  • "I was visiting NYC with 3 of my friends and heard that this was the place to go for brunch. Our server was so friendly and very attentive. I wish I could remember her name. We were rather high maintenance, asking for a lot of extra items all at once, but she was fantastic. Even the bus boys were very friendly! We ordered: buttermilk pancakes, apple-cinnamon french toast, jalapeno cheddar omelette, and the spinach and goat cheese omelette. The food was perfect, simple, and not pretentious (as some NYC brunch places can be). My only complaint was with the hostess (hence the 4 stars for service). She had us wait for a table (even with a reservation), which is fine, but I wish she had communicated with us more about why we weren't seated yet."

  • "Sarabeth's is a favourite brunch spot for me while in NYC. This time I took my daughter with me and the staff was very accommodating of her dairy allergy which was greatly appreciated. Everything was very yummy (almond crusted French toast, salmon eggs benedict, sausage, and bacon). I would highly recommend this location and the one on Central Park South as I've been to both. Just beware that it can be pricy. This was our most expensive meal in NYC but well worth it! :)"

  • "Went with SIL for Restaurant Week. We each chose from the Restaurant Week menu. The wedge appetizer was fine, cucumber melon gazpacho was overly sweet. Mains were nothing special. They looked good but again, just OK. SIL's chicken Caesar salad burger looked nice and was sitting on a pretty salad but the burger was dry- wasn't served with any condiments at all. Could have used aioli sauce or something. She used the horseradish sauce that came with my steak sandwich to give it some life. The steak sandwich looked good too but the meat was barely warm and dry. Dessert was fair. Had the ice cream sandwich which was just a chipwich. Sorbet with fruit was boring. No attempt to make it special."

  • "I don't know if it was because we were restaurant week diners or what but despite the amazing food, I wouldn't go back here because I felt we were rush out. Would be good if you had something else to go do, but I didn't appreciate the second course being placed on the table while we were barely into the first. Not only did it make for a tight table where we had to stack our plates, it made us feel unwelcome. Despite the food being delivered so quickly, it was difficult to get a water refill. I do restaurant week as a way to test out restaurants less expensively so I can determine where to go when my boss needs a place to take clients or when relatives come to town, but this place did not pass the test."

  • "Our waiter Matthew was fantastic. Attentive, and friendly. Food was very mediocre. We ordered the seafood cobb salad. WOw..very overrated. one little piece of shrimp in a small bowl. A cobb salad should be pleasing to the eyes as well as the taste buds. And the egg in a cobb salad should be sliced not diced. The hamburger we ordered was great. But the cookie plate sampler was nothing great."

  • "Having been to Primehouse [ at this location for 5 years ] we were so disappointed in the new restaurant. They remodeled it for the worse and the staff does not compare. The food is good, but compared to Primehouse it's like eating in an upscale diner. BRING BACK PRIMEHOUSE!"

  • "Sarabeth's seemed like a nice place to go for brunch or lunch with girlfriends. I was really excited about going for the first time yet my experience wasn't extraordinary. The food was ok, but not great and the service was poor. We ordered a Prosecco bottle and our server never came back to refill our flutes. Every time we asked for something we had to wait quite a while to get it and and it wasn't a busy afternoon at the restaurant, it was empty. I do have to say that the menu seems to offer a nice brunch selection."

  • "The interior of Sarabeth's is impressive: open, accommodating to the large crowd, maintaining a little privacy despite the volume. We ate outside, which was nice, but I felt the service was not particularly responsive. Everything was delivered to the table courteously, but it felt rushed. The food was good. Latte was good. And the value was excellent: there are many far more expensive restaurants that offer less tasty fare. We liked the balance of tastes: short rib with eggs had some jalapeno bite to it. Omelet was well-prepared. Satisfying but not spectacular."

  • "Not sure if related to Restaurant Week or not, but the service received was horrendous. My guest and I waited 20+ minutes for the app course. Then after that was cleared, our server approached to ask our dessert selections. Assuming she wanted to enter them in advance, we placed our orders. She then delivers flatware for a dessert course & before I can tell her we hadn't had entrees, she disappeared. Continued to try and get somebody's attention to no avail. The runner shows up 8+ minutes later with entrees at which point the server comes back & says "Oh, I didn't realize you hadn't had entrees yet. Let me make sure your desserts don't get sent out." Saw other guests getting up to retrieve water from service stations as well."

  • "Sarabeth's a great place place to go when I'm with a group of friends and when we want to have conversation as well as fine, comforting food. I've been there for brunch several times and always enjoy the omelets, with terrific crunchy bread and superb preserves. Everyone who had the skirt steak sandwich with fries raved about it as well as the ahi tuna. I loved the salmon and perfectly roasted chicken & heard the filet mignon was great for carnivores. The lovely room with delicate lighting makes it a great place any time of day."

  • "This was first visit to Sarabeth's in NYC. It is quite energetic and filled with lots of young adults. The menu has lots of interesting choices and we opted for one of the omelettes. The service was pretty good, not great. The food was very good, our egg white omelettes were a little on the small size given the price, enough for us, but probably not for larger appetites. The cost for 2 including tip was $60, which is a little pricey for lunch. It's a nice place that's not quite in the main tourist area."

  • "The scambled eggs with cream cheese and scallions in a popover was a large serving but cream cheese was not mixed through so a bite could be mostly cream cheese or egg; the popover was acceptable but overcooked & a bit tough. I was remembering my mother's light fluffy and heavenly-these were not. Braised short rib hash was good but didn't wow us."

  • "we've been to Sarabeth's in central park and prefer that restaurant. For such a new restaurant the cleanliness was expected to be better. There was food on the chairs and the floor. The bathrooms were only moderately clean. I had greater expectations given the number of staff at the restaurant. The food was ok - the quality was no different than a diner which is really half the price. There happened to be screaming children during our brunch."

  • "This place was recommended to me by a friend that went when he visited NYC w his family. We chose the Park Ave one as its closer. The rest was nicely decorated and the ambience for a brunch felt surprisingly romantic. Our sever was excellent and on top of our order. We never had an empty cup of coffee. I order the fat and fluffy french toast which were delicious and my fb ordered the scramble egg stuffed popovers and both were delicious. Portions were good so we share. Hope our next time here continues to be the as good as our first time in this Manhattan spot."

  • "We made a reservation for 2 at 12:45 on a Saturday - we arrived at 12:42 and they said, it's not time yet, wait 3 mins. We waited and waited and finally said something when we were not seated at 12:55. Then she said give us another 2-3 mins. Then that took another 10 mins. by the end, we waited more than 1/2 hour for the table. They asked oh, we have a table outside if you want to be seated immediately. Once I said no, we prefer a table inside, somehow they miraculously had a table for us. We use to love Sarabeth's and would trek to the UWS for their Red Omlette, we didn't mind the wait because they almost always gave perfect time estimates. But with the menu change and not honoring their time commitments. it's just not worth it anymore"

  • "Sarabeth's knows brunch. Their location on Park Avenue South has perfected the ambience, food, and service that New Yorkers expect for brunch. Pretty much the complete package, from the delicious Bloody Marys to the bread basket with jams to the perfectly poached Eggs Benedict and fluffy pancakes. The space is huge, so you can be seated as soon as you arrive, a refreshing contrast to the Central Park South location."

  • "Good news is reservations on Open Table worked so our wait was only 15 minutes (not 45) and it's a large place, lots of tables and good location but the food was only so-so and waitstaff was a little distracted. Don't get crab Benedict (frozen machine made crab cake patty dropped into the fryer and over cooked at that). No muffin baskets available. A bit of a disappointment. Just not the same as uptown."
