A party there made it much noisier
than usual and less pleasant"

If you want a nice breakfast/lunch
spot on the UES during the week. This is the place. Great menu, great service! Try the passion fruit iced tea it's amazing!"
Dined on 4/9/2014
The only criticism is the
unnecessary noise principally generated by celebrating groups. Many women literally scream. The staff should politely control this better."
Dined on 4/5/2014
A wonderful range of interesting
and different breakfast items all cooked with fresh ingredients and high quality. Upper West Side location is a bit cramped and service, while friendly, is not great. Fabulous muffins and scones make up for any glitches in service."
Dined on 4/4/2014
Great Brunch. It's pricey but for
special ocasions it's perfect. Food and service were great. Try the pancakes!"

This is the best of all the
Sarabeths in town, and it's nice to get a good dnner there too. It's near Mt. Sinai, and if you have to be there, this is a good place to eat. Very good turkey burger."

Now that there are Sarabeth's
popping up all over the place - it is no wonder that there are lines out the door. But as far as a more civilized experience - the Upper East Side is the one to go to. I've been to several and while they are all delicious and welcoming (they never rush you out - even when there are tons of people waiting) - the dining experience on the UWS is wonderful. Again, it was my restaurant of choice when going to see a show at the 92nd Street Y. Luckily I had the same server that I had last time I was there - and she is amazing. She innately knows when to show up and when not to. I think this restaurant has a more intimate feeling than the others I've been to. The deserts are sublime - the Bread Puddding!!!"

Reasonably priced, well cooked
food. Great service from waiter and busboy. My date loved their shrimp, while I loved the walnut encrusted chicken with sweet potato puree and cooked artichokes. A short wait for table AND the food."

I have always enjoyed eating at
Sarabeth's East. The food is very good and service matches it. I go there believe or not for the 'Liver' that I find they cook and garnish to perfection. I would eat there more often if it was not for their noise level. You won't be disappointed with the meal you just may not hear what someone says sitting across from you."

Hard to describe why this place is
do delightful. It's comfortable and relaxing, but not frumpy. Service is warm, friendly and right on the money. The menu is interesting and delicious. Always responsive to dietary requirements and preferences. It's like homemade food that I wish my mother would make!"
Dined on 3/5/2014
We have been to other Sarabeth's
locations and have liked them all. This interior is just lovely with much architectural character. The Restaurant Week menu was excellent, and we were very surprised at the large portions of each course. A memorable evening!"

Since our daughter is called Sara
Elizabeth, we've been waiting for an occasion to take her to Sarabeth's. Finally went when my parents were in town, for an early weekend breakfast (the only time that was open for weeks)... Food and service was great. However, my parents felt rushed, because there were so many people already waiting for a table, so it wasn't really a relaxed atmosphere. It was fine for us, because the baby wasn't going to sit still for much longer, but nothing for people who are looking for a drawn-out, lazy weekend brunch."
Dined on 12/1/2013
great for a relaxing late lunch
after walking and visiting a few of the museums in the area."
Dined on 2/22/2014
Sarabeth's lived up to its
reputation as being a wonderful family-friendly restaurant. Menu was great. Very good service. My salmon was delicious and the waiter allowed me to substitute potatoes for the couscous. My son's burger was huge and perfectly grilled. We skipped desert and bought cookies from their bakery. Wonderful! We'll be back!"

I love Sarabeths so much this last
trip to NYC I went to the only one I had never been to Sarabeths East and decided it is my most favorite location. The service, the food is always A+++++. There is something for everyone. It is absolute perfection."
Dined on 11/23/2013
My friend and I just visited
Sarabeth's East and we had a very delightful experience. The food was fantastic, and the service was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a relaxing brunch with some girlfriends!"
Dined on 2/9/2014
Sara Beth's never fails to be a
local favorite! Food is fabulous! Great comforter food with a little twist on all your breakfast favorites."
Dined on 2/7/2014
Sarabeth's has always been a
favorite of mine in the neighborhood and on a snowy Tuesday afternoon is the perfect place for a warm cup of tea. The tea was fine, as was the service, but the tea sandwiches tasted like they'd been made the day before! The bread was completely stale and the portion were mouse-sized. Given how much Sarabeth's charges for them, they should have at least been fresh!"
Dined on 2/4/2014
this is quite a beautiful and
inexpensive spot for a breakfast, but the opening time of 8 is just a bit to late to feel comfortable inviting people for an 8 breakfast which is a pretty late start to begin with. that said, staff is very attentive, food is excellent as is the pricing, and while the interior is a little tired it is homey and there is space enjoyed it quite a bit and can certainly recommend it."
Dined on 2/6/2014
This place used to be so special
... no longer. Just an average brunch, average eggs, breads, oatmeal. Nothing so out-of-the-ordinary. And expensive."
Dined on 2/2/2014
Sarabeth's is consistant in food
and service. The new menu is nice. I got the penne paste with short rib ragu and it was ok, needed more meat though. Great bread basket."
Dined on 2/2/2014
For two weeks every year (for 15+
years now), we have breakfast here almost every morning and often dinner too and are NEVER disappointed. The food is perfection and they keep up with food trends in an unselfconscious and quietly elegant way.... What could be better?! Could be one of NYC's perfect restaurants. I'm here often at other times too - difficult to stay away!"

