Santiago's Bodega2nd time-hummThis was our second time visiting Santiago's Bodega. Also 2nd reservation via Opentable. This time, a Thursday evening at 7:15 pm,we arrived on time but were not allowed to dine indoors, since only 4 tops were available inside and we were a twosome.
Anyway... We enjoyed a fresh mushroom soup, wedge lettuce salad and scallop tapas- all delicious. We had ordered an herbed flatbread that finally arrived after the scallops, in fact getting 2 servings, which were useless to us in a hotel room to re-use later.
Bottom line, they still have wonderful food! We just got a semi-cool feel from the experience. Give them a chance-the food IS wonderful!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTapasWe are from england and can say the best ever in all the places we have visited, food came out gradually which made it better as it stayed warm. Well done xx and would recommend to friends if they come over to key west hope to see you on our next visit,6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great dinner as expected!!It was our 3rd or 4th time dinning here. They seem to keep topping themselves with their amazing variety of tapas. One of the best dishes I've ever had was the last one brought to the table...the cherry-hoisin glaze beef short ribs with orange-miso slaw. They were like meat candy. I won't bore you with a shopping list of all we had for dinner. It was a great experience and we will be back everytime we are in Key West.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great MealWe go to Key West at least twice a year and we never miss going to this restaurant. If you're a fan of small plates go here.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal of our tripCame with eight people and enjoyed sampling many of the delicious hot and cold tapas. Notable were the yellowfin ceviche and the filet with blue cheese. The meatballs were a disappointment. Great wine list too. Stick to the Spanish wines for the best values6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Delicious FindIt was our first visit to Santiago's and we were very impressed with the food. It was a bit crowded and noisy, but we will return again.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA main reason to go to Key West!Terrific restaurant! Great variety of hot and cold tapas and fresh ingredients-produce, meats/seafood, and tasty sauces. The prices are not bad for the type and quality of food and the restaurant is a hidden gem in a side street three blocks from Duval Street.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat appetizer portion menuGreat appetizer portion menu items. Mozzarella was fantastic.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMoms night outWe had a girls night out & this was a perfect place for us to go. The white sangria was refreshing & the scallop special was excellent! I will definitely go back, maybe next time I will bring my husband ; )5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome tapas!!This was our first dinner on vacation and what a treat!! The portion sizes for the price were just right, and they were sized so that you could order multiple and not feel miserably full at the end. Salads are large though! We had the chicken skewers, patatas bravas and beef tenderloin-all AMAZING!! For dessert we had the flour-less chocolate cake-again, mouthwatering. We really wanted to go back again before we left but decided we wanted to keep trying new things-this will be our first stop again on our next trip back!!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had visited here aboutWe had visited here about 4 years back and we weren't all that impressed. It was late and they were out of many things and nothing was memorable. We decided to give it another shot because of how much every one loves it and boy are we glad we did. The food was amazing! The bread pudding dessert to die for. The service was great. Everyone was very attentive to our needs. It was great to have a variety of foods to try. The table was a bit small and the noise level was wavering on a bit obnoxious but that would not deter us from going back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic tapasFine selection of small plates unusual combinations of meats and seafood. The potatoes and empenadas were delicious. Fine and friendly service . Out of the way but worth the walk.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gem!By far our favorite restaurant in Key West! We have been going here for a couple year now. I would definitely recommend making reservations as the place is small and is becoming very popular. Great for couples or smaller groups. Food is incredible and great sangria! Ambiance is one of a kind!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA little gemWow what a great find. Not in a spectacular section of Key West, but you quickly forget that once inside. We greeted promptly and taken into the hands of the staff flawlessly. I highly recommend this experience for those on the island as its quite possibly one of the best I've had to date.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMTastes with much to talk about! My favorite spot for dinner in kw....brought another couple this time and as usual the endless courses of perfection gave our tastebuds a treat and our brains a challenge as we were trying to figure out "what could that be...coriander, thyme, celery salt...all 3!!?? The tapas creations are so delictable and the staff is friendly, unique, and all part of the wonderful experience. Ambience is ideal for however you prefer to dine. I've eaten solo and been closer to the action inside, with my wife in a private interior corner, and with other couples on the porch in a casual vibe with the breezy key west wind swaying the foliage...all AWESOME5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best place to eat in keyThe best place to eat in key west. The food is eclectic and delicious. Short walk from duval street. Perfectly priced. I can't think of anything I'd change.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in Key WestWe ate here twice during our vacation. Wonderful tapas and happy hour food and drinks
