Diner Reviews
  • "Just when you thought that you have seen everything, there comes a little neighborhood restaurant called Santiago's Bodega. I found my experience there to be quite comfortable, the food was excellent and I would definitely recommend this place to others. Living in Fort Lauderdale, I have many choices of food to choose from. I had a reservation for 4 set at 7 p.m. On Friday night August 8th. It was a perfect place to celebrate my belated birthday which was August 6th. Although it was recommended by friends living in Fort Lauderdale, I knew that the person meant business when he made this recommendation. The entire staff was great. When I returned to my hotel, I told everyone that I have met there about my experience. A job well done."

  • "This turned out to brine of favorite dinning experiences in Key West. A wonderful, away from the craziness of Duval, place with outstanding food, attentive staff and a nice sangria. Recommend giving it a try."

  • "It was great evening with exceptional food choices! Places like this are hard to find in Key West. We live near the Orlando area and plan to visit the one there. I love when we have good food, good service in a nice atmosphere....and clean!"

  • "Server Ivan was dead on with his recommendations. Lamb lollipops were best I may have ever had. Bravo to chef and super bravo to knowledge of staff."

  • "The food and service were amazing! We had the hummus trio, beef tacos, and croquetas. I'll definitely return to this restaurant during my next trip to The Keys."

  • "We fell IN LOVE with this place, last year (2013) after many friends recommended it to us. It is an amazing restaurant for Large Parties (10 or more) because of the Tapas menu, but if you have a party of 2-4, you will LOVE IT EVEN better!! The service is remarkably excellent! The staff are great; friendly, courteous, and right there when you need them..."

  • "despite quite a crowd waiting at the door our table for four in the corner was ready and waiting even though we were a few minutes late. service began with attentiveness and speed that lasted throughout the evening as we added to our menu and libations. The menu is loaded with delectable small plates and we thought perhaps we had over ordered but ended up downing every morsel. Each dish carried its own special presentation and aroma fresh from the kitchen which despite the large number of diners seems to magically get the order out quickly. We shared a dessert and left very contented with our evening. We even found easy parking on Petronia one block up the street from this cheery oasis. We'll be back soon."

  • "Tapas menu - very good but not great compared to other we've eaten at in other cities. Service was friendly, prompt and responsive. Location - not much to speak of. Very busy due to mentions on several websites - reservations imperative. Outdoor seating a bit warm and noisy as they do try to cool it off with fans. Inside may be better but may need to be requested in reservation - We did not know. Wine list Ok but like many restaurants all are "new wines" - no cellar aging. Tapas dishes are US sized not European - we found 2 each to be about right."

  • "Casual atmosphere with great food and service. Very reasonable "happy hour" prices and appetizers. Sangria not as potent as advertised perhaps due to excessive ice. Definitely worth a visit and don't miss the crab cakes."

  • "Again, Santiago's was great. 4th time dining there and will again. Santiago's Bodega is a "must do" recommendation that we've told so many about every time we stay in Key West (6 times now). I am very appreciative. Thank you for always being accommodating with requested seating. Cliff"

  • "Santiago's Bodega is our special place we visit with our best friends and always the last night in KW. The food is exceptionally good as far as tapas goes, and the service is always great but not too intrusive. A must for everyone who understands KW is NOT all about Duval."

  • "Every bite is a party in your mouth. Delicious and generous portions."

  • "A friend from New Orleans recommended the bodega to us. We each ordered a sangria, one white and one red. The red tasted like concord grape juice, but the white was refreshing and tasty. We ordered 5 plates. Our cold plates were the cheese plate and the yellowfin tuna ceviche. The cheese plate was delicious, but the tuna was only okay. We would not order again. For hot plates we ordered the dates, half rack of lamb, and the patatas bravas. The dates were super yummy and the patatas were nice. We were not expecting the lamb to be deep fried and so over done. It was not horrible, but again we would not order again. Overall, we would recommend this place, but suggest that you follow any recommendations that your server makes."

  • "We went there on our first night in Key West for an excellent outdoor dinner. The out door section is small but is sort of a street facing garden, very quant. The service was perfect with the waiter, hostes and sometimes the chef bring our food. We like the Tapas concept and enjoyed each choice. Notably their spicy lentil soup was spactatular. And my wife had the stuffed dates and loved them."

Our favorites were the Avacado and pear salad, saganaki cheese with pita, lamp chops, green beans, croquettes, chocolate cake and custard! Thank you for a great dining experience! We will be back!"

  • "Had great evening with sisters. Small plates were perfect. We all ordered and shared what we liked. Sangria was terrific too! No time pressure. Enjoyed by all of us. It is actually our 4th time there and since we come from different parts of the country it is a favorite must visit place for us in Key West."

  • "Must remember where we are. The Keys are not a big city, big culinary destination. Food was good, portions large for a tapas restaurant. The ingredients used were basic and not very complex. Some of the ingredients were overwhelming, ie balsamic vinegar in Brussels sprouts, tons of olives on the bruschetta. Overall good, but nothing spectacular. Service though was poor. Our waiter neglected to mention any of the specials or change out our dirty plates, while doing so for the table next to us. Otherwise, all the servers were attentive."

  • "Santiago's bodega was the best dinning experience of the trip, so good we had to go twice In 4 days! Food was amazing. If you haven't had the beef tenderloin you haven't tasted heaven. Our server Allen provided excellent service, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back next trip south."

  • "My wife and I went to Santiago's this past weekend. The food was the usual excellent but the ambience was a little shaky as there was a loud table close by!"

  • "Everything was amazing! Beef Tenderloin a must! Scallops special was amazing. Beef skewers & mini empanadas! Try & make happy hr! $5 options!"

  • "The food was absolutely delicious! We shared 7 or 8 plates. All were balanced flavor-wise and beautifully presented. Our server, however, showed no interest in truly serving us - no explanation of the menu, mis-heard us several times, and all-around disinterested. He made the whole experience uncomfortable and unenjoyable."
