Diner Reviews
  • "The food is always excellent as Robert Sansone is the chef and owner. His lovely wife Erica is the hostess. My husband always orders the liver and onions and is never disappointed. They always get special wines and recomend pairing of wines with your meals. We have been coming to Sansones for years after being introduced to the restaurant from our friends. Reservations recomended."

  • "Sansone's routinely serves outstandingly prepared entrees, including specials. Waitstaff is courteous, knowledgable, and friendly. This place never disappoints!"

  • "We frequent this restaurant often for the service and uniqueness of the menu, particularly the specials. The dessert soufflé is tops! We have celebrated special occasions there including birthdays and Thanksgiving. The chef makes rounds throughout dinner and the wait staff is very attentive. You can tell they have a following of regulars. Although it's cozy and has a European like influence, we only wish the layout of tables wasn't so tight. When they are busy (often the case), and you don't get a "full booth" it often feels as though you are sitting in a hallway or the other patrons are sitting at your table. We did overhear (hard not to), they have plans for a new location and look to expand. Executed well, this would be welcome."

  • "I had a great time at this restaurant which is on my favorites list, along with Pam our server. Everything was delicious and the wine was great."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary dining at Sansone's, a south suburban neighborhood gem if there ever was one. The quality of the food compares with what you'd find at the most fashionable restaurants in Denver but at much more moderate prices. As usual, it was a lovely dining experience. Warm friendly family atmosphere. Wonderful menu and specials. Sublime desserts. Our favorite. As an added perk, if you spend $50 or more on food you can purchase $5 movie tickets good at Regal and United Artist theaters for any movie, any time."

  • "Sansone's Bistro provides a limited menu, but everything on it is worth ordering. It covers many regions in Europe, and from soup to the dessert souffle, there is a definite attention to detaiol in the mix of flavors and the enjoyment of the clientele"

  • "Took my mom and brother, who were visiting from out of town, to Sansone's for Thursday night prime rib. It was fabulous! Great flavor, tender and great sides - can't beat it. Service was wonderful as well (but it always is)."

  • "This is small, cozy neighorhood restuarant with a relatively limited menu and wine list. However, we have had two very positive dining experiences here and will definitely be going back. Though ostensibly an Italian restaurant the menu usally has a few German/Austrian type dishes as well - try the weiner schnitzel, it's one of the best we ever had. WE also loved the veal piccata. A great find for a party of 2-4 people. Next time we will probably try the eggplant parmigiana, ususally the acid test for an Italian restaurant."

  • "We had a group of 9 for dinner on a Friday night. At the last minute we had to adjust the reservation time. The restaurant was very accommodating and we had a great celebration dinner. The food and service were excellent. For a small restaurant they had plenty of food options for everyone. Not only were the entrees great, but the sides were excellent as well. And don't forget the Grand Marnier souffle for dessert."

  • "The staff could not be more attentive; making us feel special whenever we visit and each outing a truly memorable experience! And the food is ALWAYS fantastic. Sansone's Bistro is our go-to restaurant for celebrations and we are never disappointed. I look forward to meals at Sansone's with great excitement. Thank you Chef Sansone."

  • "We so enjoy eating out at this restaurant. It's a cozy spot with friendly staff and outstanding food for the taste buds. I really enjoy the salad with Dijon ranch dressing, tangy on the tongue. The soups are also outstanding but many I cannot have because they are not gluten free but my husband enjoys them all. I had the Veal Anjou which was excellent, cooked to tender perfection. The sides are always a treat--one of my favorites is the red cabbage. Whenever we want to have a delicious meal at a reasonable price for what you get, we go to Sansone's. I highly suggest you try this restaurant if you haven't already."

  • "What a surprise! This small restaurant delivers big time in all respects. The food was innovative, fresh, and very, very tasty. Our waitress was cheerful, attentive, but not overbearing, and we were welcomed by Mrs. Sansone (her husband is the chef), who was delightful. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "There were four of us that ate here for dinner. We were all VERY impressed with the food. The cook/owner even came to our table after we had finished to see if we were happy with the meal. Nobody has ever done that before which impressed us even more. I have to admit though...the bread pudding was the best I have ever had in my life!!! "

  • "My wife & I eat at Sansone's several times a year and always enjoy our meals there. Although the regular menu is limited, Chef Robert always has an interesting special available. This visit was no exception. The food was delicious, our server was friendly and helpful, and we weren't rushed through our meal. Our daughter was with us as we were celebrating her 21st birthday, and the "Happy Birthday" in chocolate writing on her dessert plate really topped off the evening for her! "

