Today's experience not one to remember. Ordered an item on the 'specials' menu, so was hoping for special. What was served was lack luster, not as described and truly missing the mark. Our 'pear and Gorgonzola' salads, a speciality item, was missing not just the Gorgonzola (thus unaptly named), but also cranberries and candied walnuts. We asked for the dressing to be lightly tossed and it was not; it was on the side. The chef ignored our customer requests and her own recipe! If the item is featured, the customer should expect it to be special. When asked about the missing ingredients, we were brought small bowls for the 2 of us to split!!!! Service was inattentive. If a restaurant do 'specials, what hope is there for the rest of the menu?

My husband enjoys this place and I can't figure out why? The service is poor, our waitress looked peeved when we didn't order wine or an apptz. It was a Sunday night and we had to work the next day! Wine doesn't mix. She was a bit sarcastic when I asked her about the ingredients in the salad and was obnoxious when we asked about the specials. We thought it was two (fish and risotto) different courses when it was one item. Sorry. It might have been the coupons which keep my husband returning because we have never gone otherwise. There are so many better restaurants and seriously with the level (not) of service it doesn't seem like a LE Restaurant.

Overall we had a great experience. The pros: Chicken meatball for an appetizer was surprisingly everyone's favorite. Great Caesar salad. Skirt steak was perfect - nicely seasoned with caramelized onions, great portion and perfectly cooked. The cons: Parking - definitely use the free valet and splurge on a tip (the parking lot is crazy!). Getting drinks from bar - not sure if it was the waitresses fault or bartenders, but it took a long time to get drinks. The manager and assistant manager came around frequently to make sure everything was good, so this did help a bit.

Service was disappointing - attentive at first until our entrees were ordered and then it was impossible to snag our server's attention to order a second drink. Instead of apologizing for his inattentiveness, he was condescending. While my entree was delicious (Braised Beef Ravioli), my husband's was lacking the heat level suggested on the menu; server was dismissive and a manager was rude. It was a disappointing evening and we normally love Saranello's. Maybe it was an off night for our server and the restaurant but it was definitely not the experience we're accustomed to.

Saranella's location is convenient but don't think your going to get "hotel food" or pricing. Menu is well priced and offers a great variety of options. I am eating low-carb and the server could not have been more accommodating, substituting cauliflower for green beans on the trout special. It was delicious! I had only been here on one other occasion but I know I will be a regular now. The thin crust pizza looked incredible...but definitely not low carb!

this was the third time we were there. the first 2 times were great, this time something had changed and not for the better. We had reservation for 7:30PM, but were not seated until after 8:00PM the table was not set, there were no silverware, the waitress broth 2 sets then vent looking for 2 more. The olive oil bottle was not on the table as well. The food (I had the nuts Crusted white fish) was bland, there was almost no nuts on the crust, just a little fried. this time it was just drab. Seemed there was somebody else doing the cooking. They were very crowded. The shortcomings of that were very evident. If they continue cutting corners, soon it'll become a lot less crowded. We, for ones, will stay away for now.

Very unhappy with the service this visit. Last time we dined at lunch we had a wonderful waiter. This time our waitress disappeared after we ordered. 2 entree salads were delivered by other people while we were still eating our soup and the third person in our party did not get her food for another 5 minutes. We didn't see our server until she brought our check. Not going back anytime soon.

I had the Chicken Limone and it was delicious, the chef really knows what he is doing from dinner to desert. The Chicken was moist and tender and the sauce was very light and savory. A member of our party had food restrictions, they made gluten free/vegan pasta for her. Would return again. Made reservtions though OpenTable, received email confirmation, restaurant did not have my name upon arrival. Thankfully it was for a small team lunch, they had a table.

I know I can go to Saranello's and always find something on their specials for the night. Or almost anything on their regular menu depending on what kind of mood I'm in. They have great encrusted fish, their pastas and lasagna are all good. We tried the kale salad with roasted garbanzo and fresh parmesan with caesar dressing-very tasty! And as always, good service. The space is quite large and very crowded with too many tables crammed in, so it was very loud & servers struggled to reach the tables. We decided to order 2 of the signature cocktails, mine was called "Pear of Lemons" I was mystified when my husband's drink was served and I received an empty Collins glass with a couple of lemons. When I asked the server where my cocktail was she pointed to the glass and said she thought I just wanted lemons for my water. LOL . Anyway, the cocktails were too sweet & the wine list is just average. The food was good, I had the Pappardelle and my husband had the Veal Saltimbocca, but I never received the salad I ordered. We decided to pass on dessert and just get out of there. Crossing this one off our list.

I loved the menu options and the twists on the classics, like bananas in the tiramisu and giardinara with the calamari, yum. Our waiter was a wonderful tour guide and everyone enjoyed dishes we would not have tried had we simply ordered our usual Italian favorites. The only negative from one friend, "pork chops were a bit dry". Over all, we had a great time and we are considering a reservation for Rosh Hosanna.

There were 3 of us who go out a few times a year. It was my 2nd time here (first was family-style with a larger group). It was the first time for another person. Selections were short ribs, skirt steak, eggplant parmesan. We all loved our food. Also had very good wine and dessert. Our server, Jay, was very present (just the right amount) and we were able to linger after dinner as long as we wanted (almost 4 hours total). All in all, a great experience. We will definitely return!

We tried Saranello's on a lark. I received a bunch of LEY coupon cards for restaurants throughout Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Decided to try one close to us in Wheeling for a change of pace for our anniversary. What a pleasant surprise. Pulling up I was worried since it was attached to a hotel. But upon sitting down and our first interaction with our lovely waitress I was encouraged it would be a nice night. And it was - super service, good italian and a surprise anniversary dessert. Nicely done.

Food is okay for a suburban restaurant but the reservation is meaningless. This is the third time we have visited this restaurant and each time they are running late for seating (at least 15 to 30 minutes) and then it takes your server way too much time to get anything. Ordered a bottle of wine on two visits and it took 15 minutes to arrive the second visit they brought the wrong wine and it took another 10 minutes to get the right bottle. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else.

Server attentive, but service could have been a little faster. We arrived before 5 on a weekday, when the place was quite empty, and were seated in a narrow area between west-facing windows and an aisle, that held perhaps 8 tables. It was bright, even with shades on the windows. As other diners arrived, the host proceeded to place guests in the SAME area of the restaurant until all nearby tables were filled. I dine out very seldom, so the fact that we were all crowded in the same small section of a large restaurant was really irritating, and diminished the experience.
