Santiago's BodegaFreat catch in Key WestA local gem I heard from many people visiting in town and am I stopped by. Great food and service!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in Key West! The tapas were superb. Stuffed dates wrapped in prosciutto were fabulous as were the beef tenderloin, the brussels sprouts, and everything else we tried. The only downer was the rack of lamb (delicious)----a couple of pieces of which were too fatty. The service was excellent and if you don't want a lot of noise, eat in the first room you enter when you walk into the restaurant. It's smaller and was much quieter than their main dining room. Thanks for a delightful eating experience. It was our best meal in Key West.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievable foodTook my wife here for our anniversary and it was great! Everything was fantastic. Our server was fantastic, the red and white sangria were great. Every tapa we had was super. One of the chef's specials, scallops with a goat cheese spread, were out of this world. The beef tenderloin was great as well. You should know there is a blue cheese topping on the tenderloin but that too was remarkable. The beef short ribs were also great. Service was very prompt, greeters did not have us waiting for even 2 minutes. Our glasses were never empty and the waiter seemed genuinely interested in how we heard of the restaurant and the reason for the visit. We did not eat desert here but I wouldn't be shocked if it also was great! This place is a must visit!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as usualAs a local Key Wester, Santiago's is at the top of our list of places for a great dinner, a special occasion, or a spot to take out-of-town guests when they visit us. This was a repeat visit for our guest, and though she was only visiting for 4 days, we had such a great time and the food was so good (as always) that we actually considered going back again before she left. ALWAYS on our order list are the the pear & avocado salad, stuffed dates, saganaki (better than at a Greek restaurant in a town full of Greek restaurants), and beef tenderloin; and then from there we've tried just about everything else on the menu without disappointment. If you can manage, save room for the bread pudding dessert. It's among the best I've ever had.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe special was diver scallopsThe special was diver scallops with spinach and cream sauce -it hit the mark! Excellent job Tolieb! Also, enjoyed the new additions to the menu. Get the Albarino! (thanks Brook!)5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNicely done tapasThere are many good points to Santiago's - the plates were perfectly sized, and many were interesting in texture and flavor. The encrusted lamb chops were particularly tasty. A few dishes were not seasoned well - like the grouper. The wines by the glass were well-matched with the food. It was fun, and we'd go back.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWowAmazing, amazing, amazing!
Decided to try this restaurant because of the reviews from trip advisor. So glad we did. It was a little tricky to find and actually drove right past the first time. It was worth the search. It's a Tapas style restaurant and my partner and I shared 5 plates which was more than enough. We highly recommend the pear and avocado salad, the scallop and chorizo kebabs and the pitta bread with houmous. The flavours were fantastic and rated AAA in our opinion.
It's a nice atmosphere, a little busy but when you taste the food you can see why they're so busy.
Highly recommended. We are on a vacation from the UK but if we are ever back in Key West (or Orlando) in the future, we will definitely go back to Santiago Bodega.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in Key West!Off the beaten path and a menu that you can't find anywhere else on the island.
My husband and I enjoy tapas-style dining and trying a little bit of everything. By the end of the evening we wanted to order the entire menu! Each dish was delicious, cooked well and inventive flavors.
