    David has been a professional musician since the age of 17. He has played in numerous bands, opening for various acts such as Steppenwolf, Black Oak Arkansas, Rick Derringer, Crash Test Dummies and more. Versatile and accommodating David takes and plays requests from Led Zeppelin to Elvis Presley to the Everly Brothers.

  • "This was my 3rd time dining here and it seems to have lost a beat. Service was off - slow and very "non-genuine". Food was fair at best. Sea bass was over cooked and had to be sent back (chef argued with us that it was cooked correctly), steak was near flavorless. Best part of the meal was their dessert choices and their eccentric presentations - very cool."

Artichoke soup the best! Delicious rib eye/prime rib and seafood and she'll fish yum! My favorite is a flaming sardine for dessert after dinner drink! I always take someone to celebrate there bday there as well! Been going for 25 years it more!"

  • "Bar service poor, waited 15 minutes in the bar for a cocktail. Hostess for dinner seating nice. Brought a bottle of wine, our server and not one other worker poured our wine. Chowder was okay, calamari good but overall the poor service made the experience disappointing at best. Our most recent visit prior to this one was very good but it seems now to have deteriorated. Won't go back again."

  • "This is my second trip to SF - the first being many years ago and I remember then it was excellent. I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the prawn rigatoni. The pasta was sticky, as though it had been sitting on the stove for hours after draining. The white sauce was thick and it too looked as though it had been sitting on the stove and merely warmed before serving. My dish was not worth $27. My friend ordered a fish dinner, and he too said for the price it was not great. I would not return to this restaurant. There are so many other good places in Monterey."

  • "Real, historic vibe; feels slightly stuffy with heavy draperies and pressed tin ceiling. Although our server was pleasant & attentive, he mixed up my husband's entree. He was very apologetic, and made good by comping us a dessert and a side of crab meat which would have come with the intended dish. The food was good but I would say "uninspired" -fresh seafood which I would expect nothing less being in Monterey, nothing spectacular-definitely on the pricey side. Good place to dine or celebrate with your parents or grand-parents."

  • "We've dined at the Sardine factory a number of times as a couple. This time we added our kids & a couple of grandkids, one 9 & one 2. I hesitated to come here since most folks here are in couples. They surprised us. The restaurant is prepared for children and offered an appropriate menu for them along with their own coloring distraction . The waiter interacted well with the kids without ignoring the adults. We were seated in the solarium but there are quieter, more intimate areas in the restaurant. The food was excellent as usual with the sand dab again a stand-out favorite. Deserts were excellent. The Chocolate Sardines in a can were a big hit with our 9 year old granddaughter."

  • "Multiple visits here, and this one was a little below their usual standard. Dined in the Conservatory room which is always a nice setting. Fish this evening was over-done, both mine and my wife's and that is unusal based on our history--normally the food has been spot-on. Also had some wine spilled during serving but looked like the decanter had an indentation in it that wasn't noticed. Attention from the servers was very good as always."

Our experience was disappointing...very expensive but not quality food...sardines were from a can...had expected fresh ones...food was very heavy and not appetizing...will not return.   • "My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Sardine Factory on a recent trip to Monterrey and it is not to be missed. The seafood is so fresh you would think it was caught to order. The abalone bisque is worth traveling for alone. Service was impeccable and the wine list superb. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable if you need a suggestion. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth like I do, the bon bons are a must after your meal and the presentation is a show itself. The night before we ate at a competing restaurant and I wish I could go back and just book here twice."

  • "I was hoping for something more in terms of the overall meal. I'm a huge fan of the Maryland lump crab meat and the crabcake appetizer did not disappoint. I wasn't enthused about the escargots or my petite filet mignon. I had asked for it medium rare and it came out medium well. The tiramisu also had an interesting somewhat fruity twist and I'm a fan of the traditional homestyle presentation. Overall I felt it missed the mark but would be willing to try again..."

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his 33rd birthday and we had such a wonderful time. When we got there we felt like we were stepping through time to another place or a James Bond movie set, our table wasn't ready which gave us an opportunity to check out the wonderful bar and lounge area with a piano player. We got seated in the conservatory which was quite romantic, it felt like enjoying an evening in the garden. We wanted the prime rib but alas, they had just run out before we got there, so we decided to get more appetizers and share a steak! We had the Baked Oysters Rockefeller, the Truffled Tater Tots, the Chive Risotto, and a perfectly medium rare Nebraska steak. Our servers were attentive through the whole evening."

  • "Sardine Factory is great. Excellent food and impeccable service. Our waitress, Laksana was a gem. She made sure we were well taken care of. Our bus boy Angelo is the hardest working person at Sardine Factory. He always made sure we had everything we needed. He promptly took our plates away when we wanted him to and he kept our water and drink glasses full at all times. The food is outstanding. We wanted to order everything on the menu. The fish is sustainably caught and super fresh. The steak is melt in your mouth amazing. The highlight was the Oysters Rockefeller. It's hard to get it right and its perfect every time at the Sardine Factory. The wine selection lists a lot of amazing local wines and don't skip the deserts!"

  • "My wife's salmon was overcooked, the asparagus was bland and The parmesan crusted Calamari had no flavor. the scallops and prawns that came with it were excellent... but there were only 2 of each. I wish I could have had a plateful of those instead. At $40 a plate, we expected better."

We are both from here locally and we are really surprised how great the food was compared to all others we've had before. It is truly a great experience dining here from the ambiance, to the scenery and especially the food! Never have I tasted food like the way they do, even though some restaurants have the same menu, they simply have the best taste and quality you would never expect. Me and my wife both enjoyed our first time here and we promised ourselves we are definitely coming back. Great restaurant and one of a kind, we are so delighted that we are just a few minutes away! Valet parking, live piano music and well stocked bar selection and top tier staff. Two of our party ordered steak (at a seafood restaurant?) and it was perfect. Just proves that whatever they off is going to be wonderful. It is not cheap but worth it."

  • "this has long been one of my favorite places but it has gotten to noisy and to crowded for my liking. When I spend $350-400+ for dinner I don't expect to be in an over crowed place that is so noisy I can't talk to my wife. Tables are so cramped people can't get to their seat without banging into my table while I am eating and almost spilled my wine! Food is still incredible and staff are professional and excellent but the ambiance has just degraded to a "normal" restaurant rather than a top of the line establishment, sad and disappointed."

  • "This was my first visit there. Made a reservation for 3. Showed up early. They seated us without having us wait. The setting was amazing. We were seated in an outdoor style section. It was like sitting in a big dome. Plenty of natural lighting but not too much. Just right. Plenty of trees and plants gave it a nice decor. Plenty of options on the menu. We have a six year old and the kids menu was perfect. A nice petite filet for the little guy. Was the perfect portion of steak and vegetables for him. We also had the swordfish and salmon. Both delicious. The abalone bisque. .. Was amazing. Just like the menu said. Throughout the evening. . We were attended to.. But not too much to be annoying. It was a full house too."
