We went for mother's day and the four course special was an amazing deal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWedding Anniversary at Sarento'sMy wife and I wanted to celebrate our 44th anniversary somewhere we had not been to in Honolulu. Sarento's has a spectacular view of Honolulu looking both north and south. We ordered their Rack of Lamb and the Op ah fish dinner and they were both very good - the lamb was one of the best Rack of lambs we have ever had. The big surprise was the wine list. We brought our own wine and I was totally amazed they had the same wine on their wine list! Adding the corkage fee it came out to about the same price.

We thoroughly enjoyed the meal (shrimp scampi and seafood diavolo). Food, service and the views were outstanding. The wait staff works as a team and were perfectly attentive Without being intrusive. Our second round of Mai-tai's were marginal - probably a bartender change - first round was good (hence the order of a second round). I went for my anniversary and thought it was a perfect romantic dinner. The food was excellent, wine was great, and of course it wouldn't of been complete without the desert. The servers made great recommendations and were very attentive to our table. What really surprised me were the prices, they arent the typical waikiki prices! i definitely didnt mind paying what i did for this scrumptious dinner! At no time did they say an automatic gratuity of 18'% would be added. The check was given to us as one check, when it was clearly three couples who were there. They offered us a pen and calculator to divide the bill up, then went back and re did the three bills, then pointed out that an 18% gratuity was added. Pretty cheesy if you ask me.... They likely would have received a great tip of 18-20% anyway, had they provided accurate cheques to each couple in the first place, as the meal and service was good but at the end of a lovely evening to sort through a bill was not romantic.... We shared the Caprese salad which was different than salads I have had at ither Italian restaurants. The added gnocchi was great. I had the Chicken rigatoni and my date had the Beef filet Mignon. The Beef Filet came with a cup container with the most exquisite mac and cheese you have ever had. Both dinners were excellent.
Could not have been a better dinner. The sunset was beautiful. The help will trained. The staff and ambience of Sarento's is spectacular ! We cannot say enough about how helpful, accomodating and friendly the staff were. My daughter has very severe food allergies and they went the extra mile to ensure she could have an incredible and safe dining experience. We cannot thank you enough ! The view from the restaurant itself was also wonderful. It has a very nice romantic setting. The service was very good. The staff that helped us for the evening were very welcoming, polite and made very good suggestions on food and cocktails. The taste of the food was fantastic; lots of flavor. The price of the food was a little pricey in comparison to portion size (for the appetizers, but the main entrees were ok). It had a nice atmosphere; very inviting. Great menu, very good food, prepared just right, plenty to fill you up. Service was excellent, waiter explained menu well, there when needed without hovering. A wine list to complement menu with price points for all. The view all around makes this restaurant a stand-out.
