A word from Savona
SAVONA, SCARSDALE is the second location of ZAGAT Top 5 Italian Restaurant, SAVONA, in Philadelphia. Consistent, creative, high quality dining and seamlessly orchestrated service has been the hallmark of SAVONA's success for 15 years. Now, Executive Chef, Andrew Masciangelo, and Chef de Cuisine, Eric Goods, offer their soulful regional Italian cooking here in Westchester, New York. Their farm to table philosophy involves handling products as few times as possible to capture the natural flavor intensity of each ingredient. Culinary excellence is supported by a killer wine program featuring an extensive array of wines by the glass created by Fred Dex, Master Sommelier and Yohann Zinier, GM/Wine Director. A 20 foot white marble bar, sexy lighting, dramatic drapery, contemporary leather chairs and thick butcher block tables set the stage for high quality dining. We look forward to welcoming you to SAVONA. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "overpriced for the quality of food, although they have terrific deserts"

  • "A great place. The food, service and ambience are all outstanding."

  • "The restaurant was fairly empty. The service deteriorated drastically throughout the meal. The waiter disappear rarer after we oredered. The appetizers were quick but the entrees took forever. The waiter took ten minutes to offer us cheese for our pasta. The check took forever as well. We had to search for the awaited many times as he never checked on us. The food was mediocre at best. The sausage pasta had very little taste."

  • "Food was solid. Love the pasta and the gelato dessert w/ espresso."

  • "My husband and I have been enjoying the food at Savona since it opened. The food--and warm, lively atmosphere--have always been a delight. Our recent dinner there with friends was no exception. Fabulous appetizers, pizzas, pastas, main courses, desserts ...and a terrific wine list will keep us coming back for more. Top-notch!"

  • "good local spot; busy bar; not attentive service; would go back because it is convenient"

  • "If only the Chicken under a brick was not so good. Then I would try other things. But, I can't seem to manage it."

  • "The food was excellent. Great wine choices. Prices of menu were exorbitant. Classic Scarsdale attitude in charging such prices. Not kid friendly at all."
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "Nice decor, friendly service, but the food was way overpriced for the quality and creativity. the escarole was terrible, the filet mignon overcooked, the dish very basic."

  • "Pretty restaurant, but disappointing dining experience.Margherita pizza crust like cardboard."

  • "The restaurant is a sophisticated, lively place with a beautiful setting and amazing food. It is decidedly an adult place, with a great crowd... But as a mom of two teenage boys, I appreciate that they always make us feel welcome when we want to go out for a family dinner. The pastas are extraordinary, all handmade and they change with the seasons. Love the crostini, the fried artichoke, the wood-fired pizzas... The specials are creative and the entrees are wonderful. A meal can get expensive - the other night, we shared crostini, had three pastas and I had a glass of wine, and that was $100 - but you never feel like you didn't get your money's worth. We go at least once or twice a month."

  • "Love everything about this place. Waist staff is very accommodating and professional. Food is delicious . Creative menu without being overly fussy. Large bar. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We have always had great service at Savona, but this past Sunday evening they may have been short-staffed as our waiter seemed to be servicing every table in the restaurant and our service suffered due to that. The waiter was good, but it was just too much for him to handle. I strongly recommend the restaurant consider having sufficient staff as we were not the only ones there feeling it. As usual, the food and ambience were excellent though."

  • "I wanted to take my parents to a nice meal and show them my favorite part of Scarsdale- we were seated right away. This wasn't the restaurants' fault but there was a party of 10 with young kids right next to us-The service was a little slowed down by them and the kids were noisy. I didn't expect that for a "higher caliber" restaurant like this. The tables were pretty close together. Food was delicious- a bit pricey and some portions on the small side. The wine was a bit overpriced by the glass- I can buy a whole bottle of similar California wine for the price that they change for the glass. I had risotto but it was not enough- thank goodness for the bread on the table. The fried artichokes were delicious. A nice meal but expensive."

  • "All the food was fine, except the pizza. I ordered the margherita pizza, which was basically just dough and sauce. If there was one entire basil leaf scattered on it, that was a lot. Not one slice of tomato. And a few sparse rounds of cheese. Very disappointing for a place that bills itself as "artisinal pizza makers""

  • "The food here while having many Italian dishes, is not serving up the ordinary. The pastas were chosen with special care with an eye to the sauces. The combinations were offerings of comfort, but not heavy, not overly heavy portions either. The appetizers were a nice range of choices, but if you like artichokes, Savona's are delicious and elegant wrapped in a white cloth napkin. The wines were a fine selection."

  • "This restaurant used to be special, but the last few times the food was mediocre. Chicken overcooked again.. Salad just so-so. That will be the last time for me."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Extremely noisy. Tables crammed together. No ventilation in corner area."

  • "We dine at Savona at least once a month. The food never disappoints us and the service is always professional. We started with a sampling of meats, cheeses and crostini's. All delicious. My fish was a nice size and cooked perfectly. They cook several fishes the same way with the accompaniments. We had an ice cream sandwich for dessert. Yummy!"

  • "My hubby and I went for Valentines Day and love, love, LOVED! it. Starting with the Crostini is the best way to begin your meal - they were delicious. My husband had the mussels and I ordered the beet salad which was fabulous. We brought our own bottle of (old) wine and payed the $30 corkage fee and shared a glass with the very nice sommelier. Altogether a delightful evening"

  • "Loved the braised lamb, striped bass prepared to perfection! 5 different crostini appetizers-scrumptious, unique and fresh. Leave room for the desserts: brownies and fresh cream and mini donuts and dipping sauces. Service excellent. Been there 3 times. This place is a gem."

  • "I have eaten at Savona on at least 5 occasions and can only give it rave reviews. Each experience has been very good - the food is excellent, the wait staff are quite attentive, and the panna cotta dessert is excellent! Also, try the 'home-made' chips that are at the bar. If you ask, your waiter will bring some to your table."

  • "Missed the red sangria...the bar didn't make them on NYE....their sangria is delicious. ..bass was overcooked...sent it back...second piece cooked right...waitress very accomodating about the return. Always a nice time there."

  • "There is definitely something to be said about knowing what you are going to get and Savona does not dissapoint on any level. I have been there 3-4 times and the experience has always been great. The food is outstanding and the Chef accommodating. The service has a really good balance between polite and attentive. Atmosphere is friendly and upbeat - a real asset to have in Scarsdale."

  • "I thought the food was good but the wines by the glass expensive for the pour. Service generally good. Sometimes it felt like they were trying to clean up before we were ready. A positive experience!"

  • "Very nice dining experience, but one complaint. After ordering a bottle of wine, we decided on two more glasses of house wine. Got the bill, and it was $17 for each glass for house wine!!! A little off-putting for me. Food was tasty; service was pretty good. But this was a concern - stick to the bottles!"

  • "Really good food and lively environment. The service was very professional but tended to be a bit slow. The room is nice but a bit sparse."
    Dined on 10/12/2013
  • "Very disappointing: 1. Overpriced (see #2). 2. Very small portions of food. The grilled branzino that was my entre` measured 2 inches by 6 inches and cost $30.00. 3. I asked three times for potato chips like the ones served at the bar. We never received them. 4. I asked that the sausage and pasta appetizer have no cheese due to an allergy. When the dish was served, the sauce had cheese in it. I can smell cheese a mile away. I did not eat it. The waiter still charged me for it. We will not return here."
