A word from Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante
One of the most authentic and exciting restaurants to open in Miami Beach in ages, this ultra-friendly restaurant has made fast friends of the neighborhood around Sunset Harbor. The young, mostly Italian staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Highlights on the lengthy menu of rustic dishes include spaghetti bottarga, orecchiette with wild boar sausage and nearly melted broccoli di rabe pesto. Salt-crusted branzino, prepared in the wood-burning ovendeboned table-side, is a masterpiece. The fantastic, value-priced wine list is always a winner. Best to go with a crowd and share a platter of thinly sliced meats and cheeses with vegetables roasted in the wood-burning oven. Order a plate of crackly rosemary carasatu bread, too. Deserts, like the millefoglie with nutella and pastry cream, are as addictive as this new hot spot. Source: New Times: Best of Miami 2007Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I went with my wife and a couple for Miami Spice. I was impressed with the place. Service was great. However, the choices for the Miami Spice menu were disappointing. Nothing in particular I would go back for. My wife, which is vegetarian, ordered form the regular menu, did not find the options to be tasteful."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed an excellent dinner here. The menu is fantastic and just the antipasti is more than enough to fill you up. I would love to go back and have the pizza- only served after 10 pm and made in the wood fired oven."

  • "Restaurant honored our reservation on time. We were served by a very nice waiter named Milan who was very knowledgeable about dish preparations. We tried the octopus, veal meat balls and tuna tartare as appetizers and were very pleased. The lamb shanks and the veal chop entrees came out hot, tasty and with a delicious side of herbed mushroom risotto. I tried both and liked the lamb much better, but can't go wrong with neither. We ordered the specialty dessert of the house Sebasta (or something similar, the first one listed on the menu) and were pleasantly surprised. It's like a pastry filled with cheese, lemon zest and honey. Different and very good. Definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "Sardinia is always great for lunch, has a very good happy hour and also known for its pastas and wood-roasted foods, but we went for the fixed price Regional Italian dinner last night. What a great deal....$60 includes multiple courses (we had six or seven) and wine pairings (7 half glasses). They are doing these dinners every other Thursday through the summer and focusing on one region's wines and foods each time. Ours was Campania, but we will go back whenever we are in town for any one they offer. Our server, Milan, was excellent and added to our enjoyment this visit."

  • "Dining at Sardinia never disappoints. Even after six or seven visits, the food always seems innovative and the service is flawless. One should take the time to explore and enjoy this unique menu. From the appetizers to main courses, one will find dishes that are seldom experienced in broad-based Italian restaurants. And if you're going to enjoy a bottle of wine, don't overlook the vintages from the Sardinia region!"

  • "...of Sardinia, that is. The food here is probably not all typically Sardinian, but it is very much like eating in Italy. My paccheri with tiny baby octopus and the corvina in cartoccio (in parchment paper) were superb. Our waiter Donato was professional, friendly, and completely knowledgeable about the menu.(As all waiters in Italy are!) He guided us to every selection, including the wine and dessert, to our complete satisfaction. Next time in Miami will mean another dinner at Sardinia"

  • "Have been here many times. Great collection of Italian wines, all price points. Especially enjoy opportunity to taste good wine by the glass -- they have a dispenser for the more expensive bottles that preserves the wine. Rare to be able to sample Barolos and Brunellos like that. Food is superb. Especially anything from the wood burning oven. Also a good choice for a simple snack -- good cheese selection and cured meats. Only negative is that it tends to have a high noise level - busy place, wood floors, tables closely packed -- not too crowded, but loud. "

  • "I have dinner at Sardinia for more than six times during the last year but in the last two ones the food was nos so good when compared with the previous ones. Also the service was declining every time. Waiters appear and dissapear suddenly and you need to claim every single minor things that you need ( i.e. spoons, salt, pepper, etc) they need to put more attention to improve their kind of service. "

  • "Authentic Sardinian / italian cuisine. Probably the best souithern Italian outside of Italy! Outstanding service and friendly staff."

  • "Both the food and service are way above average here. First there are the appetizers - the octopus is wonderful - tender and flavorful. Carciofini (artichoke) is also very good. The Gamberoni consists of four colossal shrimp with the heads on. The presentation is gorgeous, and the flavor is consistent with the appearance. They even have a happy hour with plenty of appetizers and some good wines to choose from. Thumbs way up."

