Diner Reviews
  • "We have eaten here many times over the years. Diner was excellent! The food is delicious - full of vibrant flavors and well prepared. I had the smaller rib eye - perfectly cooked. My son had a chimichanga that was excellent. Both the painted desert soup and the black bean soup were excellent. Great dessert. Will return with pour next visit to Hilton head."

  • "Have been going to Sante Fe for ~20 years. Focused menu but they have the meals down quite well. Have been there for many special occasions. Good to make a reservation especially during prime dinner hours."

  • "We are local and have enjoyed Santa Fe for over 7 years. The only issue I have experienced is sometimes indoor dining is so loud it is hard to speak to people. This was not the issue Saturday night between 7-9. We brought a couple new to the Bluffton area and it was a great experience."

  • "First time visit, totally impressed with the food and service, exceeded our expectations. Ceviche and chimichanga were outstanding. Will definitely be back many times. Only downside was it was kind of noisy and just from normal talking at the tables."

  • "Food and service were excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. All in all a great dining experience."

  • "is was our first experience at Santa Fe. The food and service were good. Based on our visit, where you are seated has a big effect on the overall experience. We were in a are of the restaurant where employees were placing the food on dishes. It seemed the ere having a contest on which one could make the most noise slamming the dishes, which had a negative impact on our dining. May try this venue again, but would definitely not sit the same area."

  • "We make it a point to visit Santa Fe Cafe every time we visit Hilton Head. We have never been disappointed. They do everything right and consistent. It is our favorite restaurant on the island. We would love to have one like it in Atlanta."

  • "We tried this out. It was great. The food was good. Service was OK. Our server was not very friendly. The food was a little over priced for what you get. Plan to spend $80 to $100 to feed a family of 4."

  • "My husband and I have vacationed in Hilton Head a number of times and had not tried Santa Fe Cafe before. A friend recommended it and now we can't wait to go back! The guacamole was amazing as were our entrees -- I had the vegetarian chile relleno and my husband had the chimichangas. We were crazy stuffed - SO much food! - but our friend who suggested it said we couldn't leave without trying the pistachio cheesecake... and she was totally right, it was so good (and homemade, too!). All around great service and loved the atmosphere."

  • "Overall, food was very well executed versions of standard southwest fare. Ceviche was especially good and highly recommended. Prices were a bit higher than typical mexican/southwest restaurants."

  • "Not only was the presentation of the food "wowing", the flavors of the dish were outstanding. Everyone one at the table tremendously enjoyed their choice, as well as the gluten free appetizer. My friend was so impressed with the gluten free choices. This was a gem which was referred to us by a friend. We will continue to refer other friends to this restaurant and will make sure to dine here again. We also loved that reservations were available."

  • "Excellent food! Cheesy appetizer was yummy and large enough to share! The wait staff was friendly and very helpful!! We'll definitely recommend to others."

  • "We brought friends to this restaurant which is a fav of ours. They thoroughly enjoyed the breadth of menu offerings and energy of the restaurant. Wine & beer list had some interesting and different-than-the-usual selections. Food was excellent as always - the Painted Desert soup (yes, it actually looks like a painted desert) was great, my Herb-Roasted Free Range Chicken with cornbread stuffing was seasoned just right, and my husband's Outrageous Chimichanga was, indeed, outrageously good. We were glad we had a table indoors; while outdoor rooftop seating was available, there was a torrential downpour while we were eating....dodged that bullet!"

  • "We tried the Santa Fe Cafe for the first time during our recent trip to HH. We had late dinner reservations for the roof top patio. Fun and vibrant ambience, especially since they had live music that night. If you want seated outdoors, I would definitely plan ahead as there are not a lot of tables up there. Food was amazing as well. My husband had the appetizer ceviche and couldn't stop raving about it. Great quality food and presentation overall. Will defintely go back!"

  • "Santa Fe cafe is just a nice treat and change from the usual seafood beach restaurant. Nice decor and atmosphere. We always request outside seating, but in the summer opt for later in the evening. Food and drinks are good, with a reasonable selection and variety, including seafood. The ceviche is my favorite appetizer with shrimp and scallops, cilantro and lime that makes it so fresh and light."

  • "Food was very tasty. Best scallops I ever had. Being so near to water wish there were more fish choices . Enjoyed the restaurant however ."

  • "Santa Fe is tucked away in a what appears to be a business strip mall. I am glad we found it. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. We had a large group (11) and Santa Fe was able to make it work without a problem. Management slammed our server with several tables at once, but the server did a great job managing the situation. After dinner, we walked outside to listen to some music. The bar and tables outside are great for a date night. I would recommend Santa Fe to the visitors on Hilton Head Island."

  • "It was kinda cute. Decent view of outdoors and not many patrons. Food was good - sorta like an Olive Garden but pricier. No complaints. Great rosemary lavash!"

  • "Ate at Santa Fe on Saturday night, June 21st and had a very good experience. Open Table reservation honored with immediate seating on the first floor. Service was very good and food was quite good. We enjoyed the Chimichanaga, Shrimp Fajitas and Burrito. The only "not-so-good" item is the NOISE. It is deafening...the server couldn't even hear us !!! Other than that...wonderful dinner !!"

  • "Santa Fe had an eclectic mix of Tex-Mex - A portabello mushroom was not what I expected to see but it was very well prepared and tasty."

  • "Better than expected food at beach resort, better than other tex-mex establishments on Island. Highly recommend."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Very overpriced for very average mexican food. Pictures of reatraunt make it look upscale, but far from it. Lots of young people drinking heavily at outside dining. Food not much better than fast food mexican. Service slow, waited a long time to take order, did not check drinks, and waited a long time for chek."

  • "Good service and great food. The good was flavorful and we tried many appetizers. Very enjoyable place for a nice dinner out. Not fine dining, but definitely not run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex restaurant."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "Ordered trio with cheese enchilada, which was small and mediocre. The pepper was burnt, not roasted and the "sweet corn tortilla" is not Southwestern but more of a dessert for a child's sweet taste. Gross! Lived in Southwest over 21 years and this is NOT Southwest food!!! Also, the prices are exorbitant for the quantity and quality of the food!! Never again!"
