Diner Reviews
  • "We love going here. The cocktails are always unique. The presentation and flavor combinations are fantastic"

  • "There is nothing to say but go try it and enjoy! Saturday Market meals bring a wide variety of flavors to an otherwise fairly simple menu. Not to say that simple menu is a bad thing but limited choices, all of them delicious. Best Risotto I've ever had. Bring your vegetarian friends for the Cauliflower Steak mine say it's great!"

  • "My wife and I stumbled upon this place via Open Table. It looked interesting. It was. Very good food, reasonably priced, no fufu, lots of locals, perfect. We'll be back."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant. The daily specials are at the top of the best meals I've had in Seattle. I cannot praise them enough."

  • "I was not only impressed with my filet but the sautéed greens that came with were the best I've ever hAd! To top it off Scott the server was exceptional! Would definitely recommend!"

  • "Been dining here for awhile was surprised by new greeter this week with a lot of attitude no table in spite of reservation. When asked why he simply stated "I haven't checked it for awhile". No apology seated by door had to put up with his attitude all night as he waved patrons in and was really rude and not at all what I expect from this restaurant. Had a great waiter usually seated by a waiter should go back to that and get rid of the rude kid."

  • "In a region of Seattle hardly known for memorable cuisine, much less the nexus of foodies mania in other parts of the city, the Sand Point Grill is a sweet spot of excellent NW bistro style food, select drink and wine and a very comfy neighborhood feel. It can be a bit jammed and even backed up during Happy Hour but very comfortable most occasions."

  • "Everything was fabulous from the ambience and staff to the delicious food. We took two friends who were visiting from out of town and rather than take them somewhere familiar I decided to roll the dice and try someplace new. When I read that they focus on using quality organic ingredients and buy local and regional farmers I was sold. I've been very conscious of my diet recently learning what a huge difference it makes relative to the food you eat. Everything they prepared for us was delectable. We cleared our plates and I was a little sad that none of us had room for dessert. We will certainly be back for more and I will certainly recommend this restaurant to friends."

  • "There were eight of us and we all agreed the food was very good and that we would return for another meal. Five out of the eight ordered the hamburger per recommendation of one of our party who had been there before. All agreed the burgers were excellent. Other dishes ordered were fish tacos, fried chicken and the special of the day, seared cod which was outstanding. Clean plates all the way around the table. The service was friendly and efficient without making us feel rushed. Prices were reasonable without breaking the bank. All and all an enjoyable experience."

  • "We've been to Sand Point Grill many times before, but this was a special occasion--my husband's birthday. I love that they're taking reservations so that we had a reserved table in the back, where it was a bit quieter. As always, the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. I was a little disappointed that they didn't either stick a candle in my husband's dessert or give it to us for free, but that won't keep us from going back."

  • "I have been taking my wife to Sandpoint Grill for her Birthday for almost a decade. It is a small quiet spot perfect for a weekday evening dinner. We had the same this year as last: crab cakes and risotto, both of which are excellent."

  • "the new year's eve special menu was really good. everything tasted as noted in the menu. the tarragon oil was especially tasty on the lobster. prices were reasonable and service was great. all in all, a very nice place for solid food and fresh tastes."

  • "Wonderful little place to drop in and catch up with friends, food is fine although just a touch heavy-handed (my trout was well done but the sides and garnishes overwhelmed it). Service can be quite slow but the ambience is relaxed and friendly so that's not too much of a problem."

  • "The menu is fabulous: variety, inventive, including excellent attention to vegetables (delicious!), so many things I'd like to have it was hard to choose. Tad bit noisy for my taste, but I'm always wanting to enjoy a conversation. Great service.Very fresh ingredients."

  • "Great menu ranging from healthy, lighter dishes to good ol' comfort food. I had the cioppino, chock full of tender and tasty fresh fish, crab, scallops, etc. My wife had a pasta ragout of slow-roasted beef and lamb that was also excellent. Although I couldn't eat all of my stew, I was enviously eyeing my daughter's burger topped with wide, juicy bacon strips; I scored the last bite when she couldn't fit it all in. Didn't have room for dessert this time, but they've got a great pastry chef here, so think about saving some room on your first visit. Lots of neighborhood regulars in here, which I always take as a good sign. Service was a little too relaxed on our recent visit, but certainly gracious and pleasant. A real gem, in my view."

  • "Exceptional service from our waitress, even though it was a busy Friday night! We were disappointed that the Braised Ribs were not available, another night's special, however, everyone found something desirable on the menu, and no one was disappointed."

  • "Our group of five all enjoyed our choices from the varied menu. Elegant comfort food from burgers to fried chicken to cioppino. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and graciously handled the allergy issues in our group. It's a good "meet in the middle spot for our north end/southend group and we plan to go back."

  • "We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was warm, engaging yet efficient and meeting our every need including making wise choices in terms of food and wine. The food was the best of the 3 restaurants I ate at during Seattle Restaurant Week. Their menu for this celebrated week showcased their culinary excellence like none other. My filet mignon was perfect. It melted in my mouth. Lovely. I look forward to spending many evenings in Sand Point Grill"

  • "We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and there was already a line forming on a busy Friday night (my husband's birthday). We were immediatley shown to our waiting table. Food was great, interestly presented, and arrived quckly, but not too quickly. The service was excellent and the staff's sense of humor and unruffled demeanor was refreshing."

  • "Such a great find just outside of the Seattle downtown. There seemed to be a lot of returning locals, which was a good sign, the food was so tasty, we would return time and again if we lived locally. Will visit the Sand Point Grill next time we are in Seattle, thumbs up indeed."

  • "This delightful spot, tucked into a low profile unassuming building, in the Sand Point area might just become one of my favorite places. Had it not been for the promotion of Seattle Restaurant week, with it's three courses for 28 deal, I might never have "found" this place. Can't wait to go back and try the regular selections. The menu looks varied with choices for all your party, and the wine list while short in stature, offers wines at a substantially lower price than I have seen at other places. We will return."

  • "This place was recommended to me for its delicious burgers. And they were delicious! My lemondrop martini was also well made and fresh tasting. We were running late for our reservation and they were very willing to accommodate us. The service was good, not excellent. No one was rude, but I enjoy the restaurant experience more when servers are a little more talkative. Our food came out before our drinks-because we were making a show after dinner this was fine but any other time it would have been nice to get our drinks and have some time with them before the food came out. We are definitely looking forward to going back and trying some more items on the menu."

  • "My niece had brain surgery so I took my family in here the night before because it was close to Childrens. There were 7 of us including kids but we were treated very well. Our server was patient and professional. The food was perfect and was fit for sophisticated palettes and my mothers simple tastes simultaneously. I couldn't be happier with my experience."

  • "This was our second time dining here and it won't be the last. It is a neighborhood restaurant where you feel like you already know everyone. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and they are great with kids. When we were there on Saturday it was very busy but the service did not suffer except for a bit of a wait for our drinks. One of the best things they do when you have a child with you is to immediately bring them a nice plate of fruit and vegetables which is so helpful and appreciated. Our granddaughter had a great time. Our dinners, including my husband's very generous Ceasar salad, were delicious. I loved my sausage plate with onions and polenta. It was a perfect dinner for a cool fall evening."
