  • "We enjoyed an after theatre dinner here recently. The service was fantastic, the tapas great and the sangria wonderful. We had two pitchers-strawberry with peaches and raspberry limoncello-both were amazing. The selection of tapas is excellent and I would recommend the shrimp in garlic sauce, the grilled squid, the ham and cheese plate and the sausage empanadas. We also had the flan which was lovely. After dinner, our charming waiter brought us complimentary aged rum and another potion of banana liquor and rum. We had a marvelous time and will definitely return!"

  • "we ordered xxl sangria ended up being a bit pricey but worth it with strawberries and peaches yummy..we all did prix fix dinner meals I had chorizo app it was good but a bit too oily two other friends had the shrimp app it was amazing withgarlic and oil omg I would go back just for that other friend had a plain salad..entrees I had garlic chicken it was average wish it had more garlic it was more like A light grilled chicken meal..one girl had tamarind chicken it was delish other had lobster ravioli 4 ravioli but nice n big and just enough and other had shrimp n chorizo w rice.. had apple pie whichwas delish..they had a back patio I'd like to come back with the girls when we have more time to sit n snack n drink sangria on a nice day"

  • "I met two friends here, to have a leisurely lunch and spend some time catching up among us. I've been here several times before and made the recommendation to eat here. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. We all choose from the prix fix lunch menu, which had a multitude of choices, and was reasonably priced; it even included a glass of wine or sangria. With a generous tip of 20% it ran $30 per person. We were not rushed at all and the server was very good. We will all most definitely come back!"

  • "Made a 6:15 reservation for 4 and was seated by 6:25. We told the waiter who came after 15 minutes that we had show tickets so we just ordered drinks and a main dish. By 7:30 pm not being served we were very annoyed. It's a very loud restaurant and probably best for Sangria drinkers. Unfortunately the Bistec Portabello was disappointing - really not worth the wait. The hostess was sweet and running around trying to be helpful, but this was not a great dining experience."

  • "Went for dinner before a show. My friend was very happy with his paella. I had gambas al ajillo which didn't taste the way I'm used to them and I didn't like them too much. The Sangria was delicious and if I didn't want to stay alert for the show I would have had much more. I used my will power and skipped dessert but the espresso coffee was perfection. The service was very good - attentive but not hovering and lurking. I will happily try it again but will order something else."

  • "We chose this restaurant based on Open Table reviews and the proximity to the theatre. This was definitely a win-win situation! The food and staff were amazing, not to mention the best sangria we ever drank. Our server was exceptional and allowed us to enjoy our meal at the leisurely pace we enjoy and there was no problem in getting to the theatre in time for the curtain. He even ended our meal for us with complimentary shots of coconut vodka with a chunk of pineapple in it - this was a marvelous evening and we cannot wait to dine here again!"

  • "We chose to pick a number of tapas -- but the entire menu looked wonderful. Sangria 46 had the classic tapas choices - but many of them with a distinctive twist. The Patatas Aioli were delightfully different than other tapas restaurants - the potatoes were browned and served warm. Empanadas Argentinas are fabulous and highly recommended. The classic Datiles con Tocino were well executed and the Filet Mignon a la Plancha was very well prepared. The one dish that I would not recommend were the Jalepenos Rellenos -- nothing wrong with them, just not up to the standard of the rest of the meal. As expected, the sangria was well appreciated and the service was outstanding. We strongly recommend Sangria 46."

  • "In my travels, I've been exposed to great Spanish cuisine. Sangria 46 offers the average dinner a compliment of traditional Spanish cuisine in a lively environment. My family and I ordered their Paella, Churrasco (skirt stake), Chicken, Puffed pastry with crabmeat appetizer, black bean soup and their flan. The flavors were balanced and enjoyable. While their traditional menu is good, their Winter Specials are delectable. My wife order their Chicken Andaluz which contained a savory-sweet dates' sauce that left you wanting more. Their portions are large, giving you a bang for your buck. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and provided very good service. The decor is pleasant but needs updating."

  • "Just tried Sangria 46 for the first time before a 7:30 pm concert and was pleasantly surprised. Four of us shared 6 or 7 tapas dishes, all of which were delicious. I've had tapas in Spain which spoiled me, but these did not disappoint. The white sangria was good too, not too sweet, not too bubbly, well soaked fruit. My only complaint is the price of a pitcher - $26 - because it was mostly ice and got watered down way too quickly. I expected better given the name of the restaurant."

  • ". this restaurant is a cute little place. the staff was as friendly as can be. we ate off the tapas bar which included pulpo a gallega (nice after spice and quite tender), meatballs in a chipolte sauce (could have had a little more heat and been hotter), their special of frenched style chicken legs (delicious), scallops wrapped in bacon(overdone) and tripe with chickpeas(loved it). , it was freezing outside only to find that the heat system was down and it was a little chilly inside too, which did not help to keep the hot dishes we ordered hot. they did try to help by placing a portable heater near our feet. i would definately come back,, perhaps in late spring to sit outside on the cute garden patio area"

  • "I was looking for a tapas restaurant in NYC to meet a group of friends; I wanted a place were we could relax, have a great dinner, sangria and catch-up. Lots of good choices, but I wanted something convenient to mid-town as we were all in different hotels. Sangria 46 was the perfect choice and all of my friends have since commented on the great time, delicious tapas and exceptional service. Our waiter Valentino made sure that we had a great experience; recommending tapas, Sangrias (they have a good selection and we liked the lemoncello best) and even joining us for a few drinks at the end. We left the restaurant feeling more like family than guests and highly recommend it to all."

  • "The food was good. However, we expected something better. The bread was cold and hard and the butter was frozen; bad combination. For the price we paid, we expected something bigger. We ordered the portabella mushroom and we found a medium sized mushroom good for one. Sangria was ok as well. The only large portion we had was the paella. Although it was big, it was under cooked. The rice was still semi-hard in the middle."

  • "We LOVE Sangria 46 and have dined there over 6 times at least. It was a unusually warm December night in NYC the last time we dined there so the patio was open and the doors were open too. We sat at a table by the doors. Unfortunately several guests were smoking while dining on the patio. Apparently this is allowed in NYC. Unfortunately this disturbed our meal."
