This is a great little italian place hidden in Murray Hill. Great for a low key dinner with great food. They seem pretty empty which worries me a bit but the staff is really friendly and the food very good!

We went out to meet a friend of mine. We sat outside under a covered patio, which was great for our big group (8). They arranged a high chair for my 15 month old son and I didn't feel at all nervous about the place being "too fancy" for kids. We ordered wine by the glass and had a few delicious thin crust pizzas. We also ordered a calzone and it was HUGE. Enough to share! Service was great too!

Sapori was a plesant surprise. My date and I dropped in for a quick bite before the movies. It was a nice night, so we were seated promptly in their outdoor seating area. The service was on the money. Our waiter was very friendly and accomdating to our theater time. The Margerita pizza was very good. We'll definitely visit Sapori again.

Was looking for something close to my hotel and with good previous reviews. This proved to be a great choice for local Italian. I ordered the wood-fired pizza, which was delicious. The service was great. If I were in the Murray Hill area again on my next visit, I'd return.

The food was amazing, but service was super slow. The waiter was extremely nice/apologetic for the poor service though. I'd definitely go back b/c the food was that good.

The food was good, but space is limited indoors and it's very crowded and noisy. However, in nice weather, they have a lovely outdoor garden, and I would come back then. The bread and spread with it are very good, and the pizza looks good, but we didn't have that. I had the game hen and it was tasty and potatoes were good as well. My husband's salmon was good also.

  • Sapori was an unexpected delight

Sapori was an unexpected delight for us, the food was authentic Neapolitan fare at a reasonable price while the garden was a delightful outdoor area away from the Manhattan traffic. The service staff was most attentive and genuinely pleasant. The only improvement that we would suggest are cloth napkins, Italian food doesn't work well with paper. We will definitely go back to Sapori.

I had high hopes for this place, being in a great neighborhood & having charm. The outdoor patio seating was nice and a surprise. Everything else unfortunately left much to be desired. We sat for 15 minutes before getting served any water or being seen by our waitress. The waitress came over and apologized and took our orders. The appetizer came out a half an hour after we ordered, and our main entrees came out a full hour later with no apologies or explanation. The food wasn't that great (pizza, mussels, and salad). Management asked us at the end of dinner if we could actually get up from our table and move because they were setting up a long table. We were barely finished. I will never recommend this place to anyone!

A favorite neighborhood restaurant, great patio makes outdoor dining wonderful, and Anthony the owner is so caring about his patrons. Good food and finally getting their liquor license ( no more BYOB, pity) but we are assured there will be reasonable and excellent wines on their list. Since I go once a week, I must like this place!AND I urge anyone in the area to give it a try!

  • new Italian on the block - visit!

Middle of Murray Hill, quiet street, here's a brick oven Pizza/italian comfort food that will send you straight to Italy. The name means Taste says the owner who doubled as a waiter when the service got too busy to care for us. This restaurant just opened but the guy cares so much for his customers, I'm sure it will be perfection. The food was spectacular without any ostentation- crispy brick-oven pizza loaded with (in our case) carne. Piles of perfect calamari, shrimp and zucchini strips in the fried mixed app. I had the branzino in paper (god I love the simple olive oil and savory olives, favas, tomatoes combo with a perfect flaky white fish) - husband enjoyed the salmon special. Back garden is spare, but quiet and outdoors. BYOW!

  • Anthony the owner cares so

Anthony the owner cares so much about his newly opened restaurant, and is open to any well meant suggestions . The patio is a quiet welcome oasis in the hectic city. The food is quite good, creative risottos and properly prepared pastas. The wait staff tries very hard, a bit haphazard sometimes but they are working out those kinks and what could be annoying elsewhere is downright charming here. This neighborhood gem seems like going to a friends for dinner, a fun friendly place to be BYOB at present but they will be getting their liquor license, no corkage fee so today it makes this place a steal. I've been every week since it opened and happily have brought others who agree that this is an easy casual home away from home

We were there during a downpour, so there were not many people venturing out for lunch that day. It was worth a walk in the rain. The brick oven pizza is great! Nice lunch choices with something for everyone, including vegetarians/vegans. Very personable staff. Not my usual neighborhood, but would definitely return and recommend.
