It is not the most impressive place from the road but once inside it is a great experience. It is what a restaurant should be. The food was outstanding. The service was great and the Chef / Owner came out twice to make sure that everything was perfect. If you are in the Denver area you need to make a reservation. It is a very small place but that lends itself to a dining experience and not another meal. Mom's Lasagna is the best classic red sauce lasagna ever. The entire Italian menu, not limited to red sauce, is delicious and served in generous sized portions. It makes a nice addition to Sansone's regular elegant but never pretentious menu. Italian Tues. or any other night, Sansone' makes exquisite fine dining accessible even to those of us who can't afford the staggering prices at more famous, high end but not higher quality restaurants. Well worth a trip even if you don't live nearby. Glad we do. Warm and friendly. Attentive but not intrusive service. Tonight I had the Soth African lamb chops which were spicy and deliciously seasoned--I would highly recommend them. I also enjoyed the icy dessert from raspberry and mango, light but satisfying to the sweet tooth. We each had the tenderloin with a cream cheese with dates and prosciutto mixture on top. We always delight in the choice of vegetables served with the entree. Yummy as always!!! I'd driven by it many times but from the outside it doesn't appear as anything special so it wasn't until a friend recommended it that I finally stopped in to eat. The menu is varied with options for every palette and the food with exquisitely prepared. We had a party of 3 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Food every bit as wonderful and well executed as at more well known Denver spots that cost an arm and a leg without the scary prices. Warm family atmosphere. Attentive owners and staff make diners feel like welcome friends. We love Sansone's for special occasions and we also appreciate offers, such as the early dining option, that make a truly lovely dinner even more affordable for people like us who appreciate fine food but have a limited budget.. Chef Robert has the canny expertise in mixing unique flavors and every entrée we have had has been special. They have a superb wine list at a very reasonable per bottle costs. (We suspect the restuarant struggles with this problem...hard to deter your paying loyal regulars but then that makes it hard to attract new folks who won't be dead soon) Don't let that assessemnt, true as it might be, prevent you from trying this place... if you'd like a quiet meal with nice people and good food this might be just the ticket. We were going somewhere afterwards that was serving dessert, so we weren't able to try their desserts this time. We will definitely be coming back and trying something new. The only recommendation I have is if you are a vegetarian, be sure to tell them because one of their sides has bacon in it (which they don't tell you on the menu).The service was fantastic too. There was always someone refilling your water and the waitress was very friendly. The owner came over and introduced herself. It has the neighborhood feel with the high class food.
