A word from Sam's
Sam"s is not about reinventing the wheel. It's more about finding four wheels that we wanted to drive around the Boston Waterfront. The local bounty of New England's farms and artisans; the simplicity of an American Diner; the endless and timeless appeal of the French Bistro menu; and the warmth and welcoming spirit of our home.

Located above Louis Boston on Fan Pier, Sam's is a 45 seat restaurant that offers stunning views of the Boston skyline and waterfront.

We are conveniently located next to the ICA and Boston Courthouse, and a short walk to the Boston Convention Center, World Trade Center, and Bank of America Pavilion.

During the warmer months, seating is available on our 80 seat patio. Reservations are only offered for the inside dining room, but please feel free to call about our wait times for outdoor seating.

Diner Reviews
  • "good food in gorgeous setting marred only by the poor attitude verging on rudeness of the host."

  • "Loved the chikpea falafel - worth the price. My friend love the Trout. GREAT VIEWS!"

  • "I was quite disappointed with this restaurant. The menu was limited, the prices were disproportionate to what was served, and my dish (fried oysters) was unappealing, tasteless and underwhelming."

  • "Sam's will remain one of my favorite Boston restaurants. It's consistently terrific. The two fish dinners we had were wonderful. Esti and her husband are the best team in town."

  • "A sophisticated modern restaurant with amazingly inventive and deliciously executed food!! No dish is a simple thing, every dish was above and beyond expectations!! I highly recommend Sam's!"

  • "Sam's staff coupled with excellent cuisine, made our night a success! Great bar staff as week - this is a don't miss if you are in the Seaport."

  • "Second time. Waiter kept rushing my table. Still gave him a nice tip because I like the resturant... Just watch your employees, they can destroy a establishments rep quickly...."

  • "The staff was friendly and helpful. Our server was friendly and very efficient. Great location on the water. Nice ambiance. The food was great. Our dining experience at Sam's was very special and we had a wonderful time there. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I have been to Sam's twice now (once for lunch and once for dinner) and have not been disappointed. The food is amazing and they have a small but good quality wine list. The only pitfall: don't expect to get a table outside. I was there on a Monday night and a Thursday for lunch and was not able to get a seat outside even though I requested it. They don't take reservations for outside seating and there is usually at least an hour wait. The inside is very nice though, and you can still enjoy the great view through their floor to ceiling windows."

  • "We had a 7pm reservation for dinner, and arrived a bit early to ask to be put on the outdoor seating list. There was plenty of room in the outdoor bar area for us to grab a cocktail, and our dinner table was ready in about 20 minutes (we were quoted 45 so this was great). It was too nice out not to take advantage of the views. When all the new tall buildings go in around Sam's, it will be a travesty, because they will block the city views. Everyone was friendly at Sam's and the food was pretty good (a bit on the salty side for me, but I'm quite sensitive to salt). The menu has a decent variety of entrees including a few vegetarian options."

  • "I simply love this place. I don't know what makes this kitchen work, but is it truly without flaw. Elegant, classy, honest food that is clean and flavorful. The people who work here clearly love this place."

  • "Best veggie burger I've ever had (and I've had a lot!) This is my favorite spot in the Seaport district, so I'm biased. Everything we've had has been delicious, and the scenery is amazing. Great menu for vegetarians, lots of options!"

  • "Sam's has great food, an amazing view and Esti. Oh, and the bartender is always right on. I take all my out of town guests here. it's a great after work spot also."

  • "Excellent view. Nice ambience. Our waitress was attentive and polite. The food was overall great, though I would skip the falafel plate next time. Also I was informed that Sam's has their own parking lot. When I pulled up it seemed very small but there was a spot to park. A valet attendant then appeared and told me that it would be $16. I didn't think to ask if there was another parking lot nearby, and as I handed him the money he then informed me that I could keep my keys because he was getting off shift (9PM). So I basically paid $16 for absolutely nothing. Overall though the experience was pleasant, and I would go back again."

