Diner Reviews
  • "Our party was looking for something affordable AND good food. We found that at Sante Fe. Our waitress was very helpful and nice. If we visit New York City again, we will definitely visit Sante Fe again."

  • "Food was OK, service was polite but slow at times. Good place to go for a basic meal but nothing that knocks your socks off. We had the Guacamole, Tortilla Soup, Chimichangas and Banana pudding. Crowd seems to be a bunch of regulars that have gone there for a long time. There weren't many people in there below 65. My girlfriend left her phone on the table and realized it was missing about 30-45 mins after we left. Surprisingly, it wasn't stolen. The staff located it and held it for me at the front until I could get there to pick it up. Kudos to them."

  • "Santa Fe is one of those comfortable restaurants we love. Always greeted warmly by Alex and all the waitstaff that we have come to know. Ellie is our fav! Food is dependable and they are always willing to make changes. Brunch is surprisingly good. Fajitas and hamburger is our go to."

  • "This little gem just off Columbus Avenue still has the best margaritas in town...the food is excellent, the service, sublime. I just love it for lunch or dinner!! And it is so nice to be able to have a civil conversation without loud music blaring."

  • "We love this restaurant for our 'tex mex' fix. The guacamole is delicious and so is the tortilla soup. A great option are the fish taco app as a meal - really good. I recommend this place, but the service can be hit or miss depending on how many large groups are there, and how well the particular server handles it."

  • "Went here prior to a Lincoln Center performance. Quick friendly service and food enjoyed by all four."

  • "I've been to this restaurant a few times now and each time is better than the last. I ordered the crab cakes which tasted fresh and were paired perfectly with a smoky tomato sauce. The Valentine's day special pomegranate margarita was delicious. Service was great. No complaints"

  • "I wanted to walk out almost as soon as I walked in. Floors were dirty and decor was unappealing. The salsa and chips they served were passable, but meager. The food was like a bad fast food restaurant. I couldn't find the steak in a steak enchilada. The salt level in the tortilla soup had to rival the Atlantic! The servers were nice but they didn't have much to work with. Stick with chipotle."

  • "Everything about Santa Fe was good; we were seated immediately upon arrival, and our server arrived at our table immediately, with great salsa and chips, to take our drink order. Our food came piping hot and exactly as we ordered (a few special requests were taken care of) and it was delicious!"

  • "Had the spinach salad and steak and carrot cake. Food was good, no complaints. Not a foodie place, but the atmosphere was very nice, with plenty of space around tables and a charming decor. The real standout at Santa Fe was the staff, who were excellent and attentive and sweet."

  • "An old favorite, we stopped by after a number of months. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. While the food came out very quickly it seemed a bit over cooked. Might just have been an off night."

  • "The background buzz was helpful since we had dinner with 5 and 7 year old grandchildren. My shrimp roll appetizer was enough as a main course, preceded by an excellent and filling chicken vegetable soup. Enjoyed the guacamole which was deliciously spicy but not overwhelmingly so because of a chopped tomato addition. Portions were extremely generous - one dish could have been split between the two children. Attentive wait staff."

  • "Came here for my husband's birthday w friends, bc we knew it's a sure-fire hit. Comfortable, can actually carry on a conversation, great friendly service. Top picks: definitely the crab cakes! also, the chipoltle chicken and sweet potato black bean burrito. margaritas really are the best in town. note, we came on a Tues eve, might be a little noisier on the weekend. Tues taco nite is a good deal too!"

  • "There are very little options in the UWS; either too expensive or diner-like. This was perfect for grabbing a quick bite before or after The Beacon. Reasonable and tasty but needs to start serving Mojitos."

  • "Needed a last minute reservation to meet with friends and noticed Santa Fe. We had a terrific evening starting with the welcoming host who made sure we liked our table, our pleasant and professional server and of course, the delicious, fresh food. The room is very cheerful and attractive with tables spaced so that we could enjoy a conversation in privacy and without overhearing or bothering our neighbors. Our margaritas were delicious and the fajitas ( we tried all three kinds) really tasty and authentic. We plan to return again soon and recommend Santa Fe highly."

  • "Back room was nice and spacious. Food was amazing - great meat, noirmaly in places that do spanish the meet is less awesome as it usually served with lots of spices and sides. I could have eaten my Fajita steak by itself and would have been very happy. Will definitely eat here again."

  • "My husband and I come here whenever we are in NYC. The pork chops and guacamole are the best we've ever had. We made sure to reserve chops too! The service is outstanding! Highly recommend"

  • "I had eaten at Santa Fe many times in its previous location, and only recently rediscovered it thanks to friends who live on the Upper West Side. It is a consistently good, reasonably priced restaurant - I have been back many times recently, mostly prior to performances at Lincoln Center. The only comment I would have about my most recent visit is: we ate early, the restaurant was not crowded, but the food took a long time to come."
