  • "The restaurant was fairly empty. The service deteriorated drastically throughout the meal. The waiter disappear rarer after we oredered. The appetizers were quick but the entrees took forever. The waiter took ten minutes to offer us cheese for our pasta. The check took forever as well. We had to search for the awaited many times as he never checked on us. The food was mediocre at best. The sausage pasta had very little taste."

  • "The restaurant is a sophisticated, lively place with a beautiful setting and amazing food. It is decidedly an adult place, with a great crowd... But as a mom of two teenage boys, I appreciate that they always make us feel welcome when we want to go out for a family dinner. The pastas are extraordinary, all handmade and they change with the seasons. Love the crostini, the fried artichoke, the wood-fired pizzas... The specials are creative and the entrees are wonderful. A meal can get expensive - the other night, we shared crostini, had three pastas and I had a glass of wine, and that was $100 - but you never feel like you didn't get your money's worth. We go at least once or twice a month."

  • "We have always had great service at Savona, but this past Sunday evening they may have been short-staffed as our waiter seemed to be servicing every table in the restaurant and our service suffered due to that. The waiter was good, but it was just too much for him to handle. I strongly recommend the restaurant consider having sufficient staff as we were not the only ones there feeling it. As usual, the food and ambience were excellent though."

  • "I wanted to take my parents to a nice meal and show them my favorite part of Scarsdale- we were seated right away. This wasn't the restaurants' fault but there was a party of 10 with young kids right next to us-The service was a little slowed down by them and the kids were noisy. I didn't expect that for a "higher caliber" restaurant like this. The tables were pretty close together. Food was delicious- a bit pricey and some portions on the small side. The wine was a bit overpriced by the glass- I can buy a whole bottle of similar California wine for the price that they change for the glass. I had risotto but it was not enough- thank goodness for the bread on the table. The fried artichokes were delicious. A nice meal but expensive."

  • "All the food was fine, except the pizza. I ordered the margherita pizza, which was basically just dough and sauce. If there was one entire basil leaf scattered on it, that was a lot. Not one slice of tomato. And a few sparse rounds of cheese. Very disappointing for a place that bills itself as "artisinal pizza makers""

  • "The food here while having many Italian dishes, is not serving up the ordinary. The pastas were chosen with special care with an eye to the sauces. The combinations were offerings of comfort, but not heavy, not overly heavy portions either. The appetizers were a nice range of choices, but if you like artichokes, Savona's are delicious and elegant wrapped in a white cloth napkin. The wines were a fine selection."

My fish was a nice size and cooked perfectly. They cook several fishes the same way with the accompaniments. We had an ice cream sandwich for dessert. Yummy!"

  • "My hubby and I went for Valentines Day and love, love, LOVED! it. Starting with the Crostini is the best way to begin your meal - they were delicious. My husband had the mussels and I ordered the beet salad which was fabulous. We brought our own bottle of (old) wine and payed the $30 corkage fee and shared a glass with the very nice sommelier. Altogether a delightful evening"

I have been there 3-4 times and the experience has always been great. The food is outstanding and the Chef accommodating. The service has a really good balance between polite and attentive. A little off-putting for me. Food was tasty; service was pretty good. But this was a concern - stick to the bottles!"

I asked three times for potato chips like the ones served at the bar. We never received them. 4. I asked that the sausage and pasta appetizer have no cheese due to an allergy. When the dish was served, the sauce had cheese in it. I can smell cheese a mile away. I did not eat it. The waiter still charged me for it. We will not return here."
