A word from Santiago's Bodega
Santiago's Bodega presents a unique tasting experience featuring small plates that hopscotch between decadent (a warm Camembert wedge topped with sauteed garlic, onions, almonds, apricots, chopped dates, bell peppers), refreshing (yellow fin tuna, avocado, mango ceviche), exotic (lamb patties with fresh thyme, sherry, lemon zest) and just plain comfort-food-delicious (Roman meatballs on angel hair, or fried potatoes in a spicy sauce). As nothing costs over $15, there’s no major commitment, and if the relationship doesn't work, move along to the next selection. The menu’s ideal for sharing and for mixing up in endless combinations. Alternate between chevre tartlet, spanakopita, or smoked salmon carpaccio. Invent your own meal. Dining in such a way permits the rules of wine pairings to step aside like snooty impostors, and what goes best with dinner is exactly what tempts you. Santiago’s Bodega is a good-natured, low-key, food-lovers hangout, a neighborhood restaurant. - Margit BisztrayContinued

Diner Reviews
  • "A great experience! Overall the food was excellent and the service was good. We were there on a busy Saturday night. Our table was ready when we arrived and the service was prompt and efficient, although beverage refills were a bit slow. The meat fans thought the Petite Rack of Lamb and the Beef Carpaccio was some of the best they had eaten. The Ceviche could have marinated a little longer but it was good. The green bean dish was quite good as well. We will be back."

  • "Our entire family (2 teenage boys) loved Santiago's Bodega. We're still talking about it days later. Favorites were the pork tenderloin, chicken, meat balls, brussel sprouts, and the cronut dessert, which was one of the specials that night. We will definitely go back!"

  • "On the suggestion of a friend, we reserved a large table and brought a group of 16 for Sunday brunch. All I can say is WOW. The food was amazing and was constantly replenished. Do NOT MISS OUT ON THE FRENCH TOAST!! In addition to the carving station, there was a huge selection of biscuits and gravy, sausages, the most delicious bacon, hot (non fried) calamari, tuna tartare, clusters of just-out-of-the-kitchen crab legs, a whole table of desserts and more. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention that sangrias and mimosas are ALL YOU CAN DRINK and are included in the very reasonable brunch price. Our server seemed a bit harried (well, I can't imagine who wouldn't with the crazy tables we dined with), but she did a good job nonetheless."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant. Great menu choices."

  • "It's a "tapas" restaurant, but this is American-style tapas, not the bite-sized treats you'd find in Spain. The food is decidedly more diverse too. There are many Mediterranean-style items, but the menu also shows a lot of Asian and New World influences."

  • "The sangria was over priced for only an okay glass of wine with too much ice. The second time around a different bartender made the drink and it did not resemble the first. I would not order this again. But the really BIG (even HUGE - but I can not change the font here) issue was the bread. Okay, in Europe they charge for bread and I understand the practice so that was not the problem. The problem was there were three of us dining, the restaurant charged $3 for bread and served a small plate with two small rolls on it. Now mind you, it was just bread. Nothing extraordinary or vaguely even special.... just two small rolls like you could pick up at Publix (the local grocery in this neck of the woods). Can you say "Insulting?""

  • "We loved the ambience, food, music, service! Amazing place for brunch (10-2). We could not have picked a better restaurant for our ladies' brunch!"

  • "The service was good; however I thought the server was a little unprofessional. He was basically pushing us out so he could flip the table and actually told my group. He rushed us through our meal. He also told us he only wanted to wait on beautiful women and not families with noisy children. Totally unprofessional for someone who has apparently waiting tables for 25 years, which is what he told us."

  • "We have eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed the food. I will say, however, that the Sangria lacksanything but a grape juice taste. We typically do not order that anymore."

  • "Every bite was delicious, the waiter had some good suggestions and we made great choices too- tuna ceviche and scallop special was my favorite. All very fresh. Came here for a birthday celebration and it was a hit. Nice outdoor seating but also nice inside. Great service and devine food. Will be back"

  • "My first experience at Santiago's was great (not counting the fabulous lunch I had at the Key West location). In this case, a Sun pm, we were seated immediately; I was grateful that we were seated in the requested quilted banquets. Took way too long for our drink order to be taken. Second drink was next to impossible. Food came out quickly but took way too long to order a second round of plates. Waiter was apologetic but didn't help the warm cosmo, melted ice in a $14 glass of Bookers and overdone meats (in 2-3 dishes) from sitting too long under the heat lamp (guessing). Wine was excellent; overall the food was excellent. Great ambiance - little loud, but I am ok with that. So we'll be back, but hoping the service issues are worked out."

  • "Tried it on a whim and will definitely go back when i am in that part of Orlando. Service was great and the food was excellent for a fair price."

  • "Love the eclectic atmosphere and menu. Bright different art covers the walls and some overhead lights are just table lamps nailed to the celing! The menu changes frequently and I am always happily surprized after trying an unexpected flavor combination. The thyme crusted lamb was supurb albeit slightly dry; the short ribs were plate lick-able, and the buratta was extra fresh. Great wine values as well with a good list of Spanish selections. Service could use some work...and smiles."

