"We heard from a local tat the food and view here was great. He was right. Our waiters were exceptionally knowledgeable on the menu. We started with the lemon escargot and ossobucco pot stickers. Unusual but excellent flavors. For our main dishes we followed the waiter's recommendations and had the ossobucco and catch of the day. The ossobucco was fall-off-the-bone tender and the accompanying risotto was excellent. The fish was nicely seared and spiced and complimented with an stir fry that included broccolini."

"This was my first time at Sarento's and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I read some reviews on other sites that didn't give it the most favorable impression, but the staff was excellent and attentive, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was great. My pasta dish was very good, but not excellent, but my wife's double pork chop was very savory and tasty. I would definitely order that next time."

"I took my girlfriend out to sarento's for a romantic evening. It was my first time dining there so I didnt know what to expect but when I got there I was completely impressed. The view was amazing and the service was outstanding. I would recommend sarento's for a romantic night out. The food was great (a little pricy) and the private, glass elevator that must be taken to reach the restaurant provides a beautiful view and a romantic start of the evening. The only thing I found wrong with the place was the music was inconsistent. They played reggae and then oldies and the pop music. It wasn't a mood killer but it was definitely notable. Sarento's is a great restaurant, I recommend it to everyone who is willing to spend the money."

"Normally places with good views have only so-so food. Not this time. We booked at the last minute, relying on another site for the ratings. This was great. Good food for us & for our kids, prompt service, although clearly ready to go as slow as you would like. And I was impressed by decent prices for wine (at least for my tax-heavy experience). All in all, I liked it & would recommend it."

"First -using the Open Table Reservation online was easy and very convienient. Parking was easy to find and affordable.
The reception at the door was outstanding -professional, yet very friendly.
The food was deleicious and all of the servers and staff are 5STAR+, friendly and courteous. The wine was excellent with dinner and We had a great time. The cost of the dinner was about $106.00 plus tip, for two and we had everything from appetizer to dessert."

"The food and service were superb. Loved the little nuances to each presentation along with the island influence on classic Italian dishes. But the hotel it is in is old and has a heavy musty smell to it that overshadowed the experience. Going up in the glass elevator we looked out on the balconies and windows of the hotel which was much like a tenement building."

"The wines, appetizers and entrées menus were definitely overpriced but probably necessary to cover the excellent service and potentially outstanding atmosphere. The desserts were in line with the rest of Waikiki. The quality of the food and its preparation were excellent, but we have had the equal or better, esp. pastas, for half the price in many cities in the U.S. and Europe. Unfortunately, the accoustics in the area of our table detracted from the experience of the view and the food, to wit, overhearing conversations several tables away and having a family with three screechy young children placed immediately next to us. Our fault perhaps for not knowing in advance the restaurant's layout and, therefore, what to request for seating."

"The restaurant strikes me as one that was clearly built several decades ago, but has been kept in good order. Other reviews of the picturesque ride up in the 'Top of the I's' private elevator were well spot on, and it was a nice experience.

We ordered the Ahi Bruscetta (which was fantastic) as a starter and a bottle of Franciscan Estate Cabernet, I don't remember the vintage. The wine list was generally strong, and we tried the Franciscan for the first time because it hit the right price point. It was a little punchy but went very well with food.

I ordered a seafood pasta dish which had a red sauce/seafood broth combination that I didn't care for, but seemed well prepared. All around it was a nice place, beautiful view and good ambian"
