  • "We saw others' reviews and decided to try. At certain times of the day there is a wait because the food and service as that good! We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere as well. All of the small touches, right down to the hand-painted ceilings, offered a light and refreshing environment for the great food. Sarabeth's offers fabulous variety in the menu, no matter which meal you're there for."

  • "For this recent trip to Sarabeth's, I surprised my mom for a special mother-daughter lunch. For a Friday afternoon it seemed to be very busy but with a reservation booked at the beginning of the week, we were seated right away. Breakfast items were being served until 3pm so of course we had to take advantage of that. I ordered the spinach and goat cheese omelet with a pumpkin muffin on the side and my mom ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. Everything was delicious! Sarabeth's should be a must on everyone's list. I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time because the wait could be very long, especially on the weekends. But the food is always amazing!"

  • "This restaurant is a great place with plenty going on, the food and service were very good although it was a little noisy and chaotic for us. From the moment we entered we were crammed into the foyer and just stood around waiting for a table. I know space is a premium in NYC but we are not used to this bring from the uk. Overall a good experience to say we have been but and although you must go, wouldn't go again!!!"

  • "I've eaten at this Sarabeth's before for lunch and had a great experience, so we decided to try it out again, but this time for an early weekday breakfast for a party of six. I'm delighted to report that the experience was just as good. The food here is always prepared extremely well, the service attentive and cordial, and the ambience pleasant but not too upscale. Overall, I highly recommend this place for any meal as I've now had two in a row that were equally superb."

  • "We took a chicken pot pie, which was delicious!! The cookie plate was a bit disappointing compared to the chocolate pot-de-creme, but they were both very good! The service was good but a bit too pressing. Overall, it's a good place, and I would love to come back try the brunch!"

  • "They didn't read my opentable request in which I asked for a nice table for this special birthday dinner. The restaurant was nearly empty but they gave my group a booth table with no extra space and no view of the park. Service was very slow. Took 10 minutes to get water and the bread basket came after the food was delivered. Finally, someone mentioned it was a birthday when the check came, and the waiter said we should have mentioned it sooner... but I had put it in the opentable special requests. The food was great, but sometimes that's not enough."

  • "Overrated. Food was basic and not well-executed. I ordered an omelette that was not at all seasoned, tomatoes and jalapeños were not cooked. Rest of our orders were mediocre. Ambiance is noisy and no air conditioning!?!? I fear this is a tourist trap, don't understand all the hype."

  • "Even making a reservation a week ahead we still waited 15min which wasnt so bad until we see our table . I had a party of 3 yet they tried to cram us onto a two person tiny table! Ridiculous! Other parties who didnt even make a.reservation and only waited 30min had better tables . We complained and got moved to a slightly bigger table. Ontop of that because of it being overcrowded it was a noisy lunch. And the food pancakes/french toast was good but nothing special i think. Our server was nice and friendly though."

  • "Sarabeth's used to be my favourite brunch spot in NY. Now it is a bit of a machine, cold and unfriendly. A little too crowded, a bit rushed, reservation (if made) do not seem to mean a whole lot and you just fall into the same queue as walk-ins. The food quality has also dropped a bit, cold (and extremely small) latte, lukewarm and somewhat tasteless eggs. Chicken sausage and jam still excellent. We actually were seated in what is effectively a hallway with no air. Come on Sarabeth's, you can stop squeezing in tables in places they should not be in order to multiply revenues. Bring back the old Sarabeth's."

  • "We had dinner there on Saturday evening, August 2nd. First of all, we ordered an appetizer, salads and entrees. The appetizer came out the same time as our salads - strange? Secondly, my husband ordered the fresh pasta with shrimp. It was so spicy, he could not eat it."

  • "We ate at Sarabeth's in the evening. Not the famous brunch. The service was friendly, which is itself notable in New York. Not obsequious or fawning, but genuine and friendly. The environment is casual enough that we didn't feel out-of-place dressed to walk in hot July weather. The food was outstanding. I had the lemon sole. It was as good as I've had anywhere, at any price. My teenage son had the chicken caesar salad, and it was not only excellent and fresh, but had more chicken than he could finish. As it was my wife's birthday, we shared a delicious fudge cake."

  • "The food was served in about 12 minutes after being seated. The menu says no substitutions during brunch so all food is just preprepared and picked up. It just didn't taste freshly prepared. The air conditioning was not working adequately the day we were there. It was quite warm inside."

If Sarabeth's has one downfall, it is perhaps that it only opened at 8 a.m., although saying that, the staff were accommodating and allowed people that were early to sit down inside before being seated at their tables."

  • "They tried their best but I guess in NYC - the world class cuisine capital of the the world (or at least the US) - I expected way more. Ordered filet & burgers medium rare and both were over-cooked and frankly flavorless. The server and manager agreed to redo the filet which came out more rare the next time but equally as un-tasty (I just delt with my overcooked 'trio of burgers' by shoving down one & calling it a day) The service was good but it just wasn't great food unfortunately. Another pet peeve is no ADA access visible - steps up, steps down. Maybe that's NYC. In California, ADA is in place everywhere but more often than not, NYC establishments are not. So, pricey and mediocre but convenient to several hotels & Central Park."

  • "Every time I come to New York, I have lunch or brunch at this restaurant. Although their other food us good , the tomato soup is exceptional. I took my husband today for the first Time. He said it was too good to just be called something as mundane as tomato soup. Great waffles and French toast. The staff is friendly and efficient . Make reservations."

  • "I have not been overly impressed with Sarabeth's other locations but I picked Sarabeth's because it was across from Central Park and out-of-town friend wanted to go to the park. I had an 11:45AM reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes. I ordered vegetable/cheese omelet that was tasteless. Pumpkin muffins and croissants were no longer available. My friend ordered a fruit plate that I thought was below par. It had strawberries, grapefruit and a lot of bananas. Not a high end selection. The coffee was brought to the table already poured in the cup, so it wasnt very hot. I think this restaurant "chain" is overrated!"
