  • "Great food and space. Horrific service and lack of attentiveness from server staff"

  • "Not sure if related to Restaurant Week or not, but the service received was horrendous. My guest and I waited 20+ minutes for the app course. Then after that was cleared, our server approached to ask our dessert selections. Assuming she wanted to enter them in advance, we placed our orders. She then delivers flatware for a dessert course & before I can tell her we hadn't had entrees, she disappeared. Continued to try and get somebody's attention to no avail. The runner shows up 8+ minutes later with entrees at which point the server comes back & says "Oh, I didn't realize you hadn't had entrees yet. Let me make sure your desserts don't get sent out." Saw other guests getting up to retrieve water from service stations as well."

  • "Sarabeth's a great place place to go when I'm with a group of friends and when we want to have conversation as well as fine, comforting food. I've been there for brunch several times and always enjoy the omelets, with terrific crunchy bread and superb preserves. Everyone who had the skirt steak sandwich with fries raved about it as well as the ahi tuna. I loved the salmon and perfectly roasted chicken & heard the filet mignon was great for carnivores. The lovely room with delicate lighting makes it a great place any time of day."

  • "Sarabeths by Central Park is nicer I think the food is even better. This place didn't have that homey feeling like the C.P. location has. Need to work on their table setting also.Had to stir my tea with my fork. I don't think I'll be back to this location."

  • "This was first visit to Sarabeth's in NYC. It is quite energetic and filled with lots of young adults. The menu has lots of interesting choices and we opted for one of the omelettes. The service was pretty good, not great. The food was very good, our egg white omelettes were a little on the small size given the price, enough for us, but probably not for larger appetites. The cost for 2 including tip was $60, which is a little pricey for lunch. It's a nice place that's not quite in the main tourist area."

  • "The restaurant only opens at 8am so don't get there any earlier. The food was good although the portions not particularly generous given the prices. The service is ok (had to ask a few times for coffee refills) and the restaurant isn't noisy so perfect for a breakfast meeting."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "The scambled eggs with cream cheese and scallions in a popover was a large serving but cream cheese was not mixed through so a bite could be mostly cream cheese or egg; the popover was acceptable but overcooked & a bit tough. I was remembering my mother's light fluffy and heavenly-these were not. Braised short rib hash was good but didn't wow us."

  • "The tomato soup and pretzel bread grilled cheese was delicious and fresh. Get the cookie plate as a little sweet treat after brunch. The four flower mimosa was worth the money and something different for my taste buds."

  • "I remember the Sara Beth's from upper west side years ago. I do to know if this Sara Beth's is just fair or maybe all of them are grossly overrated."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "Sarabeth around Central Park is great but long wait times for brunch and crowded feeling. Park Avenue South location is very comfortable large space and excellent location where there is no wait for brunch! Food is excellent as other locations."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "We took a group of eight for breakfast during a conference (it's a 10-minute walk from the Grand Hyatt). The food was exceptional. The Goldie Lox seemed to be a table favorite, as was the French toast."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "Our server was friendly and all but I found the service to be a little rushed. The server did not ask us if we needed anything else before she prematurely and quickly brought us the bill."

  • "we've been to Sarabeth's in central park and prefer that restaurant. For such a new restaurant the cleanliness was expected to be better. There was food on the chairs and the floor. The bathrooms were only moderately clean. I had greater expectations given the number of staff at the restaurant. The food was ok - the quality was no different than a diner which is really half the price. There happened to be screaming children during our brunch."

  • "Had an amazing brunch here on a sunny Saturday after the 4th! Sat outside in the sunshine, the service was quick maybe the server could of had a bit more English! Food was amazing big portions of pancakes and waffles! We were late for our reservation but there were no issues about it when we arrived!"

  • "This place was recommended to me by a friend that went when he visited NYC w his family. We chose the Park Ave one as its closer. The rest was nicely decorated and the ambience for a brunch felt surprisingly romantic. Our sever was excellent and on top of our order. We never had an empty cup of coffee. I order the fat and fluffy french toast which were delicious and my fb ordered the scramble egg stuffed popovers and both were delicious. Portions were good so we share. Hope our next time here continues to be the as good as our first time in this Manhattan spot."

  • "We made a reservation for 2 at 12:45 on a Saturday - we arrived at 12:42 and they said, it's not time yet, wait 3 mins. We waited and waited and finally said something when we were not seated at 12:55. Then she said give us another 2-3 mins. Then that took another 10 mins. by the end, we waited more than 1/2 hour for the table. They asked oh, we have a table outside if you want to be seated immediately. Once I said no, we prefer a table inside, somehow they miraculously had a table for us. We use to love Sarabeth's and would trek to the UWS for their Red Omlette, we didn't mind the wait because they almost always gave perfect time estimates. But with the menu change and not honoring their time commitments. it's just not worth it anymore"

  • "Sarabeth's knows brunch. Their location on Park Avenue South has perfected the ambience, food, and service that New Yorkers expect for brunch. Pretty much the complete package, from the delicious Bloody Marys to the bread basket with jams to the perfectly poached Eggs Benedict and fluffy pancakes. The space is huge, so you can be seated as soon as you arrive, a refreshing contrast to the Central Park South location."

