Diner Reviews
  • "We appreciated the way the waiter explained the menu and made suggestions. The presentation was terrific and the food was truly enjoyable. We also appreciated the follow-up call from Sassi asking how we enjoyed the evening."

  • "Awesome & beautiful restaurant! I fell in love with SASSI when we were looking for a location for our Wedding which we held at SASSI in May 2013. I LOVE SASSI and the food is incredible!"

  • "Sassi is elegantly done right. The ambiance is up scale, traditional and feels like a vineyard in the wine country. The food was excellent and the service was bar none superb."

  • "We had a wonderful and relaxing time while dining at Sassi. The decor and view are beautiful. Service was great and food was delicious. Had an enjoyable evening and will return."

  • "Summer fixed-price menu is a lovely choice. Service was excellent. Great place for a special summer evening."

  • "Sassi is always wonderful - but as a summer option in Scottsdale it is outstanding. A three course menu considers the heat and is affordable and delicious. There are currently wine specials that were not to be turned down. The sunset view of Pikes Peak is worth sitting on the patio and the misters keep you cool."

  • "Great pasta, delicious salmon and a very extensive Italian wine list. Will come back for sure."

  • "Every time we have eaten at Sassi, we have never been disappointed. We had an early dinner with our two younger children (who are well behaved in restaurants) and we all loved our dinners. The caprese salad with the heirloom tomatoes as well as the beef carpaccio and the prosciutto are all fantastic appetizers. My husband had the filet and said it was one of the best filet steaks he has had in a long time (and we are from Chicago, so pretty picky about a good quality steak). Our waiter was fantastic and provided prompt and great customer service. The chef also made some wonderful small portions of pasta with some cheese for the boys which they totally enjoyed. We highly recommend!"

  • "I wss expecting more it wasnt worth the money. The restaurant was gourgeous. But we had to wait at times to get our order taken and also to recieve our bill. Note our waiter only had one other rable at the time so it wasnt that busy"

  • "SASSI was a long drive for Italian food. I am not sure what I was expecting but I found the seasonings a bit over powering. But then I am not a great lover of Italian food. My wife enjoyed her meal, which is good, since I went there for her."

  • "I have wanted to experience Sassi for a long time and when I finally did get to go it was with special friends I had not seen for a while. We had a lot to talk about and the atmosphere and service was a perfect to enjoy a memorable evening together. It was perfect!"

  • "Once again we had a lovely experience at Sassi. The food was outstanding as usual. Service was a little bumpy at first but smoothed out over the evening. Sassi remains one of my two favorites in the Scottsdale area."

  • "Went with a group of girlfriends who visited me in Scottsdale who are foodies...they loved it...a really lovely spot for excellent dining!"

  • "We had eaten there three times before and loved the menu choices. Our grandchildren asked when they could go back for the gnocchi. This time the menu had changed but the food was still terrific."

  • "We had a romantic evening. My only critique is that the young servers need more expertise in how to professionally take care of customers. Come around to the man when taking the order, not shout across the table, and be more reserved and quiet in their approach. The gentleman (Italian) seemed to be more professional, but I assume he had more training. Other than that the food was great and we had a nice evening. We had come from out of town, since we live in Tucson, and went years ago, and I don't believe the experience was great, but this return visit was fine, so don't worry, we'll be back."

  • "I have eaten at Sassi several times and it never disappoints. The food is consistantly outstanding. One of my favorite restaurants."

  • "The food here is always delicious, the service wonderful and you have a great view of Pinnacle Peak Mountain depending on which room you are seated in."

  • "Sassi's is in no man's land, isolated in the desert next to a cowboy town/BBQ strip mall. But, the facility itself is beautiful and elegant. The food is high end Italian, but quality is spotty. We had octopus, excellent ($15); caprese salad, costly, but very good ($22); lobster ravioli, flavor was great but the pasta was tough ($25); & an excellent veal chop ($38) and seared scallops ($30). Wines are expensive, but the server's recommendation was reasonable and a very good Italian Spelt ($40) - generally no corkage in AZ. All tolled, dinner ran $100/per for food, wine, & tip. It was a vey good special occasion experience."

  • "Whenever we visit Scottsdale we make a point of dining at Sassi. It's practically in the backyard of the Four Seasons resort so the location is great. The food never disappoints, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is very romantic. We always dine indoors but the outside tables would be nice with cooperating weather."

