Diner Reviews
  • "Sarabeth's is brunch favorite they have excellent baked goods, and some of the best benedicts in the city. I have been here many times, and it is always good. This visit my eggs were a little overcooked and because of this it seemed like I needed more holladaise. The salad was excellent and so was the muffin."

  • "Reservations recommended. One of the very nice features is that Sara Beth accepts reservations and then follows through on then when you arrive. I hosted breakfast 4 friends from out-of-town. My guests were 2 adults and their 2 school-aged children. We had a Wonderful Time. I frequent SB w/guests for bkfst, lunch, and dinner and they never disappoint. Menu was great for children & adults and service was attentive."

  • "The breakfast was amazing. I would like to go back to try their lunch. Service was quick & the restaurant was much bigger than I thought, which was great for our party of eight."

  • "Chicken entree was very tasty, gnudi was delish (but cold) and scallops were also yummy. Waitress was very scripted but friendly. Decor is very tired and back room was smoky (exhaust system?)"

  • "Goldie lox was okay but no pumpkin muffin and banana muffin not great. Neither were really hot. Companions coconut waffles were good but bacon was overcooked & dripping (literally) in grease. Neither of these were particularly warm/hot either. Service was okay - nothing special about the experience."

  • "Vi bestilte bord for å spise frokost. Lite trivelig lokale. Følte oss ikke "hjemme". Maten var ikke ikke særlig god. For frokost og drikke til to voksne og to barn betalte vi ca 100 dollar. Det var det ikke verdt!"

  • "We found Sarabeths to be just so-so. I don't understand what all of the hype is about. The lunch selection was good, the food itself was plentiful but not much flavor. Food service was quick, but server had an attitude. Had to ask three times to have ice tea refilled and twice for the check, requested a different dressing on seafood salad and waiter wouldn't substitute, so changed order to the lobster roll. The club sandwich was huge, but fell apart all over my husband. Trendy, but Not a NYC favorite of mine."

  • "The breakfast was fine but not more than that. The orange juice was not squeezed and we paid it 8 dollars. I went to the one in Central Park and I ve been disappointed as it look very old."

  • "This is our go-to place after a nice stroll around Central Park. Food is consistent, especially the breakfast items. We love the pancakes, French toasts, eggs and bacon -- all cooked to perfection. Hamburger and salads are also good choices but breakfast entrees gets two thumbs up. Been coming here for years with friends and family. However, the last time we dined...... we did not have good service. Three of us had hamburgers, politely asking for mayo and mustard at least three times. It was 15 minutes before the condiments arrived with bad attitude.... but because the hamburger sat there getting cold we didn't eat it. We lost appetite waiting. The breakfast plates were great! Beautifully executed and yummy!"

  • "Good food and menu selections. Always look forward to going when we are in NYC"

  • "I made reservations weeks prior to coming to NYC (recommended), when we arrived we were not overly hungry. I had been once before and enjoyed our meal. I knew my husband would love the food. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary that was exquisitely topped with veggies and I had a Bellini to start (all great meals deserve a well made drink). We shared the crab cake sandwich served on homemade bread and mixed greens. The meal was perfect! There are so many great options for those who are ready for some yummy sweets, a hearty meal or like us a lighter fare that is made to perfection! Enjoy!"

  • "First time dining at Sarabeth's CPS. Having just arrived in NYC, we were still getting our bearings in the city and ended up walking on 59th between 2nd and 3rd Ave.. Actually between 5th & 6thAve.. Whoo hoo! we eventually made it and got to work up an appetite and were pleasantly surprised.. Omlets and Eggs benedict were outstanding.. Best I've ever had..! We ended up coming back for lunch a few days later it was so good.. Definitely add this to your list if you are visiiting and in the area.."

  • "Dining at Sarabeths is always a nice experience for me so far. The food is delicious and filling. I chose to fine by myself and they graciously placed me at a table next to the window so I'd have some entertainment!"

  • "Good was very good. It be a bit pricey but you are paying for the name and quality ingredients. Worth a try while in NYC"

  • "The waitstaff were friendly and professional. There were plenty of breakfast items to choose from and our food was delicious. My husband had strawberry pancakes and I had a coconut waffle with mango preserves. The only downside was price. Our ticket with tax and tip was $70--for what boiled down to pancakes and a waffle. If you want a splurge however, this is a fantastic place!"