Not your typical tropical fare. This was a great find!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptious platesDon't let the small plates fool you. Lots of choices and all were terrific. I liked the sharing and the option of sampling a number of tastes.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of eight thatWe had a party of eight that had a great evening. The food offers something for everyone and the staff is engaging and accomodating. The wine list is nice, the Sangria delicious and there is beer if you do not do wine/sangira. No hard liquor sets the tone, emphasis on food, friends & family. Definately recommend for a great meal that is a short walk after dinner to the nightlife of Duval Street.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA vacation must!We have been going to Santiago's for the last 4 or 5 years during our yearly trip to Key West! The food, service, and Sangria are always consistent and great! Reservations are highly recommended and we have made one each time we have gone because this restaurant is unique and very busy! The restaurant is on the small/intimate side, so if there is a large, noisy party it can be loud...but the food is great!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server, Chris, was veryOur server, Chris, was very quick and friendly. He made great suggestions about the plates we should try, and he was right about them being delicious.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was really good. GreatIt was really good. Great service. Great food, great variety, great service (Chris), great wine list.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time drinkingHad a great time drinking sparkling white sangria and trying various tapas. Flaming cheese was visually appealing and tasty. The neighborhood seems iffy and when you think you are lost, you find it!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Fantastic meal @ Santiago'sAnother Fantastic meal @ Santiago's best in Key West.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI would recommend this toI would recommend this to anyone visiting key west. Overall, a great experience.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceWe've been going to Santiago's since they first opened. The tapas are excellent as is the service. It's a bit loud from the energy of the diners. I'd recommend it. There is something for everyone.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! You need anotherAwesome! You need another location in Fort Smith, Arkansas4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMake a reservation. It's alwaysMake a reservation. It's always busy. If you enjoy lots of energy and sharing excellent small plates you will love this place. Went with the server's suggestion from the cold tapas list of mozzarella with pesto and a balsamic reduction sauce that was outstanding!!!!!!!!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI work as a concierge in KeyI work as a concierge in Key West and when asked what is my favorite restaurant I always say "Santiagos". Always consistent and great food.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHit the Spot! The food was delicious, delivered good portions (tapas style) and the service was very friendly. We were a party of 4 and shared one full size salad and 6 different tapas. We thought it was just the right amount of food for the evening. I didn't sample the dessert, but it looked delicious as well. I really liked the location - it was off the main drag of Duvall Street so you wouldn't necessarily know about it unless you did your homework and looked for the more "non-touristy" places. There was a very large party next to us that was very loud so it made it a little hard to talk among ourselves without "yelling", but overall, it was a very memorable place and I would definitely go back! Tip: Make a reservation.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMHeard this was the place toHeard this was the place to go from several people. It did not disappoint. We ordered the pear/abaca do salad, mushrooms wrapped in bacon, crabcakes, sangria and the cheese plate. Everything was great and they brought the servings out perfectly-not all at once an not much time between each. Definitely try this place and make sure you get the Sangria!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReally fun place with awesomeReally fun place with awesome food and a great vibe. Our group of five loved everything we ordered except the Brussels sprouts, and that's only because one of our favorite restaurants back home makes a version that's impossible to top. Our waiter, Alan, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, even offering us tips for other places to try in Key West. He also was quite skilled at refilling our sangria glasses without us noticing! The only drawback we experienced was the noise level. The table next to us was so loud we couldn't carry on our own conversation.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived without a reservation,We arrived without a reservation, but were promised that we wo uld get a table. Were able to be seated in about 30 minutes; still working on our drinks. All employees were fantastic; great at their jobs and attentive. All our meals were excellent. They wine list is very comprehensive for a basically an outdoor under the trees Key West dining place. And there is live music as well, although sitting to the far right of the stage we didn't hear much. At least that allowed conversation. Two thumbs up from us!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBEST IN KEY WESTSantiago's Bodega has to be the best restaurant in Key West. That is really saying something, Key West although a tiny Island that has its share of overrated tourist places is an island of great restaurants. It is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Key West and in my top 5 of anywhere in the world I have eaten. Among those 5 it is impossible to establish a hierarchy. General Manager Steve Trieu and every staff member are consummate hosts that provide a delicious gourmet menu supplemented by wonderful specials that change daily. In a word FANTASTIC.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe tried many different dishesWe tried many different dishes and all were absolutely outstanding. We will definitely go back before our vacation is over!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this place in Key WestGreat dining experience! Our waiter Alan was very knowledgable about all menu items and offered up great suggestions. The entire staff are non-assuming and efficient making Santiago's one of our fav go-to spots in Key West.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great.Best inKey West.AteAlways great.Best inKey West.Ate there twice last week and I live there.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommended by our fishingRecommended by our fishing charter captain. Great place!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA real findThe food and service here are fantastic. We discovered it one night in Key West and returned later that week. Both dinners were outstanding. You will not miss if you make a visit here.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is a mustThis restaurant is a must when visiting Key West! We sat outside on high stool chairs and our waitress was a delightful, young woman. The staff was friendly and worked as a team. The food was different and so delicious. My husband had never had tapas before and he enjoyed each plate as it was served. It was a wonderful meal and great fun! The salads are large, the dates, the bacon wrapped mushrooms, roman meatballs and ribs were top rate.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to KW dozens ofI have been to KW dozens of times. I can't believe I just found this place. Eat there twice in two days. Don't miss it. Also don't be fooled by outside appearance. Inside is well done and bar is beautifull and fits the theme.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant in Key WestIf you are looking for a restaurant that has great food and off the beaten path then this is an absolute must!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always stop at Santiago'sWe always stop at Santiago's whenever we are in Key West! A Great Place.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience, all coursesGreat experience, all courses were well prepared . Away from the crowds on Duval street, best restaurant we found in Key West.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time here,This was our second time here, we came last year when we were in Key West for vacation. It was even better than we remembered... the food is OUTSTANDING! The location is absolutely lovely, inside and out. Friendly staff, great service. We will be back again and again!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth the trip!Santiagos was a special find during our trip to Key West! The food, all tapas style small portions was just great. We had yellow tail ceviche, green beans vinaigrette, hoisin short ribs - all wonderful! The bread pudding dessert was also really tasty.
