The food is outstanding and honestly WELL proportioned. I hate getting large amounts of OK food. Quality over quantity, and Saxon + Parole has it down!
I was much less impressed with our waiter. If I would describe him as slow, I would be understating it. On top of that, after we closed our check, we decided to have another round of drinks. He came back 10 minutes later and said we would have to go to the bar or the separate but connected establishment for more drinks because he wanted to close out the section. Our water was constantly refilled thanks to the bus boys/runners.
Thankfully we weren't in a rush the food was great. I've been with family, with college age folks, and with clients- all with great success. The food is cooked to the highest of standards with a perfect choice of drinks to accompany your meal on the wine list. The location of restaurant is also good to provide the perfect night out in Manhattan. They just started offering lunch this week, so friends and I popped in. The chilled soup was delicious, as was everything else on the menu. Fresh, light, and well-prepared. But the refreshers were the best part! Fresh squeezed juices- can't go wrong! Obsessed with the sweet potato gnocchi right now and the Brussels sprouts with yuzu hollandaise. Also the cocktails are top shelf so there is always something delightful and new.
