to eat. I have had much better meals and less famous philly spots"

  • "delicious food overall. Amuse bouche was fantastic (fois gras soup)--like velvet! Some dishes were a bit on the salty side. tables very close, felt a bit like a group dining experience. Could not get up from table to use restroom without needing to move table. Staff was extremely pleasand but service was slow. Took a good 20 mins to get drink order placed. Had to ask for order to be placed."

  • "From the moment we walked in the door I knew our experience at Sbraga would be special. We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and he was presented with a card signed by Chef Sbraga when we sat down. Chef was on the line the entire night, preparing orders himself, which was surprising to us- we figured a celebrity chef wouldn't actually be preparing food. The food itself was amazing- the portions were perfect and everything was excellently prepared. They were very accommodating of my gluten-free requests (I have celiacs) and never once made me feel like I was being a pain. The service was impeccable- our server Dawn was friendly, knowledgable, and her attention to detail was amazing. We will be recommending Sbraga to everyone."

  • "I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall seamlessness of service. The spicing on the hen entre is amazing! I have been craving it ever since."

  • "My first visit to Sbraga was with friends on a busy Sat. night and the food and service was excellent. Returned for a business dinner during a quieter weekday and received excellent service and enjoyed an inventive menu featuring in-season early summer ingredients. I would recommend Sbraga to anyone thinking about dining there."

  • "I'd read mixed reviews of Sbraga's, but overall I really enjoyed our meal. The food was intriguing and certainly what you'd expect from a Top Chef winner. Serving sizes are on the small side, so plan accordingly. The only downside of our visit is that, as others have pointed out, the tables are very close to each other. Not a major distraction but it does raise the noise level and don't expect a romantic atmosphere. (Old favorites like the original Frog and Knave of Hearts also had tight seating, but it fit with the young, trendy atmosphere of those places. It's not a good fit with Sbraga's.)"

  • "Really enjoyed this restaurant, the food is amazing and the service was great, I def recommend."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Sbraga, The menu was comprised of delicious, unusual courses. We loved each bite! My only complaint was the tight spacing of the tables. At one point, the server for the next table kept positioning himself between our tables. His bending over definitely affected our space."

  • "The Foie Gras soup was one of the most delicious soups I've ever eaten. It was like liquid silk with just a hint of spicy heat to keep it from being too rich. The popovers were very nice and perfectly warm. The eggplant terrine was fine, but nothing special. My husband enjoyed the beef tartar."

  • "We enjoyed our meal at Sbraga. Our waiter was a professional who knew the menus, wine and choices. We had a Prixe Fixe meal of four courses. The first three courses were good. We got to sample foods that were prepared well and excited the palate. Our only disappointment was dessert. The choices sounded exciting but didn't live up to the rest of the menu. Meals move fast at Sbraga and we were out before we knew it. A little time to rest between courses would have been appreciated."

  • "Beginning with the foix gras soup, the first four courses were delicious. Flavors were complex and well conceived. Ingredients were fresh and presented expertly. I would not recommend the dessert selection however as it was unimpressive to dessert lovers. Since the menu changes only seasonally, this is not a place to go frequently as it could become mundane eating the same dishes."

  • "Great special occasion restaurant. Food, service and ambience were wonderful."

  • "Sbraga never disappoints. Service is always above par and the execution of the menu items is always excellent. Based on a price/value perspective it's got to be one of the best establishments in the Tri- state area."

  • "I went here with my wife for our anniversary. We got the tasting menu with wine pairings. The foie gras soup was included and was excellent. 4 out of the 8 courses we had (4 each) were very good, though not excellent, and the other two (eggplant terrine and gemelli) were just ok. The wine pairings went well with each course. For a tasting menu, we thought the price was very good, but we've had better tasting menus, and it was just a little too much food. The waiters were a bit over-attentive, and served our next course as soon as we were done with the one before. The ambiance was nice, and we enjoyed our dinner overall."

  • "We sat at the Chefs' Bar and had a great time. The line cooks were very nice and answered questions about the service. We had a complimentary amuse bouche AND appetizer - delicious steak tartare in a pot! Our meal was excellent, and Chef Sbraga came over to chat with us. There was a card waiting at our spot, wishing me a happy birthday. All in all, a wonderful evening and it is our new favorite place!"

