SasaExcellent sushi and otherExcellent sushi and other Japanese oriented foods. Very fresh, creative and nicely presented. Full menu also offers great alternatives. Quality remains very high, prices are also starting to match.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the 2nd time I'veThis is the 2nd time I've been there. The first time was in the evening and we were seated in the middle section in the front right in front of the bar It was crowded and very noisy, but the food was great. The second time we were there for lunch and seated in the back room which was not crowded and much quieter so you could hear each other talk. The food was good both times. I would recommend it for the food but request the back room if you don't want to shout at your dinner companions while you eat it.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSasa is a modern, upscaleSasa is a modern, upscale restaurant with innovative takes on sushi and Japanese food. The traditional sashimi and sushi roll offerings are excellent, but so are the various appetizers and small plates such as ginger chicken meatballs and crispy artichoke karaage. Service was efficient and knowledgeable, and the vibe is trendy but not haughty. The bill can be pricey, but the food and dining experience is worth the added cost.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and Creative JapaneseDelicious and creative Japanese food and sushi in an attractive setting. Consistently good and a special treat for a special occasion or date night.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite restaurant in WCFavorite restaurant in WC - take guests there often and they ask to return! Love the small plates at lunch and they are an incredible value to boot!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSasa is Amazing SpotSasa rates. Highly. It is not often that I take my Japanese friend to a place that I know will impress her :) The food is unique and creative, which retaining a high level authenticity. We adored our baby beet salad and Japanese Squash dumplings (to start) and our suschi rolls were divine.
Will be back asap....4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sushi!Incredible sushi. Extremely fresh. I will be back for certain.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWaitstaff was outstanding,Waitstaff was outstanding, and extremely knowledgeable.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat,but...One of my favorite places. Love the decor. Service is very good. Unfortunately, the chairs in the main dining area are not designed to fit with the table height. We had to move our seats because it was so uncomfortable. Such a shame that a restaurant that is so well designed overlooked patrons comfort. It's an easy fix, and I hope they will consider it.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service at the GrangeThe service at the Grange was just impeccable. The wait staff knew when and when not to approach the table, they were helpful with the menu selection, and they ensured we understood what we were ordering so we would not be surprised when it arrived at our table. The food is very "Farm to Table" oriented and was presented very attractively. Along with that, all three diners thought the food was excellent. The atmosphere was a bit loud and took time to get used to. I would definitely return.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sushi are expensive butThe sushi are expensive but taste very good. Good place for celebration.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining experience!Hubby took me to Sasa for a belated birthday dinner. I had always wanted to try it as I had heard good things about the restaurant. It was truly a wonderful dining experience! The staff was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. The ambiance fantastic and the food exceptional!! The ahi parfait is a must, I highly recommend it! The squash dumplings were also delectable! The sushi was phenomenal with the fresh wasabi! I would highly recommend this restaurant for special event dining!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat first visit to SasaGreat first visit to Sasa - so impressed with their creative menu, food quality AND value and the ambiance, contemporary interior and lovely outdoor patio. Just wish I lived closer.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointing! You must try the braised beef and the Sasa Roll they are excellent!!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, pricey for regular visitsGood service. Food is amazing. Some of the rolls are really good(sushi has gotten better since it opened). Appetizers great. Mostly all small plates. I'm not a big meat eater but had several dishes with beef and it was incredible. You will pay the price for how good it tastes, but for a once in a while visit it is worth the dollars. We didn't like one roll(it was just bland), wish they would have "comped" something else given we spent over $160 for two people(we kindly expressed our dislike to our server early into the tasting and she just as politely agreed with us but didn't do anything or offer anything). That was the only disappointment. A little noisy but to be expected for a Saturday night and close table placement.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a group of four. WeWe were a group of four. We tried several plates. Two were suggested by the server. One of the plates suggested by the server was not very good. We mentioned that to the manager as he came around to check on tables. He took it off the bill & comped us two desserts. We were very happy with the service & food overall.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, as always.Excellent food, as always. The specials are worth checking out; I am never disappointed and sometimes wowed. Service was a little slower than usual this time. They were very busy and apologized for our repeated delays on drinks. Yet they redeemed themselves by being more than accomodating when we stayed well past closing time, never rushing us to leave. We'll will continue to frequent Sasa.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStands Out even in Walnut CreekBesides excellent sushi, creative (and excellent) bar drinks, the two meat dishes we had were way above the norm. There is a sense that there a REAL CHEF running the show. Haven't brought our kids but the family behind us did and it seemed very kid friendly. There were business people on the other side. I will be returning here regularly, even in Walnut Creek which has a lot of good restaurants, this one stands out.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSushi was fabulous at Sasa.Sushi was fabulous at Sasa. Desert menu is not quite as creative. We had the Omakase platter, a chef's variety of sushi, sashimi and roll...it was outstanding. Expensive for your normal sushi, but well worth it. Top quality.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
