This restaurant offered 15% of the proceeds to help the San Mateo County Service League on the day of their fundraiser and Kitchen Tour. I always like to support businesses that are generous to non-profits. This was a great discovery in Burlingame. I didn't know the restaurant was even there and probably never would have found it on my own. It is a neighborhood gem ... lively, real Italian, very good food, handmade ravioli, etc. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back often. The Pasta Rustica was great and the gnocchi light and creamy. Our waiter was very attentive and anxious to help us have a good experience. The only negative... very noisy. A large party was in the back of the restaurant dining. Both delicious...the pork dish featured succulent cuts of meat, very tender, with a picante sauce; the gnocchi was flavorful with a melt-in-your mouth consistency. The sauce was not overpowering, as gorgonzola sauces can be.
I was impressed with the wine menu. Never in a local Italian denizen venue have I seen such depth in Italian wines, for example, they feature six different wines from Montepulciao D'Abruzzo. This is popular with me, but, nevertheless, we ordered a Cab, "Cabernet Sauvignon Justin (Paso Robles) 2008". Very rich and smooth.
