Named after the owner’s youngest son, Satchel’s on 6th is the place to eat and drink. Our Chef has created a contemporary, eclectic, New American neighborhood menu using seasonal ingredients that results in refined flavors and inspired plates. Our service is friendly, atmosphere relaxed and sophisticated. Join us for Dinner, Sunday Service, or Happy Hour. We've put our heart and soul into this place and it gives us great pleasure to serve you.


Warm wood tones and exposed brick highlight this cozy, 50 seat space that has made its home on East Denver's reinvigorated 6th Avenue. Says Casalini, "Our goal is to become the best go-to, indispensable restaurant in the neighborhood. Period. End of story."

  • "After two visits, I view this restaurant much as I view Plimoth, only quieter. From its seasonal menu, we shared the heirloom tomato salad and the fried green tomato appetizers; both were amazing. Then to scallops over risotto (studded with just the right number of seasonal vegetables cooked al dente) and the steak with its picant chimichurri sauce. We finished with peach galette, with a marscapone crust, topped with Sweet Action's butterscotch ice cream: not too sweet, but everything perfectly balanced between crust, peach and ice cream. This is what I long for in a restaurant; attentive, not intrusive service, a noise level that does not inhibit conversation, generous portions and beautifully prepared food with some uniqueness."

  • "I've eaten at a Satchel's many times... good simple food, nice people, walking distance local spot. Two complaints - cocktails are really pricey, ice packed and small for what you get; wine and beer better priced. Last two times I've been it's been unbearably loud. Not sure what's happened but it doesn't feel so neighborhood gem like anymore. It was a Weds night and not late."

  • "Satchels is a bar with table on 2 sides. The food is very good; however, pricing is equal to Denver's best restaurants, but the food is not equal to that high standard. We had a duck breast that was excellent in every way. A salmon cooked in parchment was a valiant attempt to do something creative that failed. A $13 salad was OK but not equal to the price. Because we are 5 minutes away from the restaurant and there is ample parking we will try again."

  • "We loved our food and the service was exceptional. Different members of the staff stopped to see how our dinner was. Thoughtful but unobtrusive service. Our only complaint is that the music was a little too loud. It made talking harder than it should be at dinner. After all, while it's mostly a neighborhood spot, it's less of a bar and more of a really nice restaurant. Turn down the tunes just a little please."

The wine and cocktail selection are small, but you will find several things to adore. The food is truly magic in every bite, and I haven't had a dish I didn't love."

  • "We live within walking distance of Satchel's and have now been there about 5 times. We've never been disappointed. On Friday night everyone in our party of five ordered one small plate and a main dish. For small plates,we had mussels, lobster sliders and a cheese and meat plate. The mussels stood out. They were some of the tenderest I've had, and the broth was flavorful and delicately seasoned. I want to mention our server, who was excellent. We were in a talkative mood, and wanted to take our time ordering, and he gave us the space we needed without ever pressuring us. He recommended the salmon and duck to two members of our party who asked about main dishes, and both were very good. Another fine evening at a "neighborhood gem.""

  • "Feels like a fantastic chef is cooking just for you and your friends. Tailored menu where everything sounds delectable. We were greeted with the smell of smoked meat and the literally fresh out-of-the-smoker pork chop did not disappoint. It was tender, flavorful, outstanding. The duck breast also was delicious along with duck fat fries. Little disappointed by the duck confit (too salty, bit dry) and spring risotto was okay. But the excellence of the rest of the meal more than made up for it."

  • "We went there having never heard of it though we are the snooty foodie types. The place was small and quiet with a turntable playing cool records (loved that). Service was pretty good, the guy was working the bar and the floor so they could have used another person. Food was unique and delicious. Burrata salad was excellent, sea bass was good though the portion a tad on the small side. The vegetarian entree was quite good also. Did not have nay drinks of wine but the menu seemed to have a few artisan cocktails that looked interesting. We will be back. "

  • "We were looking for a good basic neighborhood joint, and this is it. Food we tried was good - not great - but certainly fine for the price and within our expectations. Paella was a little underseasoned, and not true paella - no rice crust on the bottom, not cooked in a paella pan; but it was certainly still tasty. Next time I might stick with something simpler, like a burger. Wine and beer list was strong, and wine pours were also generous. Excellent customer service and very nice ambiance. I am sure we will be back. "

  • "First time to visit Satchel's; may be the last.... Food was great, our server was extremely pleasant and efficient. I'm sure you wonder why we might not return? Well, on the other side of the restaurant there was a family, they had some connection to the owner/chef/other employees, don't exactly know, but they were LOUD with children who had the runof the place. Made for a noisy and unpleasant atmosphere. We were in and out in 45 minutes; didn't want to linger over a bottomless mimosa or coffee. Just sucked. Management needs to deal with THEIR noise issues."

  • "It's in my neighborhood, the vibe is good (feels a bit like a french bistro), the bartender is friendly, BUT the food is hit or miss and the service leaves everything to be desired. We waited 40 minutes for our first course to be delivered, ignored by the waiter (had to ask the host for more drinks and silverware), and were overcharged for the appetizer that was the waiter's mistake. Order the sliders or the short ribs. Avoid mac and cheese (salty and bland at the same time) and sea bass (served over mush). I want to like this restaurant, but every time (whether just two or a large group) we are inevitably disappointed."
