  • Private Party Facilities: Satis Bistro is approximately 2,500 square feet with two main dining rooms and seating for 75 people in total. The mezzanine dining area is perfect for smaller, more intimate affairs like birthdays or showers when less than 36 people are planned to be seated. Larger parties such as: weddings and fundraisers, require renting the entire restaurant which can be accommodated by request. There are an additional 25 seats at the wine bar, and 26 seats on the terrace for al fresco, seasonal dining. Outdoor seating for private events is only permitted when the entire restaurant is rented out. While Satis is typically closed Mondays and not open for lunch during the week, private parties and events can be arranged any day or time with advance notice.

Satis Bistro offers an eclectic European menu with several Italian, Spanish and French favorites among others. Satis is a casual dining establishment, open Tuesday-Sunday that offers wine and tapas bar in addition to a full menu. Also enjoy spacious outdoor seating seasonally on the terrace.

  • "Lovely dinner. We've eaten there several times before, and always outside, which is delightful. But outside was full, so we ate inside. Worried that it would be too noisy, but it was not, and at one point when the music got too loud, a nearby waiter turned it down immediately on our request. Food was terrific. The new veggie frito misto with aioli sauce was an outstanding appetizer, and the halibut was excellent as usual. I had the gnocchi, which was very good and cooked just right. Excellent service."

  • "I haven't been to Jersey City in about ten years and it seems my old favorites no longer exist. I found myself in the area and launched open table. My girlfriend and I decided that this place sounded good. We got there and found a great beer selection. Appetizers were light, healthy, and delicious. Our dinners came out prefect (halibut was especially good). We ate outside and I think there was a speaker unless it was someone in the neighborhood posting music. Either way I heard a few Mark Farina mushroom jazz tracks, so props for that too. Wait staff was friendly and attentive."

  • "Tried during RW2014 Summer. Though I generally am not a big fan of corns, I enjoyed corn cob which was a side of buttermilk fried chicken. Interestingly picked German chocolate cake sundae again, but it was not phenomenon. Outdoor seating available. Be careful about mosquito."

  • "Upon entering the restaurant and providing our Open Table reservation, we were provided our menus to peruse and literally throughout the course of our dining experience, never saw the waiter again. The order was taken, no effort made to request any wine or alcoholic beverages and the fine service by the bus staff was undertaken, but no effort was made to inquire about how we were enjoying our experience or food was undertaken. Consequently, although our food items – chicken and pork chop and tomato salad and shrimp was delicious, our sub par service of,being ignored was unacceptable and disappointing . When inquiring about whether a manager on duty was present, a card was thrust our way to discuss further. Terribly disappointing."

  • "Came here for restaurant week, which may have affected the quality of their dishes. The meat and cheese plate was delicious, which is what they're known for. However, the short rib, hanger steak, along with the fries, were so incredibly salty. The waiter said it was because European dishes are normally saltier than American, but I don't think so. it was just too much salt!"

  • "The service was excellent. Attentive and anticipated drink refills, etc without hovering. We loved the house made charcuterie and the simplest dishes such as a warm tallegio cheese crostini were smartly prepared and elevated to something wonderful. We enjoyed the Hudson Restaurant week menu but will be back because the food was excellent and the regular menu looked great! Very nice wine program with a wide range of wines by the glass."

  • "We went in for the Hudson Restaurant week and were seatly promptly at our reservation time.We had the salad and Gaspacho soup to start it. The soup was flavorful. Moving on to the entrees, I had the Gnocci and my husband had the risotto. Both were really really delicious!! :) The best that I have had for a long time.For the dessert, we got the german cake with 2 gelatos, whipped cream and caramel sauce and the Panacotta with fruits. The german cake was good, but nothing to rave about.The panacotta was deliche yum yum yum. So soft and yet firm with the right texture, we loved the panacotta. We will be definitely returning again.It is a little pricy if you come on a regular night, but for special occasions or lunch, this is a great restaurant"

  • "We have been here several times and each time, the food and ambiance are amazing. The service is also typically excellent, although it was a bit slow this time due to the fact that it was restaurant week and there were more patrons than usual. The ricotta gnocchi was amazing as always, and their cheese and meat plate selection was also great. We tried dessert for the first time and we were not disappointed-- the gelato and zeppolis were delicious."

  • "My husband and I went for dinner a few nights ago. The restaurant had recently changed the menu and we really wanted to try it. I had the head on shrimp with chorizo to start and my husband had a tomato salad. Both were excellent with very a flavorful sauce and dressing. We asked for more bread to dip. The lamb ribs with cherry sauce for dinner was just as good. My husband had gnocchi which he loved. Overall we love the new menu and highly recommend trying Satis Bistro."

