Our first visit in many months and Sand Spring is remains a GREAT restaurant. The ever changing menu had some new gems including a house made meat loaf. Sounds odd but it was great. Friend had seafood which was fresh and prepared perfectly. Same excellent staff and chef. If you are within 30 miles, you must go!!

Recommended by a friend I finally found my way to Sandspring. Being an admitted foodie and Open Table junkie I was concerned over recent reviews but reassured by my friend that we would enjoy ourselves. ENJOY WE DID!! We both were captivated by the menu, service was helpful in directing us and pairing wine and the setting comfortable. An overall wonderful dining experience,so much so, that I purchased a gift certificate for my friend as a "thank you". Have no doubts Sandspring does it right.

The food was mediocre. The prices were expensive and the portions very small. My entree had very small scallops, which were hot. A dollop of potatoes and two broccoli spears which weren't even warm.

This was our first time back since the property changed ownership. We were seated right away as the restaurant was about half full. The wine list was OK but had no recognizable vineyards listed. The menu looked good, but it took an hour and twenty minutes for our entrée to come out. Other guests could be heard complaining about the slow service. When my Seafood Sublime finally arrived, it was very disappointing. The small lobster tail was tough and overdone, the scallops were hard and tasteless and the mahi-mahi was also bland. We are usually pretty easy to please, but this place was the exception.

Reservations for 6:45. seated right by what seemed to be the main service way, but felt like nomans land. The ONE server & the 2 bussers walked by us a lot but I only got a drink and my guest only got 2. Water was hard to get, too. Apps were great, but took a while to order them and dinner came out an hour and 20 minutes later. There was "a bit of a catastrophe" in the kitchen we were told. Didn't really get to enjoy the entrée because by the time it came out we were in a rush to get out. Very Disappointing again. Hopefully someday they will get their act in order so we can come more often, but for now probably stick to once a year. (by then we usually forget how bad the service is).

I have seen the open table for Sands Spring many times while searching my area for dinner reservations. We decided to try it since we were going to Cresco..what a great place! The food was excellent! Freshly prepared. Deserts as well were equally delicious. Fresh past made on the premises, the seafood was excellent...just a great experience...

We have been here several times before and each visit has been unique. The service was slow but expected due to several large tables. We ordered the martinis to start which were great and then wine with dinner. Appetizers were good (home made mozzarella and portabella mushrooms. The entrees seared sea scallops and the NY strip steak were cooked to perfection but we did not agree with how they were complemented. That said it was an enjoyable evening and the front of the house did a good job in spite of the rush. We will be back for sure.

Tucked away in a tranquil atmosphere this gem of the Poconos serves first class cuisine. Excellent service and great wine and beer list, I would highy recommend this fabulous dining experience! The calamari and caprese appetizers were superb. The steak and rack of lamb were cooked to perfection. We will most definitely be returning for an encore meal.

I found Sand Springs by surfing the web looking for someplace new to dine while out in the Tannersville Area. The menu online looked very good so we gave it a try. The restaurant is smaller than I anticipated which lent to it's charm. Our reservation was held using Open Table (the first time I used Open Table by the way). The meal was outstanding. Everything was homemade from the pasta to the ice cream....and you can tell. At first I though the portions were small but found myself full and the end of the meal which was nice. I guess the food was so good I just wanted more. Sand Springs was very good but it was also expensive, so I can't reccomend it as a staple, but for special occasions, it ranks with the best.

Wonderful creative menu. Friendly relaxed service. The Pappardelle was delicious and just the right portion size for a starter. Sand Spring has been consistently good until this last visit. It was crowded. It was a holiday weekend. But you'd think professionals would be able to handle that. It doesn't happen very often. I don't mind if I have to wait awhile for my meal - in this case over an hour. What's upsetting is that no one felt the need to come over and say we'd be served soon. My meal was Salmon in a lentil broth, except the broth was tap water and not very appetizing. I will wait awhile before I return, if ever.

This restaurant never fails to provide a wonderful dining experience. Both the "entree" and "bar" menus are new and exciting and provide a wide range of choices. Cocktails were perfectly prepared, dinner and dessert (all house made)fabulous and, as usual, impeccable service. As a side note I now understand Sandspring offers Thursday and Friday night specials. Next visit for me will be the friday night prime rib special.

Coming from owning a fine dining restaurant myself I know the importance of consistency in cuisine as well as service. I am a tough customer. And, Sand Spring never disappoints. Darren, the maitre d, is a true professional, such a pleasure. The food is always delicious. They have two menus. One you can enjoy in the bar area and the other in the more formal dining room. In times like these it's good to know you can go with a less expensive option and still have a scrumptious meal. The three way tuna off the bar menu is unbelievable! I had the 8oz. strip steak in the dining room. Delish! My fiance had the prime rib special. Not just any prime rib, but certified angus. Another fantastic meal! This is my go to restaurant in the area.

We went on New Years Eve. My 10 year old daughter came with my husband and I. It was our first time there. We all dressed up not knowing that it is a casual restaurant; there were people there with jeans and a t-shirt on. The waiters were interactive and very nice. The food was delicious, but there was a little too much food for my whole family. The dinner was prix fixe for the New Year, and included appetizer, salad, main course and dessert. We took some food home. The ambiance was good. It is a small restaurant, with 2 or 3 rooms, one with a nice sized bar in it. The restaurant is a bit hidden from the main road. There was live entertainment, a singer and guitar player duo. I would definitely recommend going to Sand Spring!

Dined there a second time, with friends. A bit noisy, for a while, this being a Saturday night, with music in the bar adjacent to the open dining room, but it was "soft" noise. The food was very good -- perfectly prepared in light sauces and presented chastely, without an excess of vegetable blandishments. However, the cost is a factor. The 1st course fois gras, at $14.50, as I remember, was delicious but laughably scanty -- even acknowledging the price of that specialty. Among the other dishes enjoyed were lightly cooked scallops and veal with pappardelle, both excellent. My lemon cake, with coconut, was delicious, as well.
