Savannah Chop HouseMother's DayI told my husband to pick out the restaurant, and knowing how much I LOVE Savahhah's-he did good! We got a booth which he had requested, and had a delightful dinner.
The wine list, as always made the choice somewhat difficult; but we found a good Hess Cab.
Our waitress was very efficient, and a delight.

I had the lamb, which was extremely delicious. My son and I also shared the Lobster Bisque and the creme brulee for dessert. It is like a tent enclosure so you aren't really out in the elements. We ordered before the large group in the room so our food was prompt and very good. The scallops were large and there were three, but a little sweet with the brulee sugar. The lamb was really outstanding. Would go again to order the lamb but on a less busy night and sit inside where it's quieter.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSteak was very dryI've been to some really good steak houses in my time, and this wasn't one of them. All of the sides and starters that we had were excellent, but the steak was average at best. The steak was cooked good, flavor wasn't bad either, but extremely dry and room temperature. There was not a drop of juice on the plate with my bone in rib-eye, or with my girlfriends fillet mignon. I'm a 230 lb guy and only ate half of my steak. Put it this way, I wanted to ask for A-1 (in a steak house) just so I could make the steak moist. I would eat there again, but I would order something other than a steak. While I understand that perhaps things happen and companies go out of business, I wonder how much business that particular restaurant received as result of gift cards in the past and think it would have been better customer service to honor it or at least give us some sort of discount on the check. And there's always a fun take home goody bag so the experience doesn't have to end when you leave. We are so glad they have started again, particularly now that we live within walking distance. The mix of plated entrees and buffet options is really nice, if a bit unusual, because you can order as many entrees as you want. We have been there twice in the last couple of weeks (with our small kids) and our servers have been incredibly nice. The buffet shrimp cocktail is really good, as is the caprese salad (although heavy on the balsalmic, the balance with the red onions is good).
