A word from Sant Ambroeus - Madison Avenue
Shortly after the original Sant Ambroeus opened its doors in Milan in 1936, a devoted following emerged. This celebrated pasticceria and confetteria became the meeting place for the local intelligentsia, whether beginning their day with Sant Ambroeus’s legendary cappuccino and cornetto, savoring panini at lunch, or spending their evening enjoying refined cuisine in the restaurant’s elegant dining room.
We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.

  • "This place was great! I made an early reservation and the resturant was pretty empty when we arrived however we were still seated on top of another table. When I asked the hostess about this she was not eager to change my table. Thankfully Dino came over and was able to give us one of the empty tables. He picked a great wine and our server was outstanding! The food was quite good and we did not feel rushed at all. I will be back to this resturant."

The food is always deliciously prepared and the ambiance, service and presentation perfectly Italian. They offer what i consider the best coffee/espresso drinks in the neighborhood."

  • "This was our first impression of Sant Ambroeus are we were delighted. The quality of the food, the warm attentive service and the ambience all contributed to a first class dining experience. I enjoyed the tuna tartare as a starter and found super fresh product with a perfect blend of capers and avocado. The breaded veal chop was the finest that I have tasted in NYC - wonderful golden color and surprisingly light. The deserts are a delight and should be sampled over may progressive visits with the best espresso in the City. We will be back - many times !"