  • "Everything on the menu we tried was absolutely delicious. Great place for any foodie! Prosciutto wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese are Must! The ceviche was fresh and very tasty. I have heard great things about the menu, and this place definitely lives up the mark!"

  • "We made a reservation for 8:15pm and arrived 10 minutes early. They sat us immediately which was great. Our server was nice but just going through the motions as opposed to making it a wonderful experience. She offered no recommendations and was basically an order taker. All of the other staff that came by to bring food or take an empty plate were extremely nice and friendly and seemed to care about our dining experience."

  • "We just happened to find this doing some searching and wow...are we glad we did! We went on Sunday for their brunch/buffet and well worth the $35 and unlimited sparkling sangria! Crab legs, omelets, fruit, salad, carving station, chili, the list goes one and on. Everyone mentioned the bacon in their reviews...yum...went back for another piece! Wish I had room for a third piece! But the french toast made from crescents was amazing. My husband had it at the beginning and again for dessert! We will definitely be back to this hidden gem! And they also have this deal on Saturdays too! We will take our kids and their spouses next time. Thanks to our server for making our 36 year anniversary very special! :)"

  • "We had 2 short ribs that looked like charred 4" BBQ bones with dry meat, horrible. Shrimp and chorizo on stick, not great. Bland chicken, uncoated, on a skewer when chewed, crunched. We left that unfinished. Parking was way down a housing street. Don't waste your precious time or money on this place they call a restaurant. Go to the new, modern and clean, Kasa Tapas Restaurant, Orange Ave, Orlando."

  • "We wanted to try a new restaurant and got the suggestion from our waiter at the Wine Room... So we headed over.. The only complaint I have is the parking.. Its super difficult to find a parking there and according to our waiter the surrounding businesses are super ornery about anyone else parking there. We wound up parking on a street about a block behind the restaurant.. I definitely wouldnt have walked it by myself. But we got into the restaurant and it was worth it. The food was AWESOME!!!!!!!! The price was great as well! Each tapa is roughly between $7 and $11... It was 3 of us... we each ordered between 2-3 tapas, and we each were drinking and our tab was $100. The ambience is really rustic and cool!! Will DEFINITELY be going back!!!"

  • "this was our first time there. We laugh about our experience because we couldn't see what we were eating, but it was all so good we didn't even care! Did use flashlight app on phone to occasionally see what delicious thing was in front of us. I think anything they serve there would be memorable."

  • "Second visit. Good food. Service attentive enough but slow. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't matter. Love the Sunday afternoon happy hour. Good variety of tapas. One lamb undercooked and sent back. Instead of the new plate, reheater and this time overcooked. Otherwise good was very good. Lovely outdoor setting."

  • "Was good food. Need to educate your servers. Order "Hands of Time" bottle of wine and the waitor gave this dreadful story about the name of wine. He was wrong and the story of the name is on the bottle. Then, we sat for 10 minutes waiting for check. He said "I forgot". Training needed for staff and it would have been a wonderful experience!"

  • "This place is quickly becoming a go-to for me. I love anything tapas but especially when the tapas are awesome! I highly recommend their salads (big enough for 2), shrimp and chorizo, saganaki, lamb patties, carpaccio, quesadillas, and the bread pudding. I have been multiple times as you can see! Great wine and beer list too. I recommend making a reservation."

  • "Overall, the food at Santiago's was exceptional, especially the spanakopita. The server had good suggestions. But OMG was the restaurant loud on Friday at 8pm. I could barely hear the person across the table from me."

  • "We enjoyed Santiago's in Key West so we were anxious to try the Orlando location. Sunday brunch was incredible. Omelets to order, biscuits and gravy, brown sugar bacon, and various potato sides were all terrific. Prime rib and roasted leg of lamb for the main course. One of our party ordered from the taps menu at 10 am which was a welcome surprise. All you can imbibe of mimosas and/or sangria included in the price of admission. Great bang for the buck! Best new taps restaurantin WP/Orlando(yes way better than Scratch)"

  • "The food is great but the service was so awful! They were out of several food items we ordered but didn't communicate that until about 40 minutes after we ordered. Getting wine was a big challenge and after asking three times we finally got a refill 45 minutes later! The manager was extremely understanding and helpful. This is a hot spot and I would reccomend they do server training or hire new staff because they are getting a bad reputation."

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The menu had lots of varied items to please different folk. Be sure to only order 1-2 items at the beginning. Then order some more into the meal. Otherwise you will end up with everything coming out at once. This happened to us and made us feel rushed and the food was just too good to rush through."

  • "I visited your restaurant on Saturday, the 22nd for brunch. It was a fairly large group of us who came in for a birthday gathering. The only downfall was that the hostess was giving the table NOTICEABLY bad looks. She was very unprofessional."

  • "Really enjoyed it. Most of what we had was really good. A few things were just okay but mostly really good. Loved the atmosphere and outside dining. Service (Shannon) was great. We would go again. The dates and goat cheese were amazing."
