  • "If you're looking for ambiance and a great view, this is the place! Wonderful, personal service, and excellent food. A great place for a romantic evening. We will definitely be back."

  • "Great view. Nice bar. Food very good. Friendly service staff. Attractive interior. Piano player adds to ambiance. So enjoyable we came back the next evening."

  • "This used to be one of our favorite special occasion restaurants. We had not been in a while and were excited to go back. Sorry to say we were sadly disappointed with the quality of the food. A change in chef? The pasta I ordered was dry, way too much tomato paste (made the dish very sweet) and could have been put together by someone with no cooking experience. My husbands mashed potatoes were so watery he could have used a straw. The waiter took the criticism well and did comp us a dessert, however it will be a long time, if ever, before we go back. Too many other choices. Very disappointing."

  • "The view was spectacular, the food was excellent, and the service first rate. The piano player was so incredibly loud it was hard to carry on a conversation and completely destroyed the romantic mood."

  • "Loved the ambience here-every table has a spectacular view of the city, mountains and the ocean. Lots of 2-4 person horseshoe shaped booths that face the window. Service was well timed, friendly but not intrusive. Highly recommend the oyster appetizers and both salads were excellent. My husband and I are split on the entrees however. He had the stuffed pork chop which was on the cold side and dry. I had the opha which was hot and very flavorful. Dessert choices were varied and servings were ample without being over the top. We would definitely come again to try more dishes!"

  • "We came for an early dinner, hoping to watch the sunset from the restaurant's vantage point on top of a tall hotel. The restaurant was virtually empty, but the hostess proceeded to take us to the opposite side from where we wanted to be... After that the waiters were very attentive, but the negative impression had already been created. Of the dishes we ordered one was decidedly sub-par - the Chef's version of paella. The other dishes were fine, but unremarkable. Overall, we are not planning to come back"

  • "We have been to Sarento's on a few occasions and we have always gone away with such a satisfying feeling! From the greeting at the reception desk to the wait help, awesome service! I would recommend Sarento's for all occasions! We will be back! Charla"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at Sarentos. It was exactly what we wanted for our anniversary. View was beautiful and food was great. They were very accomodating to my gluten free senisitivity. Service was great. Jason the manager was very attentive to our table and showed great confidence. We were very happy with our experience. This was our third time there and would definitely go again."

  • "I decided to try Sarento's for a romantic anniversary dinner and they exceeded all my expectations. The service was top notch with several servers helping us. Right when we arrived I was greeted and got my table right away. The food was amazing and me and my girlfriend were so full from it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to wine and dine their significant other while overlooking the beautiful city line. Definitely gotta come back"

  • "My wife and I felt specially treated the moment we checked in. We got one of the best tables (middle half-moon booth facing Diamond Head) to view the Friday evening fireworks. Our waiters, Jordan and Alan, knew the menus well and made some excellent drink, appetizer, and dinner suggestions. The food was excellent. The view and ambiance was extraordinary. The staff were polite, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable, without being too overbearing. It certainly created an atmosphere for a truly, very memorable evening."

  • "My husband and I booked this restaurant for our wedding anniversary, and from the moment we got there, they exceeded our expectations. The waiters (we had 2 working cooperatively together!) referred to us by name, we were given an amazing table right next to the window overlooking the water and the sunset, and the waiter took multiple photos for us. The wine list was impressive, and the food was absolutely incredible. We would have licked the plates if it was socially acceptable. We ordered dessert and the waiters brought us an extra special treat because of our anniversary. Could not have asked for a better anniversary dinner. We will absolutely be back to check out their happy hour and to try out more of their dishes."

  • "Antipasto (a word Italian restaurants should use): Pacific Oysters and Escargot. I did not have the oysters, but let me be clear on this: I read on the menu Escargot, and decided to not read the description. The word 'gratin' would have stopped me. No shells; but (six I think?) snails smothered in pizza cheese. Main course: Fillet Mignon and Veal Cotolette Capricciosa. I will not rate the Fillet Mignon since my guest asked for well done, but the veal? Slightly burnt, dry, covered up by some arugula and mozzarella... I ate half and then had the waiter to take it away. Sarento's, I think, survives on people who don't know or expect good food. If you're looking for good Italian food, you would be better of visiting Buca di Beppo."

  • "Sarento's wasn't part of the original plan for my wife's birthday -- we planned to eat somewhere else. However, that "somewhere else" didn't work out -- and 10 minutes later we were on the top floor of the Ilikai. Everething about Sarento's just seemed right: the attentive -- yet unobtrusive -- service, the great food, the mellow atmosphere with a live piano player, and -- of course -- the stunning view! The last-minute change of plans paid off big. And kudos to my wife's college professor, who originally recommended this place!"

  • "I really enjoyed this restaurant. The bar area had a piano player which is always a fun touch. It was still a more quiet restaurant. The servers worked together and our needs were always met never waiting. The food was really good. I had the spaghetti and filet meatballs which was very yummy. My husband had the osso bucco which he enjoyed. He has had better but still enjoyed it. I think there are better restaurants in the area but would still recommend this one...especially the bar area at sunset- which has a very beautiful view!"

