  • "The food is amazing! Great place. Nice small atmosphere. "

  • "Food and service was super! My flat iron steak was perfect!"

  • "We were looking for a good basic neighborhood joint, and this is it. Food we tried was good - not great - but certainly fine for the price and within our expectations. Paella was a little underseasoned, and not true paella - no rice crust on the bottom, not cooked in a paella pan; but it was certainly still tasty. Next time I might stick with something simpler, like a burger. Wine and beer list was strong, and wine pours were also generous. Excellent customer service and very nice ambiance. I am sure we will be back. "

  • "I only stopped by for a drink but I was pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood bar. It's a different feel that say The Park Tavern which gives Cap Hill a rather nice variety of local bars."

  • "First time to visit Satchel's; may be the last.... Food was great, our server was extremely pleasant and efficient. I'm sure you wonder why we might not return? Well, on the other side of the restaurant there was a family, they had some connection to the owner/chef/other employees, don't exactly know, but they were LOUD with children who had the runof the place. Made for a noisy and unpleasant atmosphere. We were in and out in 45 minutes; didn't want to linger over a bottomless mimosa or coffee. Just sucked. Management needs to deal with THEIR noise issues."

  • "One of our favorite "go to" places. Guests from San Francisco really enjoyed the space, service food. Bartender was able to fill request for a drink that has challenged others."

  • "Love the set up and the music they have going. Would definitely go back for drinks."

  • "I love Sachels on 6th. My girlfriend and I use to frequent it when we lived in the neighbourhood. Just a great staff and wonderful food. Love the unique selection of wines and cheeses. Great spot for a date or an anniversary. We went back for our anniversary and super experience as usual. Thanks much"

  • "Took my 11 year old and his best friend. We all had the burgers, but I was the only one who got the beer. Great burger and a great neighborhood vibe. Duck fat fries rule."

  • "Dinner here was fantastic. Great drinks, good ambiance, and amazing food. Will definitely be back."

  • "Satchel's is a great neighborhood place. We enjoyed sharing the small plates (although I wish I'd ordered the lamb sliders-which I've had before and which are terrific) instead of the lobster sliders (just OK). Duck fat fries- yes! The noise level does prevent much conversation."

  • "Drinks, food and service were top notch. A little more salt on a couple of things but that could be personal preference. Wonderful neighborhood restaurant!"

  • "The service was great. Bartender Jason was awesome, food was mouthwatering."

  • "It's in my neighborhood, the vibe is good (feels a bit like a french bistro), the bartender is friendly, BUT the food is hit or miss and the service leaves everything to be desired. We waited 40 minutes for our first course to be delivered, ignored by the waiter (had to ask the host for more drinks and silverware), and were overcharged for the appetizer that was the waiter's mistake. Order the sliders or the short ribs. Avoid mac and cheese (salty and bland at the same time) and sea bass (served over mush). I want to like this restaurant, but every time (whether just two or a large group) we are inevitably disappointed."

  • "Bartender took incredible care of us - we decided to eat there instead of taking our table. We really enjoyed all the dishes - lamb sliders, lamb stew, smoked chicken, and bourbon pork. The wine pairing was delicious too!"

  • "Comfirtable vibe and great food! Enjoyed our dinner and our waiter!"

  • "We came with a group of 6 people and had an AMAZING experience! The waitress was so fun and made the entire night. It was a really cute little restaurant, and it was snowing outside so the scenery was perfect! Our food was amazing as well. Definitely encourage going (and getting the chicken club) for sure!"

  • "My sweetie and I went to Satchels on 6th for a little romantic dinner out and were so pleasantly surprised by this place. Excellent food, great service and a little romantic ambiance made for a delightful evening. Sea Bass was wonderful and the chicken club was so fresh and scrumptious. We polished off a bottle of the french Pinot noir and finished the meal with a rich and moist piece of the chocolate cake drizzled with MORE chocolate. Well done, Satchels on 6th. Well done."

