This was on a list of DC things to do that my friends and I had made. We used a gilt deal for brunch for 4. One of our friends had been there for dinner before. She said the food was better at dinner. The food was fine, but it wasn't great. Our waitress, Solo, was very attentive. She gave honest recommendations on the food, kept our drinks refilled, and was overall fantastic. The show was fun and I think the ambiance of this place lends itself to large groups. I would definitely come back for a special occasion with a group or a fun dinner before a night out.

I went to Sax on Sunday for the first time to celebrate my fiancée birthday and propose! Awesome interior - very intimate lounge feel that's a bit on the dark side. Candles on every table add to the intimate atmosphere. Our servers were excellent. Not hoovering but on top of things in terms of being considerate that I was celebrating her birthday and proposing making sure we weren't in need of anything. There were only 2 of us (who don't really drink) and they gave us all free delicious birthday shots! They also gave my fiancée a small little rich tasting red velvet cake and more complimentary drinks for our engagement.. :-) Very supportive! It's a great restaurant with entertainment I say a perfect date place.

Okay.. so I will admit that I purchased a GILT City certificate for 4 to have Brunch at SAX. I planned to take some great family/friends when they came into town from LA. I had done a quick scan on SAX website and liked the way the venue looked - loaded with character. I didn't realize that it was a Burlesque Brunch... OH MY.. we had a BALL. Requested a great table and attentive server to enhance the experience for my guest as we were celebrating our birthdays. The restaurant went all out. Food and drinks were amazing. Pristine service... when they say bottomless drinks.. they keep their word. Many other ladies celebrating birthdays as well.. so restaurant turned into a club.. We danced off most of the Bottomless Beverages...

SAX is a fantastic place to drink, eat and catch an awesome show. Prices are high but not too high. The one thin to be careful of is at a dimly lit table it is difficult to see that 20% has been added already to your check. That could (and did) result in an extra 20% being added in the tip section which is blank. I hope my server enjoyed her $70+ tip from the easy going table of 2. That was disturbing but other than that the evening was spectacular.

The menu continues to change and am not a fan of the current menu. I visited Sax on 10/1 ordered the striped sea bass and it was a no go,I had it replaced w/the short ribs, they were tasty but the mashed potatoes were way too whipped and reminded me of instant potatoes out of the box. The asparagus was saturated in evoo. I visited again on 10/8 ordered the ribeye and my friend had the lamb chops that was ok. My 1st time @ Sax was last year and I enjoyed the menu selections.Which lead me to going back 3 times in 2 months. The truffle fries are consistent as is the entertainment. I hope their next menu change is more appetizing & flavorful. I will continue to visit Sax because I enjoy the ambience, entertainment and of course truffle fries

This was a great experience, the food is a little pricey but understandable when you realize it's dinner and a show. Was annoyed though when the server told us we were at our two hour time limit for our table even though there were still many many empty tables in the restaurant. We were planning on staying and having dessert but left and went to Zaytenya instead! We had a fun time but left annoyed because of this policy.

This was our first visit to Club Sax. It was a Friday when their shows feature a Cirque du Soleil type show with acrobatic dancers, mildly risqué dancers, aerialists and a truly great juggler. The acts were approximately every 15 minutes during our visit which allowed for enjoyable dining and conversation between acts. The venue allows great viewing from most seating areas. The monkfish and rib eye steak dishes we had were very enjoyable. Friday per person minimums are $75 per person before tax and gratuity which is really quite reasonable for the combination of food, drink, atmosphere and show which Club Sax provides. Give this a try and enjoy the show!

I have been several Times and always enjoy myself and like trying all the specialty cocktails. The shows are fun to watch and make for an enjoyable night out. My only complaint is most times when you make a request Sax either doesn't care or doesn't read the requests as I have never received my seating preference even when there is plenty of room

I went to SAX on Thursday evening. When we got there, we were informed they were closing early for a private event and to make sure we were okay w/ it (we were). The drinks were excellent. The popcorn is so tasty; I couldn't figure out what they put on it, but it was magic. My friend and I opted to split 2 meals because it all sounded so good. We went w/ the ribeye and butter poached lobster. Both dishes were amazing! The service was great, and we didn't feel rushed at all. We were surprised with a game, picking a card, in which won free "toasts" - nice way to start off the night! The show was fun. I thought the shows were only on the weekends, so it was an unexpected surprise! Would be fun for a bachelorette brunch or birthday!

