A word from Santiago's Bodega
Santiago's Bodega presents a unique tasting experience featuring small plates that hopscotch between decadent (a warm Camembert wedge topped with sauteed garlic, onions, almonds, apricots, chopped dates, bell peppers), refreshing (yellow fin tuna, avocado, mango ceviche), exotic (lamb patties with fresh thyme, sherry, lemon zest) and just plain comfort-food-delicious (Roman meatballs on angel hair, or fried potatoes in a spicy sauce). As nothing costs over $15, there’s no major commitment, and if the relationship doesn't work, move along to the next selection. The menu’s ideal for sharing and for mixing up in endless combinations. Alternate between chevre tartlet, spanakopita, or smoked salmon carpaccio. Invent your own meal. Dining in such a way permits the rules of wine pairings to step aside like snooty impostors, and what goes best with dinner is exactly what tempts you. Santiago’s Bodega is a good-natured, low-key, food-lovers hangout, a neighborhood restaurant. - Margit BisztrayContinued

Diner Reviews
  • "I've eaten at the Key west location several times and have always had an excellent time. I arrived to this location and was in shock. This place was so loud that I felt like I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings during happy hour. It seems this location suffers from an identity crisis. Is it a bar? Is it a romantic night out? What is it??? The parking situation is terrible, the attendant asked for a tip as soon as he took my keys, started off bad. Had a 9pm reservation, table wasn't ready. Ordered a bottle of wine, of course they didn't have it in stock. Needless to say at this point I didn't even bother ordering food and just left. I'll continue dining at the key west location since it had a little class, but will never return to this one."

  • "My husband & I chose Santiago's for a work-week lunch (something different). Not especially crowded, but the noise level made it seem otherwise (mostly from the mix of music playing). Tapas choices were impressive (lunch menu & 2nd fuller menu). We ordered lunch-special "boards" (French & Spanish, 3 items each) to share & enjoyed both. Excellent patatas bravas from the Spanish board; the portobello puff pastry from the French board was perfect - buttery & savory in just the right mix. Portions were light enough for lunch & satisfying. Mediocre service - waitress was attentive at first but barely returned until it was check time. Bad parking esp for 2 separate cars; tiny lot w/no easy access. We'll return (w/one car!!) to try new foods"

  • "I really enjoyed the food - love the tuna ceviche, and the service was great. But, one of the waiters fancies himself as an opera singer, and sings happy birthday (or other songs) at the top of his lungs. I was dining with a client, and our dinner was ruined by this guy singing. The first celebration was at the table next to ours - I had to put my fingers in my ears the noise hurt my ear drums so bad. He repeated the celebration songs 2 more times at other tables - luckily not on top of us, but even across the restaurant he was painfully loud. So, we won't be going back. There are plenty of good places to eat in Orlando without being subjected to a crazy singing guy."

  • "Food is mediocre, parking is crazy, moisy crammed dining room."

  • "We arrived early for our reservation but was seated promptly. We were originally seated along a long wall with tables very close to each other. We asked to be moved near the front window without a problem. The table was smaller but it provided more intimacy. We have dined at the location in Key West. This was our first time to the Orlando location. Although not as quaint as the Key West location, we were happy to have a local location we could treat ourselves to. Joseph, our server, was attentive and helpful with questions about the menu. We tried the ceviche, pork tenderloin, and our favorite, the wrapped dates! All were very good. They also have a nice wine selection."

  • "I've been here for brunch before and the food was good, but the bacon was on the burnt side and not quite as good as last time...not sure that I would go again for $35/person. Mostly a good place, just wouldn't go thru all the effort to go for that again...was just so so."

  • "Can't say enough great things about this place. The service is outstanding, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is vibrant. Brunch is out of this world, but I cannot get enough of the tapas."

  • "My wife and I stopped by during the week for some tapas and cocktails. Overall, we had a great experience and will certainly be back. We tried several tapas dishes including the beef carpaccio, stuffed dates with prosciutto, garlic shrimp with chorizo, spanakopita, and the cronuts. Everything was fantastic, including the service, which was attentive but not hovering. We will certainly be back."

  • "The combination tapas plate that we ordered were quite tasty. The foods were flavored uniquely and the presentation was enticing. The waiter suggested we split a salad and have a "themed" tapas plate. It was more than enough. We very much enjoyed our outing."

  • "My wife and I read about this in a local weekly paper (Orlando Weekly). We got a reservation for two quite easily for 9pm. When we arrived early we found a seat at the bar and decided to dine there. The food was great and the service was better. I haven't stopped talking about this place. I have no affiliation with this establishment. This is the first time I even cared enough to write a review. It's worth checking out."

  • "To clarify this is not the first time I've had tapas, so I clearly understand the idea behind it & portion sizes... Everything we had was delicious and loved the ambiance. but the prices were high for what you get. Two small skewers each with 2 small shrimp & 2 small pieces of sausage for $10. The flavoring was fantastic, but the price a bit steep for a skewer that could be eaten in a few bites. Short ribs were amazing, but again 2 pieces for $10. Overall we had 5 sangrias (2 on the happy hour that the server never told us about, my brother happened to text me about it) 5 food items (1 on happy hour) & with tip it was close to $130. We are accustomed to going out to nice meals & spending that amount but the value just wasn't there."

  • "Six of us met up at Santiago's Bodega on a Saturday evening and it was a really nice and relaxing dining experience. I had made a reservation and when we all arrived our table was ready for us. We shared many great small plates and the white sangria is refreshing and not too sweet. Great atmosphere!!"

  • "We enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Santiago's. We decided to sit in the bar section and was taken to a comfortable and enormous booth with a view of this area of the resturant. The wait staff were affable and provided efficient service. We are definitely going back!"