  • "Sassi is more than just great food. To come here is an experience. The breathtaking views of Pinnacle Peak, the old world architecture, the friendly and efficient staff, you couldn't ask for more. We brought 4 of our friends here to celebrate a special occasion. They had never been to Sassi before, and were just blown away by everything. We dined on the beautiful outdoor patio and watched the sun go down. The food was exceptional as usual, and there was even a wedding reception going on at the same time. I couldn't even imagine a more special place to get married. If you want a dining experience that you will never forget, this is the place!"

  • "Well, I continue to like Sassi - a lot - but food was "off" the last evening we were there. My pasta was dry and leathery and both pasta dishes were swimming in butter. Not a good food evening. Also, I like the warmed olives as an "immediate" starter but let me know there is an up charge for it. I don't mind paying for something that's good and I like but let me know - before I see it on the check - since it's not listed on the menu. Nice touch and a quick and easy way to make a buck or two but let the customer know. Also, no specials on a Thursday evening. Regular chef must have had the evening off - hence the off food night and no specials."

  • "This was our first time at Sassi and we will be back. Our waiter, Anthony, is a true professional - very welcoming and made fantastic recommendations. The atmosphere was just beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed the most beautiful views - a perfect evening. "

  • "This is umpteenth time we've been to Sassi. You have never disappointed us. The food, service and ambience is outstanding! We usually come with friends and they also, have come away with the same critique."
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "We dined on the patio and between a shaded table and the misting spray, the patio was delightful. The view and ambience on the mountains, coupled with great service and food are why we frequent Sassi every spring and Fall."
    Dined on 5/29/2014
  • "Fantastic food in a wonderful setting! The grilled octopus appetizer is my favorite item on the menu, but the cavatelli with pork ragu was a close second - the pasta was cooked to perfection and the spicy ragu was just right for it. "

  • "We brought out of town guests and dined on the patio. Everything was wonderful -- the food, atmosphere, service. It was a lovely evening. Thanks!"

  • "Absolutely one of the most beautiful restaurants my husband and I have ever seen. The food was wonderful and the wine list was exceptional. A bit pricey but a must for special occasions. The restaurant even called us the next day to see if everything was to our liking. Very classy!!"

  • "The first time at Sassi, we had 3 courses plus bread and a bottle of wine and they had us out of there in 55 minutes. But, the food was so good we decided it was worth a second visit. This time we managed the wait staff a little better and just didn't order until we were ready. It was worth the effort. The food is exceptional. "

  • "Could be great, but to loud and waiter yelled across table to get orders, truly unprofessional. Food was really good, and staff tried really hard"

  • "It has been many years since we have had a meal that was OUTSTANDING. Every bite was mouthwatering.... A gem with a heavenly view and food that was the very best. The next day all I could do was tell everyone at work that they need to go and experience everything for themselves..Thank you for the wonderful experience..keep up the great work"

  • "Overall it was a very nice evening. We had the private room just off from the main dining room. The food was great, the scenery beautiful. The only downfall in the evening is when I inquired about organic and/or bio-dynamic wine, the general manager proceeded to be condescending towards my wishes since most the wines they serve are from Italy and not certified as organic. He was extremely knowledgeable about wine, I understand that, but he did not have to go so far as to say a particular wine I drank, and certified as bio-dynamic, he thought was terrible. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but that whole conversation made a lot of us at the table uncomfortable. Too bad some poor choice of words is what will stay with me."

  • "Unfortunately Mother's Day was windy and the restaurant failed to make plans for those of us on the patio until a near tragedy occurred as two umbrellas crashed onto our table. Glass shattered everywhere, into our food and on our clothes. We expected the manager to check on our situation... Nothing! We expected to have the manager apologize for the inconvenience! Nothing! Sassi's, your reputation is tarnished."

  • "This was our second dinner at Sassi and of course we'll be back. Service was outstanding when we arrived, but slowed a bit when they got very busy (Saturday evening). But not bad. This has to be one of the top most attractive restaurants in Arizona. "

  • "I am able to visit Arizona every 5 years and put T' Cooks on my "Must Do" list on every visit. I always recommend it to my friends who also get the opportunity to visit. The atmosphere is like no other in the country and top it off with excellent food and service. The locals of Arizona are so fortunate to have such a beautiful place at their disposal to enjoy so frequently!!!! "

  • "We were there on Mother's Day - very windy. Seated inside, next to a window, but saw people on patio with wind blowing umbrellas around. Hostess continued to seat people at these tables. Saw one woman hit in the face by umbrella and food blowing around. Situation was handled very poorly. Patio should have been closed down immediately."