The ambience was nice. My friend is allergic to bananas and it seemed everything was premade with bananas. We asked for the brunch smoothie with no bananas but he was brought one with bananas anyway, the guy insisted it was banana free...he spoke very little English. My friend didn't get to eat the bread or have the smoothie, but was charged for the full meal. That kind of sucked....so anyone with an allergy I wouldn't recommend brunch. The ambience is very nice though and the entertainment was good.

Planned my friend's bachelorette here for Saturday night, and it was great for that. The food is overpriced but it's good, and the ambiance is fun and feels like a special occasion. Beware though: it says this in small print on their website, but I missed it: there is a $75 per person minimum for dinner. Also, the place turns into a club at around 11 -- it got very loud! In all: it was great and memorable for a special girl's night, but I can't see myself going back!

The furnishings look like a bordello. The "entertainment" is of high school quality. The front desk employees don't know what the are doing. The wait staff is uninformed. The noise level is over the top; can't converse, because of the level of background music. The food is hotel quality. A restaurant should serve bread. The dress code, business casual, which they advertise as strictly enforced, is not enforced. No jackets and short sleeves are permitted.

Tries SAX based on location, menu and reviews. SAX is different. It feels like a restaurant that belongs in Las Vegas with its decor, dolled up waitresses and entertainment. Every 15 min or so there is a different performance. They range from dance routines with poles to jugglers. Most of the performances take place behind a mirror above the bar. The best entertainer was a woman who hangs above the bar and does acrobatics on a hoop. Entertainment aside, the service was mediocre, the drinks were just ok and the food was terribly salty. I would consider going again with a group to have drinks and apps, but no meal.

I read other reviews and thought this would be a good choice for my husband's birthday. Initially the service was prompt and attentive. But when the waitress took our orders (five of us) she didn't write anything down. Our first reaction was, "Wow, she's really good." Until the wrong entrees came out and my guests had to wait to get the right meals. No apologies, no explanations. Pretty disappointing.

They really made it a priority to take care of us and make it a special evening for my friend's birthday celebration. Waitstaff and management continuously checked in with us to ensure we were taken care of and having a good time. Sax is a great place to go to soak up some great neighborhood fun. The red velvet curtains, gold accents and hanging chandeliers add to this fun. We were there for a bachelorette party and we had a fantastic time. Things to be aware of: drinks are anywhere from 14-18 a piece so bring lots of money. And, after two hour of being in the lounge, they made us feel like we had to leave. The waitress brought the check over like we were only allowed to be there for a couple hours, which in the end it hurt the business because we would have stayed probably way too long :)

Found SAX online as I wanted something other than my usual choosing of restaurants. A bit crazy, a lot of sexy, & cool (as in different). LOVE the ambiance & decor. I would describe it as old Renaissance & something out of a Dracula movie. There is a burlesque show every ~15 min or so and the entertainment is 'interesting' but diverse. Food was OK, but expected this from reviews.. The duck was chewy & almost inedible. The slow-cooked braised ribs were actually good. Dessert was terrible. Despite the raves on their cocktails, I am not a cocktail drinker thus cannot comment on that. Overall, if you want a fun place to go that is an alternative to a sit-down dinner, even (& probably better) with friends, this is it.

The show was very good something different for DC restaurants. However this is still a restaurant and the food should have been the star of the show. The food at best was average however the price was expensive another reason why I expected the food to compliment the excellent décor. The food were plated very well however the taste which was very bland did not match the presentation. Out of a table of four the only person happy with their selection was the person who ordered Grilled Rib eye steak. The rest of our table had Artichoke Ravioli, Seared Scallops, and Chilean Sea Bass and we all were not happy with our selection.

My girlfriend and I went here at 7pm for our anniversary dinner and it was everything we wanted. The interior must have been deigned by an attractive gay Italian vampire. The service was attentive and timely. The performers were sexy but mostly impressively athletic, leaving us wondering if they work here on their nights off from circ du solei. The food was far better than most of the reviews led me to expect. The whole package was expensive, but a memorable experience and therefore good value for the money. Finally, the people watching was spot on.

So much fun if you're looking for a romantic night out. Food is really delicious, drinks are strong and really yummy, the dessert was the only thing that was lacking. My only complaint is it was so loud that it was impossible to hold a conversation. Luckily the shows that happen ever 10 minutes are superb and made the evening still very enjoyable.