  • "Good food (lamb sliders & Caesar salad), although fries were limp. Waiter's accent was very hard to understand with the background noise. Wines were expensive ($11-16/glass)."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "What is it with restaurants these days? I took my date to Satchel's on Valentine's Day hoping for romance and intimacy and ended up trying to express my love for her in sigh language because the place was as loud as the tarmac at DIA. Do people really like to be in nice restaurants that are too noisy to have a conversation?"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "This is a great little place with an eclectic menu. The only small negative I would give it is that they, like many bars and restaurants these days, forget the first rule of waiting on patrons which is to always look around your entire section to make sure that people are getting what they need, instead of forcing them to yell across the room because they haven't looked your way in 20 minutes."

  • "Menus were nothing like what was on their website... this drives me batty, because I like to preview menus. Everything we had was good, but... the small plates were very small portions. The "large plates" were very very expensive: I mean like $30 for fish, and at LUNCH? We liked the macncheese with duck, but tiny amount of confit. The lobster sliders were tasty if you like the taste of fresh tarragon, but pretty sparse of the lobster and two tiny sliders are like $14. We liked our waitress alot..., pretty old-school and organic ("real"). ANd thankfully, NO TECHNO_HIP_HOP music... hurray! This may be a place to get a burger or a $5.50 draft. The food quality is good, but the value is not so good unless you are using a 1/2 off deal."

  • "This is one my go to spots for a delicious meal with my husband, friends or even my kids. The service is reliably friendly and helpful. The dishes are creative but not too fancy and the prices are reasonable."

  • "There were four of us in our party. It took awhile to get our cocktails, but from then on, service was fine. Sea Bass was outstanding as were the Duck Fries. I thought the Italian Bean Soup was fair, the broth tasted to me like canned beef broth. The Lobster Sliders were fine, but I would not likely order them again. I expected larger pieces of lobster rather than very small diced ones. The four of us found the noise level most troublesome. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. I will return, but perhaps not on a weekend evening."

  • "My friend wanted to go to Satchel's to celebrate her birthday. Big mistake! The place was dead for lunch but the music was blaring in the background. Our server was indifferent and not particularly helpful. I had the grilled caesar salad with a very dry grilled chicken breast. I could hardly eat any of it. My friend had another salad that was small and uninspiring. The food was WAY over priced for the portions, ambience and the service. I will not be back!"

  • "Our meal wasn't as good as in the past. Still like it there, though."

  • "We had so much fun! We had a lot of small plates that were so different. The duck confit macaroni and cheese was out of this world. The wine selection was great. The service was awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Satchel's is just a wonderful place to share a delicious dinner with a friend or a couple...warm and delightful after a long day at work and great to stretch a meal out on the weekend. The staff is friendly ,helpful and almost feel as though they could be related to each other."
    Dined on 1/11/2014
  • "The food was so so, my group ordered the lobster sliders, ducks fate fries (which were very good), mushroom risotto, short ribs, Caesar salad, pork loin, and the sea bass ( which was fantastic). The server seemed to rush us even though there were very fewer people dining in the restaurant. The drinks were very good but the atmosphere was a let down. I like small quaint restaurants but this place lacks character. The seating is not particularly comfortable and could have used better lighting and music. Overall the restaurant was decent but I will not be back."

  • "What happened? This place was, at one time, a great place to go. The tuna was overdone, brussell sprouts inedible; we ordered coffee with cream and sugar...the sugar was unceremoniously tossed on the table and the cream (??) was served in a water glass with two spoons in the cream. This time It was really awful, and we won't go back."
    Dined on 12/18/2013
  • "We shared several small plates and enjoyed them all. Don't miss the duck fat fries! Mushroom risotto, lobster sliders, broccoli, and camembert potatoes were all very enjoyable. Great cocktails (we had cranberry/orange bourbon), wine list and friendly, prompt service. Small neighborhood place, great for dining and conversation. Has off-street parking. I will definitely go back for more."