  • "We have eaten at Sarentos on the Beach many times and it has always been great. We decided to try this one while we were here on Oahu. The first impression is amazing since you get to the restaurant by a glass elevator. Beautiful view all the way up! It is even more beautiful in the restaurant. Anywhere you sit there is an awesome view. The service is great and the people working there are very nice. For the most part the food is really good. My ahi tuna was fantastic. Wife's salad was wonderful, but her fish was over cooked and that is the reason for the 3 stars. We could have sent it back, but we hate to waste food so she decided to eat it. Should have been cooked correctly and it is our fault for not sending it back. We will go back."

  • "Fantastic view from our table. We were able to see the Luau on top of the convention center from our table as well as some fireworks. The food was excellent with a very attentive staff. Would definitely go back next time I am in town."

  • "After celebrating our honeymoon in Hawaii last year we chose Hawaii again to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and specifically Sarento's for dinner. Wow wow wow!! Amazing view, amazing food and the best service we have had in a long time! The waiter was very knowledgable and was able to make some good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this to others - particularly those wanting something a little bit special. Thank you for being part of our celebration!"

  • "We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation and very much enjoyed the food and service. However, it was definitely rushed. The staff was in a hurry to get out of there. We even overheard them discussing this. Don't accept 8:30pm reservations unless you're prepared to provide the same dining experience as you would at 7pm."

  • "The wine list was wonderful and while we had an idea or two in mind, we asked our attendant for something new and he really delivered. That same level of service extended to the meal. I had my heart set on a nice bolognese, which was not on that evenings menu. However, he got the chefs to make one up and it was fabulous. Finally, the view was the evenings dessert for us."

  • "This place was absolutely beautiful. The food was perfect and the drinks were amazing. I will definitely be going back. The shank was prepared perfectly, and the cocktail fork plunged in the marrow for afterwards was a nice bonus. Love that marrow. I'll be back for Happy hour with Avel!!!!"

  • "To be honest we never go to Italian restaurants because they are all tacky and the food is always just ok - nothing special that we could not make at home. That said, we were in a bind and this place was close, available and sounded good. At first, we did have issues finding the right elevator but found our Way. We were seated at the window and were immediately bombarded with wine list and drink menu. We found service to be slow from the bar, got our bread basket late and the check took fore ever. We also did not really know who was in charge as we dealt with 3 people. The food was ok. Not the best not the worst but ok. All over all it was a fun tacky evening in Honolulu :)"

  • "Service was excellent but be sure to ask for a table as far away from the happy hour crowd as possible as your fine dining will be noisy. I had the eggplant cannelloni and it was not good. Pasta was brittle on the ends and the filling was tasteless and not enough sauce over it . They had put a salad on the top of it and it was so salty it was inedible. The bread is delicious but not crazy about the curry dipping sauce. I have had the osso buco in the past here and it was delicious but give the cannelloni a miss. In fact it should come off the menu til it has some flavor. Definitely a miss on that item"

  • "Great atmosphere, good spot to check out the Friday night fireworks, lots of tourists, good food and reasonably priced for Waikiki."

  • "Overall, very enjoyable, - Great View, very quiet, romantic, and private. Food was a plus overall. Service started off on a good note. Problem was our waiter forgot my wine order with the entree. The 2nd person also forgot. By the time I got it I was done with my entree, - about 30 minutes from the time I first ordered it. I am very service conscious so that was a black eye for the Sarentos service staff in my mind. The wine was "comp", but the cost of the wine matters little to me. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the evening, and as lifetime residents of Honolulu, we are very likely to dine out many more times. I would hope the next time we go there the service will be more attentive."

  • "This restaurant was highly recommended to us, however our expectations fell short. The hot food was served luke warm and the service was spotty. While the views were amazing, this restaurant could have used a face lift. It looked to me something that was "hip and happening" back in the 80's... and hasn't been remodeled since."

  • "We had dinner on Valentine's Day. Picked this restaurant for location and bec they did not say they were serving prefixe menu for the holiday as I find those mostly poor value. Very happy with food and price included two drinks and gratuity. View could have been better - city side not water - but we'll go back. That we're okay with us (And many others) leaving our seats to go watch the Friday night fireworks on the water side. Next time we'll book for table on that side."

  • "It was a great night. We valet parked (only $5 when dining) then walked through the lobby to get to the back elevater. The elevator has glass walls so you can see the ocean and boats on your way up. Then we were seated in a cozy half-moon booth so we could sit side-by-side. We had just finished our appetizer of Boccocini when the Friday night fireworks started. After the fireworks, the ambience was perfect and we talked and sipped our wine until the main meals arrived. The osso buco was perfect, and the marrow was incredible. Following the meal, we shared a Chocolate Volcano (yum, dark Belgian chocolate). She had a Bailey's coffee and I had a Macallan 18 yr scotch. The wait-staff was attentive and engaging! An awesome night!!"

They have great service, ambience, and a beautiful view practically anywhere that you sit. Food was awesome and accommodating of my vegetarian friends. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal or a romantic date."
