  • "Waited 65 minutes for our meal and were told it was because we ordered our steaks medium well. My wife's steak was raw! Manager told us it will be 12 minutes to cook another one. WHAT??? why did it take so long the first time? At no time were we offered anything free drinks, appertizers or even a discount. When we complained to the manager all he could say was " I don't know what to say" We watched other people being seated and get their meals before us. After waiting 20 more minutes we got up and left. Wasted 85 minutes of our lives in this restaurant...to bad we have gone there many times but no excuse for the poor service."

  • "My friend and I went to the Sawmill, Fort Saskatchewan on Monday, March 31st for an early supper. As an appetizer, we really enjoyed the pot stickers. These were such tasty, moist and succulent little bites of delight. The spinach salad failed to impress. A handful of spinach with a small sliced egg on the side and some sliced dried tomatoes (or ham??? Couldn't tell) I didn't enjoy that at all, simply because I could make the same thing at home without any culinary talent. We chose to share a 7 oz. steak with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was perfectly prepared...that's what I'm talking about guys! The service was excellent! The manager came by to check on us. I told him we had a great meal, since most of it was fantastic."

Come on folks there are other vegetables out there besides broccoli. In the FIVE PLUS YEARS I have been going to Edmonton area Sawmills the seasonal vegetable is always SAME OLD BORING BROCCOLI."

  • "Have eaten here a few times now! We had our 25th Anniversary with 20 people! Everyone was happy with their meal & the service! The ambience is really nice! Had the Sunday Brunch and again was very good, service was slow to start but picked up later! Lots of breakfast items, pancakes & waffles with whipped cream & toppings, roast beef and ham carved to your liking, omelette station, chicken & fish choices as well as rice, eggs benidict, etc! Also nice selection of salads, shrimp cocktail, a whole cooked salmon, cheeses, fruit & desserts! Have also had lunch a few times and was really impressed with the lunch choices! Overall a very good restaurant, abit pricey but worth it :)"

  • "Everything lived up to the hype. As we had a concert to go to later in the evening we were a little concerned about the wait time. We had nothing to worry about as we were served in a timely fashion. The prime rib was excellent as was the vegetable served with it. I love the buns that are served at the beginning. Great atmosphere. And a staff that is right on top of things. We had escargot as an appetizer and it was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "When we arrived we were seated promptly. The restaurant was steady but by no means was it busy. I noticed several very large parties seated and we noticed the attention they were getting - appeared to be good service. Our waitress appeared 1 minute of us being seated, and took our drink order. Then when returned 1 minute later, took our dinner order. With in I would say 5-10 minutes we had our appetizers - the service was quick - everyone had a smile on their face and appeared to like what they were doing. The food was very good. The restaurant got busier but the level of service never went down. Our small party of two was not lost in the crowds and parties of 10+. We loved everything about our experience and we are going back. Great Job."

  • "There was 6 diners in our group. We had a cozy round table in the corner so we could converse with everyone. The service was very good and the waitress was happy and very attentive. I had chicken neptune served with a salad and a huge branch of broccoli topped with hollandaise sauce. The chicken was very tasty with crab meat and shrimp toppinig with hollandaise sauce. All our party had a good meal and good time. A nice way to celebrate my birthday as I have a Loyalty program card and got a $25.00 discount. Just sign up and you are entitled to a birthday meal."

  • "Definitely not a family affair but defiantly somewhere to go if you want to impress the boss or soon to be partner. Found the prices a bit high, the Calimari chewy but the Prime Rib made up for it. I would go back, but without the kids. Although they were defiantly old enough to enjoy adult dining, it's just not the place for pre- teens in my opinion, they would have a better time at Fat Burger. Found a very thick black hair in the Calimari, the staff were genuinely embarrassed. They offered another appy and complimentary deserts that we took advantage of but were unnecessary as we had plenty enough to eat. Overall a nice evening out with my family"

The salad came out right away which was ok, but our main meal came out before we were finished our salad. There wasn't enough room for all the plates on the table so I just gave my salad plate before I could finish. I think we were there for 45mins. Will come back though. Love the sawmill. Thx"

Had a new york strip, done to medium rare, steak was good didn't add any extras, may do that next time as it was a bit plain, not really seared, almost seemed like it was pan fried ???? Will go again."

I was really looking forward to it because I've been to the sawmill brunch in sherwood park and was expecting the same in the fort. Service was very good but I was disappointed in the brunch. The way the tables were layout only allowed one line to file through. This caused about 10 to 15 people to be in line at a time. One station for omelets made for a big line as well. The food was good but not great. I expected more of a selection for the price."

  • "We started with the crab cakes - they were delicious! The wilted greens which were the garnish could have been replaced with parsley ( although they didn't deter from the flavor, the looks .....meh). My husband asked for medium rare prime rib and it was very rare; we noticed the table across from us sending back its' prime rib meal to be cooked more. What is the point of Yorkshire pudding other than taking up space? Very bland flavor. He didn't finish it and after tasting it, I wouldn't have either. My meal was great - the blackened cod was cooked to perfection. Order it if you like spicy food. I realize rice is probably cooked in mass production, but maybe steam it up a bit before serving, so it's not quite so dry. We'll be back."

Pancakes in covered serving dish was turn off, you should be able to make your own fresh waffle. No eggs Benedict. I've eaten at Sherwood Park Sawmill for Mother's Day and was excellent. I'll pass on the Fort Sawmill for Brunch in future."

  • "This was an excellent choice for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary, (yes, I said sixty). The service was impeccable, the food was perfect. Yes, it is pricy, but for a special occasion, well worth the price paid. The only downside was the table opposite us. They felt compelled to complain about everything. Honestly, from what I overheard, (as the woman was annoyingly loud), it sounded more like someone hoping to scam a free meal. Without question, I will be a repeat diner."

It's known for it's beef and when one of us ordered a seafood neptune to enhance the steak it came out like it was frozen and cooked.Suggest if they offer this that they pay attention to serving fresh tasting Neptune."