Service was friendly and attentive, although things got a little jumbled as the restaurant got busier.
Can't wait to go back!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding tapas plates servedOutstanding tapas plates served as they become ready. Order a couple plates per person and share. You can always order more if needed. They don't necessarily come out in order - appetizer, entree, etc. but that is part of the fun. Reservations a necessity during high season. Limited outdoor seating, small bar. Highly recommended. Off the beaten track of the busy, loud and touristy Duval St. but walking distance back to party after dinner - or head over to Better Than Sex dessert restaurant afterward - also walking distance.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest tapas in Key WestMy fiancee and I enjoy tapas and found Santiago's Bodega a fine choice in Key West. Easy reservations (Open Table; but take telephone reservations) and needed as they fill up quickly. They have 'happy hour' specials - 1/2 off wine and beer, a nice selection of appetizers - and during this time are generally not crowded, but the appetizer selection shrinks with popularity. For the tapas menu all we can say is 'try them.' All of our selections were well prepared and very tasty. The bartender is great, very knowledgeable and eating at the bar is as good a dining experience as the table locations. Overall a very nice place for good food, a nice selection of beer and wine (good Alberino), and a nice couple's dinner. Recommend!3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is another great neighborhoodThis is another great neighborhood restaurant. Parking can be tough, so walk or take a cab. GREAT tapas, wonderful service ... everything we had was great. We had hot and cold tapas and they were all exquisite. Don't miss this place.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tapasExcellent tapas style restaurant with lots of great items to choose from. The place is hopping at all hours of the night and the service is very quick and efficient. Not a place to go and hang out, though, as the food comes very quickly and they keep you moving along. Still, perfect place to go for a delicious dinner, especially if you are going out somewhere else afterwards.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFUNSmall plates are very good. Mushroom soup was great. Fun place to eat. We were on the porch & the roosters kept us company. Recommend2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a delightful find inWhat a delightful find in Key West. The patio was a gardenlike setting with roosters and chicks (the fowl kind) wandering around. We were grazing and our visit was during Happy Hour. The wine deals were 1/2 off glasses and $10 off of bottles. There was a nice menu of Happy Hour Tapas at $5 each. Santiago's is a couple of blocks off the Duval St. strip.2/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful late lunchMy fiancee and I stopped here for a late lunch before leaving KW, and are very happy we did. The green beans and yellowfin ceviche were a nice start. The shrimp and chorizo skewers were great, and the roasted Brussels sprouts were incredible! We ended with the short ribs, which were good but were overshadowed by the sprouts and the skewers. The sangria was good -- not nearly as sweet as what we're used to, so it was very refreshing. The best overall meal we had in Key West.2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMInnovative TapasThis place serves creative and innovative tapas as well as several that are familiar from standard Spanish tapas menus. The tapas were very good, although quality varied from mediocre to outstanding. The bruschetta was excellent, the patatas bravas were very good (and very spicy), and the Brussels sprouts were as good as they get. However, the tuna ceviche came in large unwieldy chunks, and the flaming saganaki was a total flop, overwhelmed by far too much brandy (another customer's saganaki set off the smoke alarm). Service was friendly, attentive and prompt. There were a couple of good wines by the glass. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and is a very comfortable place.1/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