  • "This is the place for breakfast in NYC. Great location, good food, excellent selection."

  • "Good news is reservations on Open Table worked so our wait was only 15 minutes (not 45) and it's a large place, lots of tables and good location but the food was only so-so and waitstaff was a little distracted. Don't get crab Benedict (frozen machine made crab cake patty dropped into the fryer and over cooked at that). No muffin baskets available. A bit of a disappointment. Just not the same as uptown."

  • "Great everything .... Sunday Brunch was excellent but beware the crowds... Make sure you have a reservation and be prepared to wait!"

  • "Ambiance was great...overpriced for the quality of food..but overall, we were satisfied with our choice at dinning here, though I doubt we will be going back."

  • "Excellent food and service. Love those scrambled eggs made with cream cheese and lox. Restaurant is beautiful and well maintained. The experience is most favorable."

  • "Menu was great. Food was excellent. Service was choppy. Server came several times asking if we were ready to order, within first 15 minutes we sat down. The table was not cleared of the first course, when server brought next course. Server also took silverware and did not replace them. We had to get up to find some. Nice jazz music and attractive restaurant."

  • "This place is excellent. Every time I go I try something new off the menu and it has all been delicious. Prices are reasonable for the food you are getting and the decor and atmosphere is perfect for dining with friends, corporate outings or something romantic. They also have outside seating for those beautiful NYC days and nights. I highly recommend trying it!"

  • "Had a lovely Sunday brunch at Sarabeths. The food was very good (coconut waffle and jalapeno/cheese omelet), though it wasn't outstanding in terms of being something extra special. The service was fine, though the servers were very busy, and thus we had to flag down our waitress when we needed something. The tables are also very close together so you sit very close and cozy with other diners, but it's a popular place with lots of folks dining. I did notice that they have a separate area for large parties, such as a special occasion gathering. I might go again sometime to try their lunch menu. It's a nice, bright place to meet friends and overall I'd say give it a try."

  • "A friend and i went to Sarabeths for mid week brunch and it was awesome. you have to try the coconut/mango waffles, they were incredible - just melted in my mouth. the service was soooooo good, very attentive and friendly. i can't wait to go back"

  • "The food is very good and the service is great too - they are all very very nice. A little slow though when it fills up a bit. Great spot for breakfast or lunch - especially meeting clients as it is classy, notable and convenient."

  • "We first went to Sarabeth's on Amsterdam Avenue years ago waiting to board for a cruise. We had a wonderful breakfast. Since then we've been to the Tribeca location for breakfast, also great, and back to Amsterdam Avenue for breakfast, dinner and Park Avenue south for breakfast. All were perfect meals. Came home and ordered Sarabeth's cookbook. Can't wait to go back to NY to go to Sarabeth's again!"

  • "Usually the place is spot on. Had the seafood Cobb salad and so did my friend Lindsay. We were both in the can exploding within an hour (separately). Felt much better after it came out though. "

  • "One of the best places in NYC for a quiet brunch with great food. Definitely recommend!"
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "Pro: I made a reservation and was seated promptly Con: when my food arrived it had a hair in it (serving staff took it away and then came back with a "new" plate suspiciously quickly - We ordered drinks and 2/3 arrived. We had to ask for the beer from 4 different people - Waitress seemed flustered and tried to apologize, but didn't really say much Overall very odd experience. Do not think I will be coming back."

  • "I read great reviews for this place and went there based on them but frankly was under-whelmed. Booth was dirty with crumbs. "Signature" expensive bloody mary was watery and not memorable. The food was ok but honestly not something that was worth returning for in the future."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "Service isn't great. Think it's a "system" issue. There is one person who takes the order, but other people bring it out, and they don't get specifics of order. If wait person were to bring food out themselves, they might notice that the extra basil one asked for on the pizza was missed, or that the sauce requested with the crabcake was forgotten. Crabcake was good, but a little fishy. I asked for it served on a salad, vs. as a sandwich. The lettuce of chopped so fine, I could barely taste it (definitely not crunchy). Pizza was nothing special. Crust was a bit soggy. Just one type of cheese, and four pieces of basil. Seems brunch is alot more together, when it comes to the food. Evening is quieter, but food isn't up to par."

  • "Compares to the other locations, this spot was lacking, to say the least. Service was not good at all!! My sparkling water had black things floating in it. My drink lacked juice and was all alcohol. Waffle was a soggy, floppy failure. The plating/presentation looked worse than how I'd prepare it at home. I always get the same thing and I've never seen it look so ...sad. The waiter(s?) rushed us out. We never got a name and saw different people the entire time. I'd stick to the other locations!"

  • "A few friends of mine were in town to celebrate my birthday and, having heard great things, we decided to stop by Sarabeth's for brunch. To say the food was good would be an understatement -- everything was perfect. The friendliness of our waiter made the dining experience all the better. Great experience overall!"

  • "I went for brunch with a friend who is pregnant and we ordered the apple cinnamon french toast as an appetizer LOL! It was absolutely amazing, I never had something so tasty. The kale and eggs was excellent as well. The food was great, however the service is very slow. Surprisingly enough they have a lot of staff but they seem to wonder around confused. It took them awhile to bring water and coffee and even longer to take an order, good thing my friend didn't deliver! However the food made up for it."
