Having brunch at SAX was perfect. Go for a birthday and they'll treat you like royalty. I loved the show but really the whole experience was wonderful. The food was on point- it was so hard to decide what to eat because it all looked and sounded perfect. Our waitress was awesome- took our pictures, brought us complimentary birthday shooters and we both were given little birthday cakes. What an amazing day.

I went on a Thursday for the Art event where they have an artist painting a canvas for the night which gets auctioned off the following week. There were aerialists performing at regular intervals which was still in theme with the restaurant. There is a $50 per person minimum, so if you get the $35 pre fixe menu, you will need to balance it out with extra appetizers or drinks. The other notable point is that if you do not continue to order and you are at one of the VIP tables (or booth), there is a 2 hour limit to your seating. That is not mentioned anywhere, including in the menu. Service is excellent, but beware of the flash police as they don't let you use a flash during any performance.

The ambiance is very unique, and it's a very cool concept with the "shows" occurring on about a quarter hour basis. We had great seats on the front row of the balcony, directly across from the stage. The food was surprisingly good: the fondue was good; the foie gras amazing; and the steaks were flavored really well. The drinks were overpriced by any standard, even NYC. The biggest complaint was the service. It wasn't that it was bad, it was just seemed disjointed, and not very attentive. This is probably because the place struggles a bit to decide whether it's a fine dining restaurant or a trendy club scene. It was odd to have them start moving tables out and have people start standing around our table before we were done eating.

We had a wonderful experience watching the dancers and eating. All dancers and acrobat were excellent. It is a very unique place. It's definitely pricey so make sure you bring your A game with your wallet. It's for those special occasions. The food was excellent. The lamb chops are cooked to perfection and the scallops are excellent as well. You will not be disappointed when you go as long as you're prepared to spend some money. Our server was excellent. I've never been to such a unique place and it was worth the experience. All classy dancing were performed. Natasha and the Acrobat (I forgot her name) were phenomenal. I hope the restaurant never let's them go because they are the main attraction. They perform pure art and uniqueness.

We heard Great reviews from our DC friends. We were coming from Baltimore MD & I have never heard of Sax but it is so uniquely designed my Husband was blown away for his surprise dinner. Our waiter was ok she really didn't explain the food selections to us & when we asked her questions she was kind of short with our her answer. My husband said she seemed as if she didn't want to be a work today ;( Other than that it was worth every penny I order the Monkfish & my husband had Duck for the first time & both dishes were amazing but small so we order salads. Our Salads were so delicious and very fresh A+! They gave my husband bday a small red velvet cake & 2 bday shots! We will definitely be back!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 31st birthday Brunch. The ambiance, decor, and Burlesque show was pleasantly surprising. They kept up their end of the bargain with bottomless Mimosas. My glass never reached the middle, before it was filled to the rim. I would definitely return to dine here again. I wasn't necessarily impressed with the food. It was OK. However, I would like to try their dinner as opposed to Brunch. Sax DC made my 31st birthday a memorable one.

It was told to me by a friend who visited Sax before that reservations had to be made in order to get a table. I made reservations online, but thought I didn't complete, so I called to confirm. I had guest from out of town and wanted to take her somewhere nice. 3 of us went. Had a couple of drinks at the bar, while waiting for our table. Once we finished dining, our waitress informed/reminded me that there was a $75 min pp (+tax and gratuity) when reserving a table on Sat. That info is not on the website, yet its in a confirmation email which I had no reason to read because I already confirmed on the phone. End up paying close to $400 but only ordered $175 in food and drinks. Info should definitely be on the website

This was my second time to Sax. The first time was a party of 6 and the entertainment was incredible. On the weekends there is a $75 per person minimum. This visit was not near as fun. The waitress was pushing us to free the table for a birthday group. We were told we had a two hour window. It felt rushed and to spend $75 we had to rush through our courses. Also, they no longer have a fire dancer which is still on their website. The dancers were good but I wasn't wowed like the prior visit. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. And it is one block from Metro Center!

This was on a list of DC things to do that my friends and I had made. We used a gilt deal for brunch for 4. One of our friends had been there for dinner before. She said the food was better at dinner. The food was fine, but it wasn't great. Our waitress, Solo, was very attentive. She gave honest recommendations on the food, kept our drinks refilled, and was overall fantastic. The show was fun and I think the ambiance of this place lends itself to large groups. I would definitely come back for a special occasion with a group or a fun dinner before a night out.