Fabulous food, great service. This
Resturant never misses."

The food and service is always
great. Sarabeth's never disappoints. Its a wonderful place to catch up with friends."

Always made to feel welcome
whatever time it is , Sarabeth's East is a genuine pleasure with its sparkling linens, flexible menu and delicious desserts. The service was excellent and the specials were varied, as was the menu from a hamburger up to a delicious fish dish. The bread and rolls were great and the cookies were too good to leave. Always reliable and warm."
Dined on 1/14/2014
The low noise level was a pleasant
surprise in such a busy restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The entrees were not especially distinguished, but everyone enjoyed what they had and we would definitely go back."
Dined on 1/11/2014
The best deal here us the wine.
Food is ok. I had a risotto that was a bit heavy, but branzino was pretty good, and chicken was also good. However, a cardinal sin: we ordered espresso and received regular coffee in a small cup. I just don't have time for such shenanigans. That really turned me off."
Dined on 1/11/2014
The quality of the food: flavor,
quality, preparation, presentation is really slipping here. Large square ravioli floating in too much broth with soggy, tasteless vegetable -- very difficult to eat, and not worth the trouble. Even as a neighborhood go to, I will think twice about having dinner here again."
Dined on 1/10/2014
The room is beautiful. The food is
great. The service is pleasant and attentive. We love sarabeth's!"
Dined on 1/4/2014
My husband and I had a very
enjoyable meal here last night. They have a nice wine by the glass option of getting a glass and a half which is usually perfect for me. The Guacamole with house made chips was an excellent appetizer. The crab cake appetizer and duck breast entree were very good. You also must buy some of their famous baked goods on your way out!"
Dined on 1/4/2014
Me and my partner ordered the 3
course menu. The tomato soup was great. However, the Risotto that I ordered was undercooked. My partner ordered lobster which was ordinary, not great. I ordered ravioli as the main and was disappointed again. It lacked flavour and was undercooked. They were out of chocolate soufflé cake so the server exchanged it with chocolate cake. The server was nice and at least given us an option beside there pre-fixed option which we didn't wanted. The cake was dry and wasn't of very good quality. We should have gone with the gelato."
Dined on 12/31/2013
For the most part, the food was
excellent. I would highly recommend the tomato soup. I also ordered the chicken pot pie, and it came in a dish with a croissant on the top, which I found strange. Great atmosphere, bright and not loud."
Dined on 12/31/2013
It was the day after Christmas,
8:30PM, so all quiet and we were seated right away, though we had reservations. The staff was great. Food average to non-plused, a bit on the average side, almost all of it tasting the same."
Dined on 12/26/2013
Perfect spot for a simple, casual
meal. Good cooking and reasonable."
Dined on 12/14/2013
Great food and service. We were a
group of six and requested the alcove seating, which is perfect for us older folks, no bothersome background noise. It does get a bit warm as it has a lower ceiling than the rest of the room."
Dined on 12/13/2013
It's hard not to feel that you're
stepping into a shot from a Woody Allen film circa ANNIE HALL at Sarabeth. For a respite from hipster pretensions and a charming, old school ambience high enough on Madison that it feels more friendly than hedge Fund-y, Sarabeth offered us delicious, all American food with goodly portions for a cold winter night and a welcoming staff that made us linger long after the meal."
Dined on 12/9/2013
I can always depend on Sarabeth's
for great food, great service and a lovely vibe."
Dined on 12/4/2013
A little stodgy but delicious and
quietly pleasant. Great duck!"
Dined on 12/3/2013
I've been living on the UES for
quite some time and have never been here. I was definitely not disappointed! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. I'd love to try for brunch....finally!"
Dined on 11/29/2013
I don't really spend a lot of time
on the Upper East Side. But whenever I go to the 92nd Street Y, this will be my "go to" place. I loved everything about Sarabeth's. It's warm and cozy, the service was outstanding, the food wonderfu and the overall ambience was wonderful. I had a lovely Red Snapper that was prepared perfectly. Thank you for making my experience with my dear friend a memorable one."