  • "Table by window & chance for brother-in-law former New Yorker storm trapped & self with plans to meet & dine elegantly by Central Park. From fresh grapefruit juice, cappuccinos & large delicate croissants & perfect Egg Benedit's in perfect setting! 8 AM reservation was needed for the window view & within the hour the restaurant was filled! Great experience!"

  • "Delicious food! Lively hot spot in a great location. We had tickets at City Center and were looking for a "special place" for a pre-theater meal. Sarabeth's was perfect."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "Lines outside and in the lobby belie the average dining experience. While food and service are decent enough, one gets the feeling both are being mechanically churned out. There is nothing unique and personable about the experience. Price for a stack of pancakes is $18.50; tab for 4 with tip was more than $120. Would rather brave the wait at Clinton Street Bakery downtown or the local diner."

  • "This was the perfect restaurant for someone looking to experience local cuisine as a 'local' - beautiful NY food without the usually ghastly tourist traps of poor food and indifferent service. Sarabeth's food was fresh and delicious and the service efficient and friendly - a great introduction to NY food."

  • "If you're looking for the perfect restaurant choice before hitting up an evening Broadway show, this is the place! Their pre-fixe dinner menu was the perfect size, and delicious! A real gem find in a heavily tourist area."

  • "In Brazil, we usually do not eat pancakes in breakfast. But, I'd come back to Sarabeth just to eat these pancakes again. It was awesome! The four fruits' juice was also great. Everything was really fresh and tasty. The service was not that good, but was not that bad. It was a delicious breakfast."

  • "I knew Sarabeth's has amazing food since I've eaten there before that's why I've decided to take my in-laws there when they were visiting NyC. I made the reservation 2 days prior for 10.30am. When we got there we were told my reservation is not till 10.45. After we waited we were told that they don't have any tables available. When I pointed out that we made a reservation I was told that the only thing reservation is good for at this place is that it gives you a priority over walk-ins. I think it's rediculous to have such policies! It wasn't a pleasant experience for us and though the food was great I would not want to bring guests there again or go there myself"

  • "I used to love Sarabeths but now it just feels like an upscale IHOP with more of a wait time. Food is definitely good- bacon done to perfection but there are much better places in the area. This has become too touristy"

  • "We decided to have breakfast there after many people told us how delicious it was. They were right, it was delicious!!"

  • "Decided to book for brunch based on the reviews and proximity to our hotel. We were sat to our table after a couple of minutes. The restaurant was busy but they had plenty of staff working there & it looks like they are well trained at getting a fast turnaround. Myself and my husband each ordered the granola with banana & strawberry. I wouldn't say that the portion size was huge especially by American standards & the fruit was a bit scarce but it was tasty. Glad that we had also ordered eggs Benedict which came on what they describe as English muffins (they aren't) with 1/2 a plate of lettuce. We both enjoyed the dish, the eggs were nice and runny but far too much lettuce. Attentive with the coffee refill. Fairly expensive, good location."

  • "If you wake up one morning and spontaneously decide that today is a good day to go out to brunch with a friend, Sarabeth's is the place to go. Aside from being located across from Central Park, around the corner from Columbus Circle and a couple of blocks over from a great shopping avenue, Sarabeth's menu is perfectly balanced in its variety of breakfast and lunch offered. Sarabeth's is simply sophisticated. The ambiance is welcoming and relaxing, definitely a place to meet with anyone longing for a unique dining experience."

  • "My daughter and I have been wanting to dine here for some time and decided it would be a great place to meet for a birthday brunch. The food was delicious and the service very good. The French toast and omelettes were terrific and the cookies on the cookie platter worth ordering. We thought the place was great and will definitely come back."

  • "Very much enjoyed our experience here. We sat inside close to a window so had a nice outside view without all hustle and bustle. Had an early dinner which was good however I can't comment on the wine/drink list since we only had water and tea. I've received good reviews from friends about the brunch/breakfast menu so I wouldn't mind going back to try that."
