The vegetarian pasta was dissappointngly bland (could have used more salt and some spice), but the asparagas soup was amzaingly good and made up for it. Everyone else loved their meals.

We have been to Savino several times before but this was by far the best dinner we had there. Their menu is limited but everything we ordered was wonderful. We had warm spinich salad, tagliatelle with squash sauce, and sword fish with resotto. The price is modest, too.

I wish that I could eat supper every night at Savino's! The pan sauteed calamari and chorizo tasted delicious and fresh. Perfectly grilled flat iron steak with roasted fingerling potato and broccoli rabe. Medium rare moulard duck breast with fried polenta of goat cheese. The waiter and other staff were excellent. They knew when to serve and when to monitor the table. I am always pleased when I dine at Savino's.

We were looking forward to a positive dining experience, based upon past reviews we read. When I ordered a glass of Riesling, the waiter asked me, in a rather patronizing tone, whether I was aware that Riesling is a rather syrupy and sweet wine. His comment was uncalled for, unsolicited, and led to an uncomfortable moment. The pork rib chop was single cut, which explains why my request for "medium" doneness resulted in well-done and very dry. And expensive for the size of the cut. My wife;s half roast chicken was likewise dry. Not a great experience.

It's a beautiful, romantic gem in Belmont with a menu foodies will love! Warm spinach salad on a cold night was an unexpected delight. The mahi mahi special of the night was perfect and the presentation spectacular as was their Herbed Papparadelle. The layout of the restaurant gives each table privacy and even as the evening progressed and it got packed with people, the noise level was not noticable. Wonderful hostess, wait staff and all that attended to us. We will check out their live jazz Thursdays as well as some of their other offerings. So happy to also not have to pay for parking!

Savino's is consistently excellent! I tried one of the pasta specials on Monday night Pasta night. It came with a choice of salad or soup, a pasta dish and dessert all for only $25. My Shrimp and farfalle in a cream sauce was perfect. I had walnut pie served warm with vanilla gelato - delicious. Others in my party had the duck breast, the zuppa di pesce and flat iron steak. All very very happy. Each was presented beautifully and smelled wonderful! I personally think this is the best restaurant in Belmont despite the hype that other trendy places get. Its a great place to relax and enjoy.

Reliably good food from a solid menu of mostly traditional dishes, a pleasant "grown-up" ambiance, attentive service and reasonable prices have kept me coming back for several years. My lamb shank was a hearty winter dish served in, if anything, a too generous portion. My companions duck was done just as ordered and delicious.

Savinos is a special place, elegant in a modern way -- hip and traditional. It has an swank bar that attracks people waiting for tables. The chef is devoted to his craft; he prepares each dish with care. We had duck, a small tasty squash, and spinach as well as dish with wide-noodles and a mix of vegetables in a lightly flavored sauce. Very nice. It left us comfortably full, not bloated --rich food but not heavy. The cocktails were fun. Try the hot cider with rum. The wine selection was also good. Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule and had to leave an hour 15 minutes after arrival to make a show. We would have loved to hang around for dessert and coffee.

My husband and I and our 15 year old daughter enjoyed dinner at Savinos on a Thursday night. Aside from the wonderful meal and service, we enjoyed some live jazz that they offer each Thursday night, which was unexpected since this was our first dining experience at this friendly Belmont Cushing Square neighborhood. All three salads were great - spinach, arugula and the caesar, and the pork was outstanding. My daughter enjoyed the vegetarian pasta dish but would have liked more pasta choices. We did not try deserts this visit but plan to when we return. Wine choices were good and affordably priced.

Savino's fare never fails to disappoint. The grilled foie gras is a treat, and you can't go wrong with seafood dishes. The roasted chicken is delectably crispy on the outside though slightly dry and could use some sauce. Best cosmos in the area!

Dined with my wife & 2 friends on a rainy Monday night. Decor is very attractive & restful. Although only 2 of about 20 tables were taken, we were first ushered to a table a few feet from the back wall of the bar, which blocked our view of the wide open space on the other side and which put us near bar noise. So, we moved. The menu is quite varied and interesting. I had a pork chop which was perfectly grilled, very tender and had just the right amount of garlic flavor. But the sauce was bland and nondescript, as was the sauce for my wife's breast of duck. In sum, great quality and preparation of the meats, but sauces that lack much of a taste. Interesting wine list, but waitress not know knowledgeable about it.

A first time for us -- to be repeated! Warm, inviting atmosphere, very pleasant, quiet decor with interestingly designed seating arrangements permitting very private small group (1-4) tables. Soft music, good mostly indirect lighting. Our waiter was very attentive, picked up on our preferences early and showed initiative in recognizing them later in the meal. The menu selection was terrific, and sides were chosen -- I'm guessing -- partly on the basis of permitting a colorful presentation. And everything, from a mussels appetizer through pork and filet entrees to dessert, was delicious. I highly recommend Savino's!

My husband and I loved this place. The tables are not square against the wall but diagonally tucked in (you have to see it) so we were both able to look out but had privacy from the diners next to us. The wine list is very varied, although we both just ordered a glass, also good selection available. Our appetizer, dinners, and dessert were delicious. I ordered the flat iron steak, tender and scrumptious with a wild mushroom sauce, which came with perfectly cooked blue potatoes and kale. The portion was generous and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered a veal dish with fettuccine. He loved it. We ordered the chocolate molten cake and the presentation was so beautiful, we took a while to dig in. It was scrumptious as well.

The food was delicious. I ordered the roasted veal with fettuccine and the pasta was homemade and although the plate looked small, it was quite a filling meal. However, my husband's meal, the scallops with couscous, was a little disappointing. Only four scallops and not enough food. I think their fixed price menu is a greatidea and they should continue to offer it. Maybe offer other $25 fixed price specials during the week. Or, extend the Monday pasta night from M-F. It's a great way to get people to try Savino's.

My meal was underwhelming for the price. I had a tilapia dish that was supposed to be encrusted, but it was more like the fish was just dipped in some spices. It was certainly not crisp as I would expect something encrusted to be. For an entree in the mid-$20s, it missed the mark. Ambiance was good however, and if you need a place in this immediate neighborhood it's not bad. Just to expect to overpay for what you get.

Great food, nice ambience, owner/executive chef came to table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and that food was good which was a great touch, deserts were AMAZING, I really have many great things to say about my dinner experience.....BUT our waitress had about as much warmth and personality as a wet mop! She was Totally un-personable, made my entire party feel like she was doing us a huge favor by acknowledging us at all. The poor girl who replenished our water glass and actually served our meals was a MILLION times nicer than the drippy, wanna-be (or not) waitress, who I don't believe, even gave us her name. Sorry, Savino's, either you need to hire a new wait staff OR train the current staff on what being a server should entail