Everyone should try this gem.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMReliably good, if noisySantiago's can be relied on for good, original small plates and fresh salads. We enjoyed the avocado and pear salad, followed by the "Trio", three hummus and tapenade specials to spread on pitas and a shrimp and chorizo combination. We are local, but Santiago's seems to attract many tourists. We find it noisy, but after a while you get used to it.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant away from DuvalA nice little place, with white linen tablecloths and great food and wine.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly RecommendedWe were on vacation and this restaurant was highly recommended to us and we can see why. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Waitress was happy to explain menu to us and was very friendly.Hig5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Key West food landscapeThe Key West food landscape is changing, and this is a giant leap. If you are tired of the gimmicky tourist traps for food this is your place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEat well at Santiago'sWe had a wonderful tapas evening and every course was outstanding, what a great menu and the server made suggestions that were very compatible. An all-time favorite.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!Food is exceptional! Great choices and delicious sangria! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Can't wait to go back next year again when we are in Key West for vacation! Loved it!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome restaurant!!The food was excellent!! We tried 5 different small dishes!! Each one got better! It was delicious! The beef tenderloin and short ribs were great!! We celebrated our 30th anniversary here!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFreat catch in Key WestA local gem I heard from many people visiting in town and am I stopped by. Great food and service!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMKey West FavoriteWe dine at Santiago's Bodega quite frequently. The food is always amazing and nightly specials make for an affordable evening out. Alan and the rest of the staff are incredible. There are a lot of nice restuarants in Key West, but none like nor as good as the Bodega!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in Key West! The tapas were superb. Stuffed dates wrapped in prosciutto were fabulous as were the beef tenderloin, the brussels sprouts, and everything else we tried. The only downer was the rack of lamb (delicious)----a couple of pieces of which were too fatty. The service was excellent and if you don't want a lot of noise, eat in the first room you enter when you walk into the restaurant. It's smaller and was much quieter than their main dining room. Thanks for a delightful eating experience. It was our best meal in Key West.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievable foodTook my wife here for our anniversary and it was great! Everything was fantastic. Our server was fantastic, the red and white sangria were great. Every tapa we had was super. One of the chef's specials, scallops with a goat cheese spread, were out of this world. The beef tenderloin was great as well. You should know there is a blue cheese topping on the tenderloin but that too was remarkable. The beef short ribs were also great. Service was very prompt, greeters did not have us waiting for even 2 minutes. Our glasses were never empty and the waiter seemed genuinely interested in how we heard of the restaurant and the reason for the visit. We did not eat desert here but I wouldn't be shocked if it also was great! This place is a must visit!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as usualAs a local Key Wester, Santiago's is at the top of our list of places for a great dinner, a special occasion, or a spot to take out-of-town guests when they visit us. This was a repeat visit for our guest, and though she was only visiting for 4 days, we had such a great time and the food was so good (as always) that we actually considered going back again before she left. ALWAYS on our order list are the the pear & avocado salad, stuffed dates, saganaki (better than at a Greek restaurant in a town full of Greek restaurants), and beef tenderloin; and then from there we've tried just about everything else on the menu without disappointment. If you can manage, save room for the bread pudding dessert. It's among the best I've ever had.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe special was diver scallopsThe special was diver scallops with spinach and cream sauce -it hit the mark! Excellent job Tolieb! Also, enjoyed the new additions to the menu. Get the Albarino! (thanks Brook!)5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNicely done tapasThere are many good points to Santiago's - the plates were perfectly sized, and many were interesting in texture and flavor. The encrusted lamb chops were particularly tasty. A few dishes were not seasoned well - like the grouper. The wines by the glass were well-matched with the food. It was fun, and we'd go back.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWowAmazing, amazing, amazing!
Decided to try this restaurant because of the reviews from trip advisor. So glad we did. It was a little tricky to find and actually drove right past the first time. It was worth the search. It's a Tapas style restaurant and my partner and I shared 5 plates which was more than enough. We highly recommend the pear and avocado salad, the scallop and chorizo kebabs and the pitta bread with houmous. The flavours were fantastic and rated AAA in our opinion.
It's a nice atmosphere, a little busy but when you taste the food you can see why they're so busy.
Highly recommended. We are on a vacation from the UK but if we are ever back in Key West (or Orlando) in the future, we will definitely go back to Santiago Bodega.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in Key West!Off the beaten path and a menu that you can't find anywhere else on the island.
My husband and I enjoy tapas-style dining and trying a little bit of everything. By the end of the evening we wanted to order the entire menu! Each dish was delicious, cooked well and inventive flavors.
Not your typical tropical fare. This was a great find!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways FantasticEvery time I dine at Santiago's Bodega it is fabulous! The menu is full of favorites and we always have an opportunity to try something new. Don't miss the Saganaki!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptious platesDon't let the small plates fool you. Lots of choices and all were terrific. I liked the sharing and the option of sampling a number of tastes.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of eight thatWe had a party of eight that had a great evening. The food offers something for everyone and the staff is engaging and accomodating. The wine list is nice, the Sangria delicious and there is beer if you do not do wine/sangira. No hard liquor sets the tone, emphasis on food, friends & family. Definately recommend for a great meal that is a short walk after dinner to the nightlife of Duval Street.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA vacation must!We have been going to Santiago's for the last 4 or 5 years during our yearly trip to Key West! The food, service, and Sangria are always consistent and great! Reservations are highly recommended and we have made one each time we have gone because this restaurant is unique and very busy! The restaurant is on the small/intimate side, so if there is a large, noisy party it can be loud...but the food is great!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server, Chris, was veryOur server, Chris, was very quick and friendly.