I went to Sax on Sunday for the first time to celebrate my fiancée birthday and propose! Awesome interior - very intimate lounge feel that's a bit on the dark side. Candles on every table add to the intimate atmosphere. Our servers were excellent. Not hoovering but on top of things in terms of being considerate that I was celebrating her birthday and proposing making sure we weren't in need of anything. There were only 2 of us (who don't really drink) and they gave us all free delicious birthday shots! They also gave my fiancée a small little rich tasting red velvet cake and more complimentary drinks for our engagement.. :-) Very supportive! It's a great restaurant with entertainment I say a perfect date place.

Okay.. so I will admit that I purchased a GILT City certificate for 4 to have Brunch at SAX. I planned to take some great family/friends when they came into town from LA. I had done a quick scan on SAX website and liked the way the venue looked - loaded with character. I didn't realize that it was a Burlesque Brunch... OH MY.. we had a BALL. Requested a great table and attentive server to enhance the experience for my guest as we were celebrating our birthdays. The restaurant went all out. Food and drinks were amazing. Pristine service... when they say bottomless drinks.. they keep their word. Many other ladies celebrating birthdays as well.. so restaurant turned into a club.. We danced off most of the Bottomless Beverages...

SAX is a fantastic place to drink, eat and catch an awesome show. Prices are high but not too high. The one thin to be careful of is at a dimly lit table it is difficult to see that 20% has been added already to your check. That could (and did) result in an extra 20% being added in the tip section which is blank. I hope my server enjoyed her $70+ tip from the easy going table of 2. That was disturbing but other than that the evening was spectacular.

The menu continues to change and am not a fan of the current menu. I visited Sax on 10/1 ordered the striped sea bass and it was a no go,I had it replaced w/the short ribs, they were tasty but the mashed potatoes were way too whipped and reminded me of instant potatoes out of the box. The asparagus was saturated in evoo. I visited again on 10/8 ordered the ribeye and my friend had the lamb chops that was ok. My 1st time @ Sax was last year and I enjoyed the menu selections.Which lead me to going back 3 times in 2 months. The truffle fries are consistent as is the entertainment. I hope their next menu change is more appetizing & flavorful. I will continue to visit Sax because I enjoy the ambience, entertainment and of course truffle fries

This was a great experience, the food is a little pricey but understandable when you realize it's dinner and a show. Was annoyed though when the server told us we were at our two hour time limit for our table even though there were still many many empty tables in the restaurant. We were planning on staying and having dessert but left and went to Zaytenya instead! We had a fun time but left annoyed because of this policy.

This was our first visit to Club Sax. It was a Friday when their shows feature a Cirque du Soleil type show with acrobatic dancers, mildly risqué dancers, aerialists and a truly great juggler. The acts were approximately every 15 minutes during our visit which allowed for enjoyable dining and conversation between acts. The venue allows great viewing from most seating areas. The monkfish and rib eye steak dishes we had were very enjoyable. Friday per person minimums are $75 per person before tax and gratuity which is really quite reasonable for the combination of food, drink, atmosphere and show which Club Sax provides. Give this a try and enjoy the show!

I went to SAX on Thursday evening. When we got there, we were informed they were closing early for a private event and to make sure we were okay w/ it (we were). The drinks were excellent. The popcorn is so tasty; I couldn't figure out what they put on it, but it was magic. My friend and I opted to split 2 meals because it all sounded so good. We went w/ the ribeye and butter poached lobster. Both dishes were amazing! The service was great, and we didn't feel rushed at all. We were surprised with a game, picking a card, in which won free "toasts" - nice way to start off the night! The show was fun. I thought the shows were only on the weekends, so it was an unexpected surprise! Would be fun for a bachelorette brunch or birthday!

The ambience was nice. My friend is allergic to bananas and it seemed everything was premade with bananas. We asked for the brunch smoothie with no bananas but he was brought one with bananas anyway, the guy insisted it was banana free...he spoke very little English. My friend didn't get to eat the bread or have the smoothie, but was charged for the full meal. That kind of sucked....so anyone with an allergy I wouldn't recommend brunch. The ambience is very nice though and the entertainment was good.

Planned my friend's bachelorette here for Saturday night, and it was great for that. The food is overpriced but it's good, and the ambiance is fun and feels like a special occasion. Beware though: it says this in small print on their website, but I missed it: there is a $75 per person minimum for dinner. Also, the place turns into a club at around 11 -- it got very loud! In all: it was great and memorable for a special girl's night, but I can't see myself going back!
