Sam's of Gedney WayWhite Plains anchorI hadn't been here in many years and was glad to see it's still very good. Our group was actually early due to a show getting out early, but Sam's accommodated us in the outdoor patio which was probably better than inside (less noisy) for our talkative group. The service was good; even though there were just a few occupied tables outdoors on a busy Saturday night the server and bus crew didn't forget us.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOut-of-towners- where to dine?Googled: Restaurant in White Plains area with outdoor dining experience. Sam's of Gegney Way came up. Their website was great, the menu sounded good, and the look of it seemed cute. It was right on the mark. The food was delicious and its presentation was awesome. I was most impressed with the sizes of the salads and the beautiful presentation of the bowl of onion soup.

Instead of sitting in the main dining room we were in the small room, often used for small parties, by the entrance. It was great. There was one other table for 2 there with us. My favorite part, though, was watching my 90+ year old grandmother try mussels for the first time. And one of the servers was very attentive to her every need, which I'm very appreciative of. But back to the food. We also had the sole special and the crab cakes, and enjoyed both immensely. I liked that we were offered New York beers and wines, which we tried and enjoyed. The waffles, steak and eggs and steak sandwich. We ordered pancakes to share, they were ok.
The unlimited bloody Mary's and bellinis were perfect with meals.

He recommended the veal chop special which is "worth every penny", as he put it. Also, the Caesar salad is freshly prepared. We ran out of room for dessert, but we will definitely come back for more!
