Excellent food - service was a little bit less than what we have had in the past. Our waitress did not seem as attentive as they have in the past also. I would have had a second glass of wine - but she never came around to ask or how the meal was. She seemed more interested in the other tables than ours - so was disappointed. It was my husband and I anniversary - and we usually eat there every September and maybe once through the year. Will definitely go back.

It was, it is and it will be our favorite restaurant in the Dells. Love the Chicken Marsala and love their great attitude towards customers. It was our 6 and a half anniversary and we stopped by just to have a good time. And we did, exceptional service and great atmosphere. Will be back in March again :) Thanks Sarento's.

  • Sarento's Not a good fit for us
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 8/3/2012
Sarento's is one of the nicer restaurants in the Dells, a bit pricey though for the amount of food that one gets but that is the Dells. It was hot, fresh and tasty. The service is almost overattentive especially with the water we literally would take a sip or two of water and it was refilled. We don't like a busy table, we like a well timed meal with one or two people doing the service or waiting, not four or five. The music was a bit too loud for the 4 of us. Overall it was good, but obviously not a direct fit for our liking.

The breadsticks were the best part of the meal. My brother thought he should of got more than seven Mot sticks for $7.95 and he's right. I had the three cheese ravoili and felt that it was a little soupy. Too many servers watching us during dinner. Staff was very friendly.

Chicken Parmisan was nothing special. Blackened Mahi Mahi was excellent and the asparagus was perfectly prepared al dente. Desserts were excellent. Table by the exit door is a bit cold and remote and barren of any ambiance, especially in the winter. Service was top-notch. We would definitely go back again but choose a different table the next time.

  • This was not a good meal.
    MackiVIP
    Dined on 9/16/2010
This was not a good meal. The alfredo sauce tasted like it was from a jar, the risotto was totally gummy, the caprese salad was overdressed in balsamic reduction making it practically inedible, plus, it only had 4 tiny slices of roma tomato on it. Oh, but the breadsticks were good. In addition, I guess the place was a lot busier than they had anticipated, so the wait staff was bustling and no one was cleaning tables. When we were first seated, a table next to ours was dirty, and there must have been a small child seated there, as evidenced by the high chair and the terrible mess in the surrounding area. By the time we had finished our meal and got up to leave, it had not been cleaned up. We will definitely not return to Sarentos. EVER

After debating which of the Wilderness Lodge restaurants to try, we decided on Sarento's. I'm glad we did. The service was as good, and with some instruction, they prepared my steak nicely charred on the outside and rare on the inside (it was a fun lesson on Pittsburg style or Black & Blue style which they never heard of), so I was happy. My sister had the Pizza Margarita and liked it. Mom liked her medium-prepared steak, too. So, overall it was good. As long as they were happy, I was happy. The only thing is that on Open Table I noted that it was my sister's birthday, but no one came by to wish her a happy birthday or bring a treat with a candle...that was too bad, but, well...

Overrated. I found it to be equivalent to an Olive Garden in food and ambience. I actually like Olive Garden so that is not all bad, but I had a much higher expectation. The tables are sardined into the dining area. For these prices I would prefer not to be able to hear my neighbors dinner conversation.

Very disappointing considering all the hype that is built up around the wilderness territory. I was led to believe that this would be somewhat of a mid class Italian restaurant. I should have known it wasn't going to be good when I walked up a small flight of stairs and discovered they were illuminated by rope lighting that was electrical taped to the railing, very tacky. then when I asked about the mozzarella sticks I was informed they were of the frozen variety, this just screamed Italian. When I received my food(chicken alfredo)I was even more disappointed the alfredo sauce tasted like it came from a jar. The chicken tasted like Oscar Meyer pre-cooked strips. If only they could match their food with the potential beautiful interior.

It was my first time at Sarento's and will most likely be my last. The staff was not friendly at all. The hostess acted like she was doing you a favor by seating you and the servers weren't at all helpful. We ordered the Feta Bruchetta for an app. The tomatoes were not ripe and it was loaded with salt, which was all you could taste. Entrees were the Seafood Cannelloni and the Grilled Shrimp with Risotto. The Cannelloni was decent, but the presentation boring and the sauce were bland. The Cannelloni was stuffed with real crab meat, but not worth the $23 I paid. The grilled shrimp was pretty good, but the risotto was a giant pile of mush and lacked any flavor. Overall, the meal with 2 glasses of wine was over $100 and tasted like it should’ve

The food was great as always and the seating was excellent for our group. The problem I encountered this time was that I put in a specific request with my reservation and they did not even look at it. I had to ask for the same thing I put on my reservation when we arrived. The group of young ladies at the front seem to be trying their best but I think they would benifit from a full time person that knows how to run the floor.

THe food was good as always, but the table that they seated us at in the back room of the bar was extremely drafty and very cold. We told the waitress about it and she said there was nothing she could do about it. My wife was sitting with her jacket on and my jacket across her legs. A waiter came by and said something, so we told him about it and he apologized and turned up the heat. The waitress had to be flagged down to refill drinks and seemed overwhelmed. This was so different then the last time we had visited this place and will try it one more time to ensure this was not the norm for this place. Nice place to eat but that back room needs to be fixed.

Had dinner here with 4 girlfriends. The service was very good, the food was not. Fettucine Alfredo was so salty that it could not be eaten. The eggplant was as hard as a rock and the soup was not as good as Campbell's. I do have to recommend their Lemondrop Shooters. They were great and helped make our expierence bearable.

My experience at Sarento's was very pleasing. The food was delicious, I was privileged enough to order their seafood canelloni which was amazing. The set-up of the resturant was very nice plus the friendly service. If I could say anything about it that I didnt care for it would be that the evening I was there they had live music going on at the bar but they also had classical music going on the overhead speakers. Let's just say the two styles of music clashed and it was difficult to listen to either. Otherwise a very enjoyable visit.