  • "I've been to this restaurant several times and my prior experiences were much better. My companion's meal was over cooked and dried out and the service was subpar. The bus boys kept insisting on clearing plates that clearly were not finished and the waiter was nowhere to be found. "

  • "Looking for a mother's day lunch at a place not overwhelmed with the typical buffet etc. truly excellent food (it was a regular menu), inventive and interesting menu, very friendly service. terrific pizza (only at lunch or after 10pm ). Server was very good without being intrusive. "

  • "We were looking for an upscale restaurant and expected the quality and taste of the food to be in line with the higher prices, but were very disappointed in the food. Everything was excessively salty, and lacked any special taste, or flavor. We all felt the food quality was very average, at best. The bread was cold, did not taste fresh, and the assortment was uninspiring. The seafood lacked that fresh taste and texture, either overshadowed by too much salt, or perhaps not fresh and masked by the salt. The pasta was just ok, but unremarkable. Same held true for the appetizers. Overall, a forgettable experience, except for that salty aftertaste that stayed with all of us of a few hours after the meal. "

  • "Food was very good. ancillary waitstaff was nice. Our waiter checked in with us far too infrequently and therefore we were left many times within the restaurant wondering when our waiter would come back. For a fine restaurant and inexpensive restaurant I find this unacceptable. Also a caution for those who are going and a party of two, everyone is seated right next to each other when people are getting in and out of their seats theater she is in your face. Because of the closeness also makes it very hard to hear the person on the other side of the table."

  • "When we asked for balsamic vinegar to accompany the provided olive oil, the waiter brought a bottle one finds on the shelves at the local grocery store! To start, we ordered a couple of appetizers - the baby octopus and the beet salad. The baby octopus was served in a tomato based sauce that must have been intended as Gerber's baby food. The beet salad, however, was a complete disaster. The vegetables tasted exactly as the ones from a supermarket, and not the organic kind. The balsamic vinaigrette tasted as if it had been prepared by Kraft, and the beets could have come out of a can, they were so flat and watered down. We chose not to go on with the rest of the menu."

  • "We live in this neighborhood. Waiting to dine at this restaurant when friends who are "foodies" visited us in Miami Beach. Sardinia is truly a unique restaurant. We found the staff pleasant, and nowledgeable about the menu, and the preparation, and the specials. Sardinia did not disappoint. The food appeared to be prepared fresh for every order, the ingredients were remarkably fresh and delicious. The wine list was appropriate and we found a Sardinian wine that pleased us 2 times. May I recommend the Ossobuco? The salads are big enough to share, and the fact they you may purchase a half order of pasta is a plus for me, because I enjoy three courses in a restaurant of such quality. Highly recommend Sardinia. "

  • "if the food was great we would have been happy. the artichoke appetizer was over cooked and dry and burned, the salads were great, but the flounder cooked in parchment was bland, the potatoes and asparagus mushy, and there was not much flounder to even speak of. in fact, there was like 2 bites of fish. we would not go back!"

  • "Good food great service. Good size portions, non-traditional appetizers. Octopus was delicious, Steak tartar could be better kinda tasteless. Meat selection is not enough. Service is great & professional. Good wine list but bottles are very pricey for n'hood place."

  • "Nothing but compliments. The seafood and pasta were very good, the service and personal attention of waiters and the manager give a special touch, and the place is spacious and comfortable. All together a great place for groups, couples or families. For a fair price you will get it all: great food, service and location."

  • "Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in this town, but Sardinia is a world apart. First of all, the cuisine is a regional cuisine, and well-crafted. Then, there are appetizers (again non-traditional) or you can have selections of cheeses, or meats , or veggies. The delicious pastas can be had in half-portion which is a plus as well as the wine that can be had in glass, quartino (my fave) and bottle. With the quartino, you can haved a nice amount & switch from white to red at a reasonable amount. The servers are also very professional although it was a bit slow on a recent Saturday. The only con is the very high wine prices--a bottle of Cannonanu can be had at much, much less in local restaurants. But all in all, this place is a winner!"

  • "We've been regulars here for three years, since we moved to the n'hood and always enjoyed the food and ambience and the service. In the last year the quality of the food has gone downhill considerably, as the competition in the n'hood from new restaurants has gone up. Wonder if Icebox or Le PetitBistro or one of e Pubbellies stole Sardinia's chef and staff. The service is still excellent, and the ie ce is friendly and warm and casual, though a little too loud in the main dining area."

  • "From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left the experience was truly perfect. For some reason they did not have our open table reservation and the hostess did not skip a beat and said not to worry she will seat us right away. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat. The service was perfectly attentive and not overwhelming. The food was delicious from start to finish. I came with relatives from out of town who are foodies and they truly enjoyed it. Will definitely return."
