  • "We were the group of five there. We had to return 3 dishes back to the kitchen and had to substitute with some other orders: the fried calamari tasted like a robber rings (maybe they were...), the fish was spoiled and smelled like it was frozen and unfrozen till it died for the second time in it's poor life. The waiter never bothered to bring bread and butter until we asked for it and when it was brought to the table we counted exactly 5 slices (looked like the restaurant goes with the norm - one slice per hungry person). The waiter then offered us an ice cream on the house and brought two small portions of an ice cream and 4 spoons for five adults."

  • "Cute restaurant with view of the bay. Food was surprisingly good - delicious, fresh salad with all kinds of lettuce, fish - both salmon and halibut- were excellent. homemade soft serve for dessert. Good small wine list. If they kicked everything up a notch (tablecloths, service) could be a 5! We would go back however."

  • "Do try their heaping clam chowder in a bread bowl and eat the whole thing! Great wait staff always very friendly and a big smile. Their Wild caught salmon is really well prepared, and they now have espresso! Good wine selection."

  • "Within 10 minutes of sitting down we noticed (4) tables complaining about slow service. One man sent his food back. We should have left at that point but I had a living social coupon that was about to expire and it was Father's day and we probably would have not found another place close by with availability. We ordered (1) mussel and (1) oyster appetizer. We also ordered (3) entrees for the (3) of us and asked that my son's cheeseburger off the kids menu be brought out as soon as possible. He's 3 years old no explanation needed there. The appetizers took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive. 2 hours later when the entrees came out there were only (2) and they gave us a 3rd plate so we could share with my son as they forgot his cheeseburger!"

  • "My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality and flavors of our dinners. My seafood linguini was full of fresh seafood including plenty of salmon and mussels. The sauce was light with a hint of lemon...just right. My husband had the Sandpiper Snapper which was a combo of grilled crab, shrimp, cod and snapper with a light jack cheese and it came with delicious grilled veggies and rice. The restaurant is a little bit north of the tourist part of town, so there were a lot of locals which is always a good sign. The only thing is that the waiter didn't bring a small fork for the mussels or a bowl for the shells, but when asked to he was 'on it'. I'd definitely return!"

  • "I had the challenge in finding a restaurant for our family group of 8 ages 14, 19, 20's & 4 adults. Two do not eat Seafood. Sandoiper's menu looked the best & they didn't prove us wrong! The service was quick & friendly and everyone liked their food from burgers, sandwiches to pasta & seafood. A plus was making reservations on line. While pulling up to the restaurant, my hubby & remembered we'd had a romantic weekend in Bodega Bay over 10 years ago & had a nice dinner there. Enjoy!"

  • "The Sandpiper is an open airy restaurant with a nice view of Bodega Harbor. Under previous ownerships it has been a seafood restaurant and an Italian trattoria. Both were so-so. We hoped that under new ownership things would improve. Nope. Food isn't bad - not good either. Service is friendly, but not very efficient. Cost is high for what you get, in other words, tourist rates. There's nothing to particularly recommend here. Even the similarly mediocre overpriced Tides Restaurant has better views."

  • "The crab omelot said it had tomatoes in it but it came with green peppers (which weren't mentioned) and no tomatoes. I was fine with it and ate it (it was very good), but just not as described. We also ordered the side order of French Toast (2 slices for $6 vs. $9 for 3 slices in the full order). When it came, there were 3 slices on there. We told her we ordered the side order and the response was "it doesn't matter, they are all the same anyway". We were charged the $6.00 since that is what we ordered, but we definitely got the full order and it didn't seem to matter. That was kind of weird. (French Toast wasn't very good.) We had to ask for jelly for the toast, a refill of coffee, and catsup so service could have been better."