  • "Our service was exceptional. Off to a bad start as we arrived in a rainstorm and almost immediately after seating the roof started leaking on our table. We were immediately reseated and our meal was uninterrupted. The food was superb, the carpaccio is especially delicious, as were the empanadas, the brussel sprouts and the service superior. This was my second trip to the restaurant and both times have been consistently excellent."

  • "The food at Santiago's is delicious. And it's a beautiful restaurant. The noise level is a little high for you to really be able to carry on a conversation though. And the last two times we went, they didn't have the wine we first ordered. They did recommend a similar wine and it was good. We still love this place and will go again."

  • "Tried this place out the other night. Had a very nice menu selection of salads, cold and hot tappas. We tried a variety of items, all of which were really good. The portion sizes are normal for tappas, and very flavorful. Will def be back!"

  • "We had heard of Santaigo's so we were excited to try this new place. However when we got there, there was no parking space so this put a damper on the visit. It was frustrating trying to find a spot. My hubby wanted to just go to another restaurant but since we were already there, I told him to be patient. We finally found a spot and went in. They have this great area in front of the restaurant, however, the tables are really small so it's hard to order different tapas with limited space. Once the food came out, we got in a better mood. Drinks, food and service were great. However, not sure I will go back because of how hard it is to find a spot to park in."

  • "It was my first time. Nice place, nice service, nice environment. We ask for tapas, beer and Sangria. Ceviche was good, but the chunks are too big. It is a Tuna fish ceviche and the original Ceviche is made with Sea Bass. It comes with Mango, which is different but provide a caribbean flavor. Spanish cuisine do not use Mangos. The grill shrimp with chorizo were excellent. The Sangria is awesome. I have 2 Blue Moons beer, and then when I ask for another one they told me that they have anymore. Too bad, they recommended a Shock Top Seasonal but it was very different. Parking lot small, but secure. Service was awesome, a Polish girl too care of us. Prices are little expensive. 2 Tapas, 3 Sangrias, 3 Beers $62."

  • "I don"t have a lot of experience with tapas but this was the most delicious assortment of small plates I have ever eaten. I recommend the cerviche and the hot cheese. We had 5 Happy Hour tapas and 6 regular and each was more delicious than the one before."

  • "We can't believe we just found this place. The tapas menu make it fun and the food is all really yummy. It's noisy but that's to be expected. The restaraunt is fun and group friendly. A reservation is recommended obviously. We always suggest Santiago's to anyone who will listen"

  • "The best thing to say here is the food is worth the wait. Because there will be plenty of waiting. Rarely do reservations mean anything, as your entire party must be present to get seated and even if they are all present, there is almost always a wait. Which would be OK, except . . . most of the wait staff does not know how to take care of customers once they are seated. I hope this place survives because the food is that good."

  • "Overall very good. Parking very limited. Outdoor dining best undercover to avoid summertime showers. Round tables at the front of the restaurant too small for 2 people dining for dinner. Lentil and shrimp bisque soups were good, but a tad on the salty side. The avocado pear salad was nice and large enough for 2 people but overall lacking in flavor. Beef tenderloin excellent, along with bacon wrapped stuffed mushrooms. Some of the best bread pudding with coffee rounded out our evening. Brunch was a hit!"

  • "Its out first time here and living in this area means weve already been to every restaurant at least twice. Its all Tapas portions so you can order many different things and try everything and still keep your wallet full because the cost is very efficient. Service was slow but thats typical for all restaurants in this area especially during peak time - dont go for a quick bite because youll kill at least an hour and half here no matter what. Overall good experience though."

  • "My husband and I dined at Santiago's based on a recommendation from a relative. The place is very eclectic looking with large vibrant paintings on the wall. The menu is made up of salads and hot and cold tapas. The pear and avocado salad was large and very sharable and also very delicious. We also shared the trigger fish which was a good size portion and tasted very fresh. The other tapas we had was croquettas with prosciutto and cheese which was good but couldn't quite taste the prosciutto in them. For desert we had melt in your mouth cronuts. The wine list is good and has some nicely priced wines. Overall we had a great time and will definitely return."

  • "We had dined at Santiago's about 6 weeks ago and enjoyed it, but had some reservations (namely their sangrias & the bread charge). This time we decided to go a bit earlier in the day and with some friends to share our opinions. Between the 4 of us we had 11 tapas (all of the special ones part of the happy hour specials) plus the Dates, 2 of the Half-Rack Lamb, the Spanakopita and the Shrimp & Chorizo. Difficult to say which one was Top Favorite, but the Dates and the Half-Rack of Lamb were voted the best. Regretfully the problems experienced with the sangria were this time shared by all of us: the large wine glass in which is served is filled with so MUCH ice, the taste of the sangria is affected and before one knows it loses its taste."

  • "The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very interesting and fun, and the people were nice. The only thing that would have made the experience better is if we had a different server, our server took FOREVER to bring out anything we ordered in fact it took 20 minutes to get 1 beer that a friend ordered. All the other servers seemed to be very responsive to their tables (and ours when we got desperate enough to holler at them lol). All in all I will definitely go back!"

  • "This place has great potential. Food was good, not excellent, but lots of room to improve for the better. I was confused a bit was it Spanish, Mexican or Mediterranean? The menu had no focus. Bartenders are very nice. I would return for drinks. Wait staff has zero knowledge on wine. They need to fix that asap. Give this place a year or two to improve and great things will come with proper management. "

  • "For an afternoon splurge, the Brunch is a must! However, know that you are splurging for the atmosphere, decent food and endless Mimosas/Sangrias, definitely not for the service!"
