Samuel Beckett's Irish Gastro PubOur first time. It is anOur first time. It is an attractive pub/restaurant. The food was excellent - the best scallops I have ever eaten. Service was excellent. The only negative was that it was "Trivia night" in the back room and the leader was rather loud. We are senior folks and prefer low noise level establishments. The place is usually packed and noise levels high, but fun all around. One problem is that some tables are very closely placed together, so as servers squeeze in between the small spaces in between tables you're likely to get a glimpse of their butts while you're having dinner along with the frequent bump on the back of your chair.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSomething for Everyone.We continue to be impressed by SBIGP. We go there for pre-theater dinner gatherings -- it is right next door to Signature Theater; parking is free and very convenient; early diners enjoy attentive service and calm surroundings (bar crowd kicks up the noise later). Menu selections are very good and servings are huge. Our party enjoyed Mussels, Fish Cakes, Meatloaf and Lamb Shank, along with soups and salads. No complaints from anyone. Drink list also offers some temptations, and I especially like the Irish Mai Tai. I'd like to try out their lunch and brunch offerings some time. Still, great food and beer and would definitely go back.
Thought the bangers and mash were the best I have ever had, shepherd's pie was a hit, and the steak was only so-so.
Great bar downstairs, fun little bar upstairs, and t shirts for $10 each can't be beat.

I had a hamburger and it was great. I was a bit worried about the noise because I had been upstairs on a weeknight and it had been bustling but all was good. My father in law loves pubs so this was a good place to go. Our server was very attentive and just pleasant. She talked with our daughters and offered them pieces of chocolate for Easter. We had a fine time enjoyed all aspects of our time at Samuel Beckett's Pub. I have lunched there several times in the past and have always been pleased. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Like the food and the beverages.