  • "A group of 6 had dinner alfresco this past Saturday night. First time there and went from reviews in NYT and friends. It was such a lovely night so they accommodated us outside and we started with some of their signature drinks followed by starters, a selection from the salumeri and we all shared some very delicious entrees including my fav the short ribs. Ended with seriously yummy desserts and espresso. Service was friendly and efficient and all came in at a very reasonable tab. Highly recommend."

The food is absolutely delicious--everything you'd expect from the best NYC restaurants plus the charm of the Paulus Hook neighborhood. Servers were friendly and attentive. I ordered the halibut and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both entrees were cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the entrees and check out the brunch menu too!"

  • "I've been here several times before and found the service to be a little slow, but last time the staff must have been bored (kind of slow night) as the service was very sporadic. Took a while to get service and then once we had it, they wouldn't leave our table alone, kept trying to take our plates away. We were taking our times eating & talking, but there was no one waiting to be seated so don't know why they were rushing us out of there. We have all worked in food service at one time or another so are pretty sympathetic to the staff, but after awhile we just wanted to yell at everyone to leave us alone!"

  • "Every element of the meal was wonderful. The ambience is perfect for a date night or a girl's night out. I had the split pea soup, which very flavorful and fresh. The carbonara was really tastey. The pistastios on top of the pasta gave each bit a nice textual contrast. For desert, I had two scoops of creamy gelato (coconut and hazelnut). I don't normally have desert but I was so glad I did - the gelato rounded out the meal so well. The only complaint I have was that one of the servers had a bad attitude. The servers seem to divide their duties so at least I didn't need to deal with him all nice."

  • "Fantastic eggs benedict, brisket hash, and eggs cocotte. One of my favorite spots for brunch in Jersey City. Although the food took a while to arrive, they prepare everything to order, and the waiters are funny and sweet. I haven't tried their wine bar yet, but I've heard only great things!"

The food is consistently good with seasonal ingredients and European influences. You could also have a cheese and salumi plate and bottle of wine. Desserts are a bit decadent but goood. Check out the cozy wine bar attached for cocktails or happy hour."

I gave the service 3 stars based on the rudeness of a server towards my mother. He was not our server but that is no excuse to be rude. Our main server was great."

  • "I've been wanting to go for quite some time based on friends' recommendations. I finally had an evening with no plans and was able to make a reservation that afternoon, though by the time we arrived and while we sat there, they had to turn people away. Absolutely love the ambiance, the food was super delicious, and even the gelato was the best I ever had. (Even better than in Tuscany!) My wife had a berkshire pork chop with an incredible salsa verde (like chimmichurri) that was to die for and my tortilla espanola was absolutely delicious with the asparagus salad. Yum! I tend not to go to Jersey City because of the traffic and parking can be a pain, but I was lucky. No traffic & parking across the street. Couldn't get better than that."

  • "Friends recommended Satis and it lived up to its billing. Great food, from appetizers through mains. I had the pork chop, my wife had the lamb, both delicious and generous portions. We sat upstairs, next to a large family gathering celebrating a graduation. Still the noise level was moderate. The downstairs room seems like it would be more "dramatic," but don't know if it would be noisier. Be prepared to circle the block and still not find a parking spot - we went to a garage in a nearby high rise. And note to self - find a better route than the Holland Tunnel approach to get into Jersey City."

  • "Satis has great food, atmosphere, and service. The best part is that waiters anticipate, bringing what you need without having to ask. Three of us shared cheese and salumeria w olives, glistening and beautifully served. Our entrees were braised beef rib (no knife needed), and an order of roasted chicken that two of us split. Clean, clear flavor came through in every bite. I'll be back before long--so will my guests."

  • "We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Satis Bistro. We could not dine outside on their patio because of the severe weather, but we did get a nice corner table inside. I had the pork chop and my husband had the lamb. Both were very good. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely eat there again."

My husband likes the little cucumbers and marmalade that go with the bread and meat. The pasta entrees are a little salty sometimes, but the fish entrees are always good."

  • "My first time there but an interesting menu that grabs your attention. The ramp, pine nut and wild mushroom crostini was perfect and flavors really balanced well. Mangalitsa Prosciutto was another great small plate that was served with cornichons and an apricot/mustard that complemented the meat perfectly. Dinners were very good but I thought the Mangalitsa pork shank could have had a bit more flavor (plus it has a sauce) and a bit less cabbage (but still a good piece of meat). The halibut was near perfection. Pan seared with peas, fava's and pea tendrils. I liked my GF's dish better than mine but overall a gem for the neighborhood and with nice outdoor dining. Will be returning there before summer is through."
