  I grew up n San Diego and have returned to Bali Hai on many special occasions. We went on Saturday Night for early father's day. We had a seat at the window overlooking the San Diego Bay and beautiful sunset, local weddings were going on and just great view. Appetizers were ordered, great calamari, a good portion size and we also had crab cakes . They were ok, a bit small and overcooked. My 80 yr old mom and Ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp. It was GREAT, Wife ordered scallops and they too were good and my dad ordered a classic sweet/sour chicken and it was a great size and good too. Our wait staff.....very attentive yet inconspicuous. Classic Mousse was ordered for dessert. GREAT MEAL OVERALL. One down side, was the noise. Very Loud...More

  Saturday night, 7:30pm, we were the only table in the restaurant. Kind of makes one a bit questioning...did we make a good choice? The place had great reviews on Open Table, it was just a few steps from our hotel, and we didn't want to deal with the 5th Street craziness as we did that the night before. We did good!! Food was very good and the service was attentive. Yes, just as everyone else says, the mussel bisque rocks!! (We found out that the place was busy before we got there with people eating early and going to the theatre.)...More
