The food is excellent, prepared as requested. There are always interesting specials and a varied menu with plenty of choices. We've had a few different waiters, but our favorite is Carlos. He is pleasant, efficient, and takes great care of us. The complimentary biscotti and amaretto at the end of the meal is a nice touch. Did not seem to be particularly good and, although not in the dining area there was no separation so noise went all the way through the restaurant. As things go I had to change the reservation last minute to a party of 4.......... Upon arrival they had a table for 4 just as requested and that is a great start to the evening! Service was great, food on point, and could not have asked for much better....... Oh, and I failed to mention I booked this on Friday afternoon for that evening and the Opentable app did not disappoint!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile visiting Palm Springs,While visiting Palm Springs, we wanted a "homey" feeling Italian Restaurant and discovered Sammy's. No stranger to the Coachella Valley and the plethera of restaurants to choose from, Sammy's is a local, hidden treasure with friendly wait staff, delicious Italian cuisine, moderate prices, a full bar and wine list. We especially apprciated their accommodating our Therapy Dog, "Dexter", a large English Cream Golden Retriever. Our patio space was comfortable . . . with a heater for an unusual cool evening in the desert. The check came with two snifters full of Amaretto and home made Biscotti's. Thanks to Sergio (waiter), and the entertainment for the evening, Paul Willette, with his classic renditions of songs from the 30's thru the 90's.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in Palm SpringsAnother pleasant experience at Sammy G's! Bianca ensured we had our choice of prime spots to sit & we chose the balcony location for four. Our friendly waiter Robert paid close attention & made sure we got what we needed. He also helped customize some menu items to our liking. The assisting table staff kept water in our glasses & cleared the table with great timing. The food is always consistent & well prepared. The veal parmesan was outstanding! From the seafood, chicken marsala & lasagna, we all were thrilled with our choices & sufficiently sufficed by the large portions. Desert was tasty. After dinner, we strolled over to the bar area for some live music & dancing. The people watching at the bar is fun too. There were several wait staff on hand and many contributed to our fine dining experience. Although there were several diners, we had no problem communicating with each other or the wait staff. I enjoyed the background music too. The pride Sammy G had in his establishment was quite evident through himself and his wait staff. We had a fabulous waiter who took care of our every need. The food was so delicious, we had difficulty deciding which of the 4 entrees was the best. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, the risotto was superb, the seafood pasta was incredible and the eggplant was execellent. We shared the most tender, delicate calamari to start.