  • "Nuce setting for a casual mid week lunch nand surprisingly crowded despite the awkward entrance. Bonus is the valet parking."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "I love this place! Beautiful views and absolutely excellent food. The only reason I didn't award 5 stars is because they closed very early on Sunday evening (kitchen closed at 8:45)."

  • "The attention to detail at SAMs is unmatched. The restaurant is well appointed with a breathtaking view of the harbor from 3 sides of the all glass restaurant. The food was exquisite. The flavor profile was unique and delicious and every dish I saw leave the kitchen was stunning in appearance. I brought guests from DC and ChI and they were impressed with the meal. The staff was pleasant, well dressed and accommodating. Rarely have I had a dining experience which was the whole package and this one is truly a gem!"

  • "This will be my fourth time to Sam's and I always leave happier than when I went in ... and I'm a pretty upbeat person to begin with!!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The restaurant is very "industrial" decor but cool and hip. A small space yet open with an amazing view of Boston Harbor. The food was different and delightful at very reasonable prices. The only disappointment was the pork belly BLT sandwich. There were many vegetarian choices. The fried zucchini appetizer was so fresh yet crispy. The “local lettuce” salad was simple yet flavorful. The chicken entrée was moist and yummy. They were accommodating of special requests like the peppercorn burger without the peppercorns. The desserts were scrumptious, especially the carrot cake cheesecake being more like a bread pudding cake than a cheesecake. Last but not least, our server was fantastic. I highly recommend this great spot with a harbor view!"

  • "Third time here and each time, Sam's is even better than before - which is hard to do! Their burger, their duck, the quinoa salad, and fried zucchini - all are delicious!"
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "I've had the pleasure of dining here several times and the food is always fantastic and reliable, no surprises here except for what will be on the menu!"

  • "Great place. would recommend it any time of the day."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "The scene at Sam's stole the show but tables are too close and this fantastic space doesn't offer enough choices for many return trips. Hard to put together a light dinner and we settled on a "sharing" approach, ordering a rather basic Cheese Plate from the Appetizer menu and an Entree Peppercorn Burger. Surprise is that both were outstanding and plenty for our appetites. Many diners doing the same."

  • "You can't beat the view, which is spectacular any time of the day. The menu, however, needs a tad more sparkle. The food was good, though nothing to make me run back. The staff was friendly - my server a bit phony, though - and one male server that thankfully didn't wait on us had a major attitude so much so that the other patrons were commenting on it. Also, I have a problem with wine tumblers. Anyone who knows even the smallest bit about wine knows that wine should never be served in stemless glasses. Our chilled white wine warmed all too quickly. Still, I will probably return next time I'm on the neighborhood."

  • "We had a pretty good experience here. The view was amazing and the food was good, however our drinks were so strong they were almost undrinkable. Also, it says it is a $$ restaurant but my bill said otherwise."

  • "I didn't like my lunch unfortunately. It was a scallops dish with green papaya, but the scallops didn't appear to be cooked. They looked a little like jelly fish! Maybe I missed the detail that they wouldn't be cooked? Looking back, I should have said something. Also the butter was left out on a very hot day--should have been there for the bread and then taken away. The server was very nice and attentive. "

  • "Sat outside on the patio. It was a bit windy, but the views were great. Food was very good. A bit pricey for a place that was pretty casual. Overall great restaurant on the seaport. Due to the construction it was somewhat confusing to find the place but nothing terrible."

  • "Great views of the harbor, excellent entrees and appetizers, desserts were okay but nothing chocolate on the menu, very "lively" (i.e., not the best place for dining with your parents). I made a reservation well in advance and would have hoped for a better table - we were seated in a spot where it was nearly impossible to hear our table conversation. The hostess told us it would be a long wait for a better table ..."

  • "The quinoa salad was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. My mom had the herbed chicken and risotto which was moist and delicious. The view was great. The room was very noisy."
