I have been here several times and the food is consistently well prepared, delicious, and a reasonable value. The service was very good and even though the restaurant was very full, nobody rushed us. The Sunday brunch began with a lovely basket of croissant and scones. My guests who from out of town loved them and were so impressed by this added touch. I had the Portabello sandwich that came with Sweet Potato fries.Yumm... My friend ordered the Salmon Benedict that was very rich and tasty.

From start to finish a great night out. Started with a Dark and Stormys, well made and great taste. We started with some nice appetizers. They have a unique twist on the fried calamri. Lightly battered, with vinegar peppers, and some other spices to really give it some flavor and pop. Wife had DayBoat Seared SeaScallops, flavor was outstanding. If you like scallops you in for a treat. I had the Grilled MarinatedSliced PetiteFiletMignon nice, tender and filled with flavor the sides really complemented the Filet. Desert was Death by Chocolate all around all four of us had this and it was a nice way to end the meal along with an Irish Coffee.

First off, Peter is great guy and I love all of the business ideas he has incorporated. It seems asthough his staff follows his lead as everyone there was kind, courteous and had great customer service skills. The food on the other hand, EVERYHING WAS PHENOMINAL !!! Best meal my guests and I have had in years. Not one complaint , can't wait to go back.

Been dining at Sam's for 35 years and have yet to figure out why, when there's a table of four, the waiter brings rolls and one tiny dish of butter. It's the only thing that I have found about Sam's that is pretentious, insufficient and, frankly, cheap. Considering the amount of butter in the dish, there should be one for each diner. Also, don't know why it is absolutely predictable that no restaurant, including Sam's, will not leave the cheese grater on the table. If the cheese grater were left on the table, would diner's really abuse the amount used? Also, while eating, a diner might want more cheese as the diner gets down to the lower level of food on the plate. Review continued below in "private note to restaurant".

My husband and I went for brunch on Sunday after reading some of the reviews. I thought it was okay - average food and service I've been to better brunches before. I don't think I'm coming back. Portions were too small and drinks barely had any alcohol in it.

For the most part our dinner was very good. The soups. onion and butternut squash were excellent. The turkey burger very tasty and well prepared. But, the hors d'oeuvre, appetizer size mussels was a big disappointment. I've had this many times in Sam's , always pleased, but not this visit.

We were there for lunch. It was near our final destination in Westchester. (We live on Long Island). Recommended by my sister who has eaten there before as a "special ladies lunch place". It was a special place, not necessarily just for ladies. There were ladies, couples and businessmen. The hostess was attentive, server very good and the food excellent!

Met a friend here for lunch. I was looking for a place in White Plains close to the shopping. Thanks to Trip Advisor, I found this place. The menu had good selection for lunch and my friend was very pleased because they had a gluten free menu. We had the tapas appetizer, very delicious. I had a grilled vegetable melt wrap, also very good. My friend had a turkey burger (with gluten free bread) that looked wonderful. And they served it with roasted potatoes instead of French fries - very nice. We finished the meal off with delicious cappuccino. The ambience is very pleasant and the service attentive. It was also nice and quiet and good place chat and linger for a while.

This is the second time we had brunch here. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good. I had a hamburger that was huge and I had trouble finishing it with all the extra's that were on it. Omelets are also overstuffed. Brunch includes a free cocktail.

We enjoyed the meal selection. My wife is on weight watchers and Sam's came through with great choices for health conscious as well as for comfort food devotees. The wine by the glass provided was of excellent quality. No cheapness there, and the final bill could have been 60% more and I should not have complained. As it was, it was extremely reasonable. The waiter was young man from Mexico, more utilitarian in appearance than a showman. But he was sharp as a tack, offering the refill of my empty wineglass right on time. My salmon dish was healthy, and wonderfully imaginative. My wife's lobster salad healthy and delicious.

Sam's of Gedney Way has been a warm, welcoming and reliable place for lunch, dinner and special (catered) events for as long as I can remember. I've attended many events in their downstairs catering area too -- including a lecture/luncheon last week -- and there's always the same high level of concern for patrons' comfort and enjoyment. My only reservation about going there is the failure of Verizon wireless service inside (about which they can't seem to do anything to correct) and the fact that my cell phone once ran down completely during a very long dinner engagement while searching for a signal. (I always turn it off now when inside, just in case. . .)

They did not honor our 8 pm reservation. When we arrived they dais 10 minutes. At 830 they said 15 minutes more. Meanwhile people who came in after us - we're seared. The owner who had been greeting his regulars hid in the kitchen when I asked to speak to him. We left out of frustration without eating as we had an engagement . I will never go there again. We were treated very badly.

We recently discovered Sam's has a priced fix menu on Sunday's and we plan to take regular advantage of it. This past weekend we both had a sumptuous heirloom tomato/fresh mozzarella/prosciutto appetizer, prime rib entree with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans, and death by chocolate dessert. The total bill was scarcely more than we would have paid for a local chain restaurant. It really was terrific value for the money!

Over the years we have been to Sam's maybe 5 or 6 times. The food is pretty good and it's a nice neighborhood place to go (I'm not really in the neighborhood, but not too far). They are very friendly...not really sure what else to say. The decor makes me feels like I am in a hotel restaurant for some reason. I think the decor could use a little updating - maybe the food, too. I don't have anything bad to say but there is nothing outstanding to report either.

It had been about a half year since we last dined here, but our expectations for great food were met as usual. We love the periodically changing menu that still also features some favorite, old standbys. The fixed price menu on Sunday night drew us in and we loved the marinated steak entrees we got. It's a great bargain. We've decided to make this a regular Sunday night spot.

Although our waiter was very friendly and funny, the service was really quite slow. It's possible that this was because there was a large party seated next to us, but who knows? The drinks were extremely weak, although expensive, and the food was not really tasty. I would not return to this restaurant.

Most lunch and dinner hours owners Karen and Peter Herrera are there to greet you with a smile and make sure that you have a good experience dining with them. Went for Brunch with the Family as we are Brunch Aficionados and overall the experience was good. Service was quick, food was good and the Bellinis were very good too and served in big wine glasses. The only thing we felt was the table was too small and tight to be able to enjoy a comfortable experience with 4 people. We were seated at one of those tables on the elevated floor against the wall. Not bad but not comfortable. I would still go back and recommend.

Four of us met at Sam's for a Sunday Brunch. We were seated outside upon our request. The Cubano Tapis was delicious and the guys enjoyed the wings. Steak and Eggs was had by three of us. The steak (filet) was very tender and cooked perfectly. The frittata was a bit overdone but edible. The overall experience was great. We were there for three hours and the time just flew by. We will be going back to try Same's Great BBQ. Looking forward to a second great experience.
