The food is wonderful and the Chet's presentations are unique. We would definitely recommend Sarento's for it's outstanding service and food. The beach location is a big plus and affords a beautiful view. We had requested a table overlooking the beach and this definitely added to our enjoyable evening. Everyone enjoyed their dish from buttery fish to spicy shrimp. Service e was attentive and pricing was in line. It was our anniversary and the service was great. The food was back to what we always loved. Carpaccio was the best. Had the fresh catch with capponata, it was fantastic. Really a lovely setting and back to being great. At times we had as many as three waiters attending to our needs, which sounds confusing but it really was not. Instead, our every whim seemed to be instantly attended, which was really kind of neat. Anyway, the food was very good, and a killer view of the bay and distant islands completed the experience. The service is very good although having five or six "waiters" for different aspects of the meal is confusing. None of them were outstanding. The food is of a high quality but the preparations are lacking. The sauces tend to overwhem. Unique preparation - lobster fra diavalo was made with gnocchi and surprisingly was not too overfilling. Our food took a while to prepare but other than that service was impeccable. We had multiple servers and the manager came out to see how we were doing. Views overlooking the ocean were beautiful - romantic. Flare in serving everything from baslamic& vinegar to dessert. The waiters were concerned the entres were taking some time but my husband & I were in delightful conversation soaking up the atmosphere of Sarentos. Matrod was eager to take our pictures w/ the sunset in the background. Being our first night in Maui as well our first time to Hawaii. They made our 25th Anniversary Celebration Special,romantic and memorable. Nice start to our vacation!!!!! Food was fantastic. We had the Gazpacho - one of the best I've ever had - the Penne Bolognaise, with hints of Cinnamon, and the Spaghetti & Meatballs. Simply awesome. And the Tiramisu dessert was hands down the best - and that's the only dessert I order when dining Italian. Chef knocked it out of the park.
Our table was 20 feet from the beach. Fantastic views. Would like to go again for sunset dinner. The service was tremendous with wait staff on constant attention to our needs while not hovering. The bread was different and delicious (try the bread with the caramelized onions if you like that kind of thing - it was excellent and different).