  • "Almost perfect. The only ting was it is way too loud to the point my throat hurt the next day. Might want to lower the music of sure."

  • "On my third trip to Sbraga, food continues to delight. Inventive combinations make the food sparkle-- for example, I have rediscovered how bright and sweet fava beans can be. The courses are also designed so that, no matter what you pick, your menu will be cohesive and complementary. The fois gras soup starter was both rich and a little sweet, and also incredibly smooth.. It may be the best fois gras preparation I ever enjoyed-- and I indulge whenever I have the chance. Service however, is not quite perfect. The team service model resulted in constant interruption of the meal, and I felt rushed as servers SEVERAL TIMES attempted to remove dishes I was still eating-- as if I needed to hurry out so they could seat another party. PLEASE fix!"

  • "Being a foodie and appreciating food profiles, it was pure joy to order and await with wonder and antcipation the masters of the food favors and spices coming together as one!"

  • "Wonderful meal, but if you only like items you recognize, you'll have a problem here. Great for foodies tho - really great selection of unique preparations. Fix Price menu - four courses $55. Moderate sized portions, so you're not stuffed when you leave. A bit crowded and noisy, so I wouldn't make this a romantic stop. Fun atmosphere and staff."

  • "Definitely one of the best meals I have ever had and I am pretty picky. :) the ginger foie gras soup amuse bouche was absolutely divine. the service was also great. It was pretty loud but other than that a wonderful experience. "

  • "We had the chefs tasting menu, which was great. Started out with two glasses of sparkling then dove into the wine list. Great selection of wines with food to make. The service was great and attentive. "

  • "We did not know about the prefix but were not dissapointed. The only thing that bothered us was the Disco-like music. It started off with a rap that was too loud and I didn't think it was appropriate nor necessary for a dinner at 7pm. We could hardly hear ourselves talk. The waitstaff was kind enough to agree to turn it down a notch but I believe it was rather the choice of music than the volume. We will go back and give it a second chance because the food was exquisit."

  • "This restaurant is partially owned by to wine friends we know, and have been wanting to try it. We had an AMAZING meal with their WONDERFUL staff! They were especially on top of my son's allergies, and he likewise enjoyed the experience. We will definitely be back, and have already been recommending to others. This place is a new find for us!"

  • "The food here was so well thought out, fresh and perfectly seasoned. But the service was rushed! We finished 5 courses in under 90 minutes. But we were willing to overlook being rushed because the food was so great!"

  • "I would like to congrat the chef! The ingredients of dishes in each one of the options are so well choosen. And those ingredients are harmonized to make a special taste. The service is examplar too! I'll be back for sure!"

  • "The new spring menu is an absolute must if you are flavor-seekers as we are. Probably 80% of the dishes are new. The special porkchop in the morel and truffle sauce was memorable -- but so were other selections, such as the rabbit risotto. "

  • "We went their for our anniversary. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, and food was great!!!! I would recommend others go for any occasion, or for a special occasion like we did."

  • "The food was wonderful. The food parings were well thought out, and the seasoning was spot on. The Amuse Bouche was a Foie Gras soup that was the highlight of the evening for me, except maybe the beetroot ice icream and chocolate macaroon. Our server was attentive and thoughtful. My only complaints: the Spring Lamb dish could have used more acid to cut the richness of the bernaise sauce, and there are far too many tables in the small restaurant. I could barely get out from behind my table, and walkways are blocked by badly placed tables. "

  • "Sbraga offered a great range of choices, including those for vegetarians and pescetarians, on a reasonably priced prix fixe menu. It was a great value for what we got. The meal was very good (I swear I dreamt about the barley risotto afterward), and service was impeccable."

  • "My wife and I have come to Sbraga's about 8 times since it opened, and each time is like going there for the first time and being blown away each time. The food is always good, the reception is always good, and the advantage of having gone there so many times is that our waiter knows our birthdays, anniersary, and always has a table ready for us on Valentine's Day. This is without a doubt, the BEST restaurant in Philly. Do not miss out on it. "