  • "The Happy Anniversary promo card we received was a perfect reminder to come back for another visit! Living in downtown Denver, we don't always think of dining in Englewood, but meeting friends at that end of town made Sansones the perfect choice. Plus it turned out they were Sansones regulars! Our meal was delicious and the grand marnier soufflé is not to be missed! We will be back. "

  • "Sansone's is a neighborhood gem and we are very grateful that they have remained here. Chef Robert is the best and everyone is so friendly and wanting to give you the best service whenever you eat there. I love the paintings that are for sale hanging on the walls - what a treat and how economically priced by local artists. I highly recommend Sansone's!!"

  • "We botched the reservation date & showed up the wrong night. The hostess recognized our miss on the prior evening (we were a day late) and was very pleasant in finding us a table on a busy Friday evening. Thoroughly enjoyed our entrees of soles and schnitzel. We will pay better attention to dates in making future reservations and we will return to Sansone's. "

  • "I had the filet mignon special and my husband had the wienerschnitzel. Both were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. It's lovely that the owners, Erica and Chef Robert, personally check with the guests to make sure everything is okay. And of course it's always more than okay. This is our go-to restaurant to bring friends or for special occasions. It never disappoints. "

  • "It was a joy to celebrate Easter without having to cook--let Robert do it! I had the salmon plate, which the chef made gluten-free for me and everything on it was delicious. My husband had the corned beef hash with sides, one of his favorites. My daughter had the lamb which was so tender it was falling off the bones. The dessert was especially for us, a baklava ice cream cake that they even cut off the graham cracker crust for us---it wasa WOW! In addition, all the tables had Easter decorations along with chocolates and jelly beans--the gourmet ones. It was such a treat--we will for sure do this again for a holiday!"

  • "We go to Sansone's about once a month and it is always wonderful in every aspect. The regular menu is diverse to accommodate everyone's taste, the service is always excellent and the prices are more than reasonable. The two or three specials each evening are always changing and provide an opportunity for regular customers to try something new when the mood hits you to do so. Robert, the chef/owner, comes out of the kitchen to say hello to every table and to inquire about the quality of the meal and the service. "

  • "We have been going to Sansone's Bistro for years and have always had great food and service. They are always changing their menu and have specials each night. Whenever we don't feel like cooking, especially during the week, we head over to Sansone's and let them do the cooking!"

  • "Robert Sansone is one o the BEST CHEFS in Denver in my opinion. Although the Menu not overly large, by any means, incl his Daily specials he has quite the Continental selection. Everything he prepares is absolutely incredible. His daily soups are unbelievably good and not your "run-of-the-mill" kind. We had cheicken-hummus on Saturday, which was UNREAL. I would recommend Sansone's to everyone. GREAT FOOD. Great SERVICE and both Erica and Robert make it a point to speak to each and every patron at each table !! Wonderful!!!"

  • "We wanted to eat in Littleton, and this restaurant came up with the best rating. Now it might be OK for your typical Italian strip mall restaurant, but certainly not on the scale of upscale or gourmet food (worthy of 4.5 stars). The restaurant is outdated, with dirty and broken ceiling tiles. The servers do not present well. My salad was wilted. I had veal liver, reported to be the "best ever". Frankly, it tasted like the cow's liver my mom used to make. I ate three bites and was done. I got a white wine flight for $5.00 and was served a white wine flight worth $5.00. The signature dessert was really impressive, but not presented well by our server, who dumped the toppings into it. Frankly, a terrible experience. "

  • "I'd give 5 stars for the food and service, but was really surprised by one thing... The waiter and manager acknowledged it was our anniversary when we came in (I let them know when I made the reservation). We pre-ordered their signature Grand Marnier souffle for dessert when we ordered our meal, at their recommendation due to the cook/prep time. We also had a bottle of wine, an appetizer and two of their more expensive entrees. They were all delicious! But when the souffle was brought out it had fallen. Our waiter offered to have it remade (would have taken a long time), but assured us it would still taste great (it did!). I spent $120 and tipped another $30. But I was surprised they charged us for the Souffle! Otherwise, perfect."

  • "Tonight we did the early bird special which gives you plenty to eat. The salad with the Dijon Ranch dressing is always tasty. I had the sole with artichokes and feta cheese--superb! My husband had the shrimp linguine. My sides included red cabbage, red rice and yummy cooked greens. The combination of flavor seas the best"
